Journaling reads:
Yesterday I was given a photo of myself that was taken around 1984. I was around 32 and had been separated from my husband for 4 years and was rearing my four children (aged 11 - 6) on my own. I can remember being so very lonely and so disillusioned with life. I can recall telling myself that it would get better and to just take it day by day, but wow, some days were tougher than others and there were a lot of days spent in despair and bucket loads of tears cried.

I look at this photo now and see the sadness there iin my eyes but also a strength that I didn't realise I had at the time. I just wish that I could have known then how wonderful my life was going to be in the future. The following year I met the love of my life and we are still very much in love after nearly 33 years of being together.

My children have grown into wonderul and loving adults and I am so very proud of each and every one of them. The boys are all fathers and are doing a fabulous job with their kids. My daughter is in a new relationship and perhaps there may be the pitter patter of tiny feet there as well, who knows? If it happens I am certain that my girl will be such a wonderful and loving mother. And becoming a grandmother has added so much more joy and love to my life! Each of my grandchildren are so very unique and special in their own way and I am so very proud them and of who they are growing into.

Life is good at the moment and I am looking forward to starting a new phase in my life with my darling man in Tasmania. A big move but life is all about moving forward, taking risks and going on new adventures! To my younger self, thank you for being so resilient and strong all those years ago, those traits have defined who I am today and for that I will always be grateful!
