Journaling reads:
Fulbeck is a charming village in Lincolnshire, England. This early 20th century painting is a view my 2 times great grandparents, William Henry Sr. and Jane Eyre Winter and my great grandfather, Thomas K. Winter, would have known well. William Winter was a farm bailiff, an important managerial position on a landed estate. My research leads to the supposition that he worked for the Fane family, who owned most of the parish. The bailiff often lived at the manor or hall, so it is likely he lived in the Fulbeck Hall farmhouse at some point or some other farmhouse that belonged to the estate as his address on the 1871 and 1881 census returns simply had his residence as on The Heath.
