'Crackers'

Journaling: Crackers. Not the ones you eat with cheese, those of a celebratory variety, to include a pop/bang, hat, joke and little gift . They have been a tradition around here for as long as I can remember. This English tradition goes back to my childhood where the obligatory paper hat during dinner was a must.

Its not quite Christmas without the crackers! Its fun to revisit each year as Ella and Luke grow from bemused and terrified to enamored by their charm.

The hats once falling over their eyes now fit and the are now able to participate in telling the cheesy jokes. We don't go much into table decor but were all about the fun stuff.

Traditions are just plain cool. They give commonality to our existence and provide context in our combined and personal stories.
