I have been politically active since I was a kid debating my brother at the dinner table about topics such as the death penalty and the STAR Wars Defence Program. (I was against both!). I read the Bill of Rights at my own dinner table when my kids were in elementary school to impress upon them how important those rights are after the reauthorization of the PATRIOT Act. But never before this year have I marched in not one, but two protests. My daughter and I marched as part of the March For Our Lives after the Parkland School Shooting. Then a few months later I was out again, this time with my mother-in-law in support of Families Belong Together. Count on me to make a sign and raise my voice again when I need to.
