This page took me a couple of weeks to finish - mostly because I needed to restore the photos and decide how I wanted to tell the story. The list of credits for this page is insane and totally out of character for me - but I wanted every element and every word strip to mean something and represent a part of his life rather than just embellish...
The journaling reads:
Escaping life, he joined military academy at the age of 14, but soon realised army life was not for him. Nevertheless, he spent 10 years as a career soldier reaching the rank of an artillery lieutenant until he got honorably discharged in 1988. A sharp shooter and an excellent driver, he was 24 and had few other marketable skills, but the army had taught him determination.
The rest is history. Starting from the very bottom and working odd jobs to make ends meet, a warehouse operator by day and a driving instructor by night, he learned languages to get a better job and then a promotion and... to everyone's surprise... excelled at management carving himself quite a reputation in the industry. Not bad for a boy from nowhere.
