Four flats in one day-Merry Christmas 1930!

"Christmas!!!???...We started this morn at 6:50 and when we were 4 miles from town we had a flat. That valley had acres & acres of lettuce fields...At Wintersburg we took a different route than we had planned and got stung. Just out of Wickenburg we had another flat...We stopped at a trading post and bought something to eat. It had everything one could imagine. Coming down a canyon from Bouse we had a flat again...We crossed the Colorado River and entered Cal. at 2:15...just along the end of the Salton sea we had our fourth and last flat tire for the day. Stopped driving at 6:30 at Whitewater...Total driving hrs 11 hrs. 25 min. Total mileage 334.

I loved that the transcription and layout for December 24th & 25th landed on those pages of the template album.

Thank you for looking.

All of a sudden life seems lighter in my corner of the world! Four flats in a day--that's epic. Awesome documentation!

I cannot imagine the Salton Sea in 1930. This is such a treasure of a story to have, and with photos to support it!

I'm sure the Salton Sea was a beauty in 1930. It was still nice in the 1970's, but such a shame the horrible condition it's in today.

I agree ... very cool that the Christmas story ended up on days 24 and 25. Something about the dried orange slice is just perfect for a vintage Christmas story.
