This little bird is a species of finch easily distinguished by its colouring. I sometimes see flocks of them flying in lines fairly low to the ground. They're seed eaters but occasionally eat insects too.

Wow! Another fabulous bird photo. With that coloring, you'd think they'd be easy prey. They must be a most wonderful sight when they are flying together.
