Daily Ooos: Friday, January 31

Yay it is
Whatta week! Whatta month!
My goodness, January always feels like a long month but hooooboy this one was "forever-long." It's not just me who feels this way, right? Looking at the bright side, this month is (almost) over and February is a short one. That brings us to March and getting ready for Spring. I got this. We got this!

I was busy cleaning almost all day yesterday so it went pretty quickly. Will it stay clean until Tuesday? Not a chance but I am trying
I wanted to do a little scrapping in the afternoon but ACDsee was still giving me fits. I deleted the cdx files and it opened up again so that's a good sign. I didn't have time to use it so my fingers and toes are crossed that when I open it at the same time as PS it won't hang up on me. The DB is backed up so I have that covered if I run into trouble. I updated my regular one and did a full backup as well, just to be safe.

Today is Maple Sugaring training but sheesh the weather is doing its darnedest to be awful. No precip in a week and today we have snow, sleet, and rain. Schools are on a delayed opening and I don't; know if it's a good idea to drive down to the resale store for the birdfeeder. Wouldn't it be a kicker to get into an accident on my way to get a birder feeder on sale? That may or may not even be there.

I am rereading yesterday's thread for personals and am chuckling at Debby's comment of an alien invasion. I saw a headline this morning about an asteroid that has a 1% chance of hitting Earth (I didn't read the article so I can't comment on its accuracy) but the silly/sad part was my initial reaction to cheer on the asteroid.

My brother's celebration of life service has been booked for the 5th of July and our kids have already booked their flights home. Heather will not be bringing the boys or Jonah, but will fly out with her brother and his family. Still not really sure just how long everyone will be staying and I might have to fly Heather back, I guess we will need to discuss that. I am happy that they will be here with us, just wish it was for a happier event! My Gary and I plan on speaking at my brother's service so I have to get busy and jot down what I want to say. Gary is a pro when it comes to speaking in front of crowds , me not so much, but I really want to do this for my brother!

I am not good with speaking in public either and you remember how much I stressed over the wedding toast. Granted that was a happy occasion but I kept telling myself that everyone there was b/c they loved Caitlyn and Tom so if I messed up, no one was going to care. I usually don't like using generative AI, but I wrote my toast first and then ran it through ChatGPT to clean it up. I compared the two versions and then edited them that way. My Gary went harder on the ChatGPT initially but it didn't sound like him/us so we went my with version LOL
As long as it comes from the heart it will be perfect, even if you say it through tears. I'll never forget Sam's eulogy for her brother. She was standing on a table, sobbing and laughing, and then sobbing again. Everyone was sobbing and laughing with her. It's the connection. (I know you know this, again I am rambling but trying to support you in my own weird but loving way.)

@BrightEyes How many color plays did you scrap so far? I have one in the gallery and two for Foxeysquirrel I need to upload today. I wanted to do more this week but you know-- computer gremlins got in my way

I love it when the people who hire the interns hire them on after they graduate! That's how it was with my son working for NSA. He interned in college and they kept him on! He's a computer guru.....coding guru, that is! If you ask him about a problem with the computer he has no idea, LOL!

Caitlyn's school/job has hired several of the interns as FT advisors. They have a strong commitment to the Ramapo community and it shows. Her team is amazing. That's so funny about your DS--a coding guru and that's it
yeah, I hear you. My scrapping mojo -- most all life-mojo is running low for me ATM too. Although I like what you said about cleaning mojo, sometimes I get that full blast.

Took me a long time to get back here for personals LOL. I was out running my errands and went and forgot a couple of things, now I have to go out AGAIN!! Why oh Why don't I make a list for every single thing I need to do??

Because if you made a list, you would leave it at home. Not that I am speaking from experience.

I am off to check the weather and road situation.

As for basketball, we have 1 1/2 games this evening but none of over the weekend. Sickness is running through the local schools and games are being cancelled left and right. Our boys tournament is next weekend and I hope it's all gone by then as our girls tournament was already cancelled and I would hate to have the boys suffer the same fate!.

Edited to add: We just got word that the 1/2 JV game has been cancelled. We're down to 1 varsity boys game.

To me the month flew by and was looooong, too! I think the seemingly long part was due to the anticipation of the family gathering this weekend!

Up and running like crazy editing the 5 LOs I uploaded yesterday...(now that the Color Plays are in the store).... then getting them uploaded around digi-land. Taking a quick break to pop in here.

@BrightEyes How many color plays did you scrap so far? I have one in the gallery and two for Foxeysquirrel I need to upload today. I wanted to do more this week but you know-- computer gremlins got in my way

Well... let me count... I have made 13 LOs from 9 different designers/kits. Will load 5 LOs today and finish loading the rest tomorrow. And tomorrow is FEBURAY so will be looking at the new challenges!!! Then I need to copy/move folders from the "Working" folder over to the "Scraping" folder and onto the ExHD...

So sorry the gremlins with the ACDC was giving you fits!!! Oh... just looked at the FoxxySquirrel Color Play!!! Wow... Hmmm... may need to look at all the Color Play ones again.... Can't believe how many we have this month. Of course, OS has added a lot of new designers and many of them are participating this month.

Oh... almost forgot... I did take a couple of photos of my enchilada dinner I had last night. Oh.. so good!!

Good Morning. Happy Friday! Happy end of month. Happy. Just happy. This is a great day. Its 17 minutes old so far. LOL. Its -4 again. Back is tight, stress, and causing my hands to be tingly. Thankfully I can still type. I'm not sure what happened to yesterday. I know I took the dogs to groomers cause they're shaved and cute again and I know I met a friend for lunch and we laughed. The rest, not so sure. Went quickly yesterday. Feels like there is so much happening I am not keeping up.

Surgeries are starting to get real. Got my transportation and lodging all finalized. Thankful for family who are willing to lend us a car and their little garage apartment. I'm looking forward to next year when I am all done and recovered. Will be amazing to feel so much better. For those who dont know, I have Lipedema and will be having surgery to remove the fibrotic fat cells that are like frozen peas under the skin. It will take 3-4 surgeries to do it all. (shoulders to ankles)

Well, must get more coffee. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Friday everyone! It is a rainy and somewhat warmer morning, so that is very good!! The forecast is for rain for most of the day and then tomorrow we are supposed to get snow Ha, Ha love that emoji!! It will likely be very heavy wet snow, but we will take what we can get! We sure need it on the mountains! I never did end up going back out for what I forgot yesterday, so decided I will do that today and squeeze in a coffee visit with my sister. Wish it was nicer weather, I would try to convince her to get out for a walk with me. She has become somewhat of a recluse since she retired and I worry about her sometimes! She doesn't even do any shopping in store and orders everything online and has it delivered. I really need to get her out of the house and get some fresh air and exercise, hopefully this spring when the temps are nicer. I have to get some month end things done around here, but I see that our @wombat146 has been busy and has done a few things for me already . Thanks Ona!!

Probably a good idea to stay home today! Not worth the risk of getting into an accident just for a bird feeder that might not be there!

Good morning ladies. I am heading out for Mexican Train in a bit, need to walk Remi first. The temps are dropping and the warm spell is over. Time to bundle up again. We joined another local group and went to play euchre with about 40 others at our local legion. Jen joined too so she'll come to some events. It's all ages but mostly 40-60. So now I belong to 6 local groups. No wonder there is always something going on LOL. Being a small community there is some overlap in members belonging to more than one group so we pretty much know someone no matter what group event we attend. So much fun but exhausting. I'm looking forward to the wkend, no events planned. I can relax and putter. I'll check out socials over the wkend when I have more time.

@faerywings Sorry your weather is not cooperating.
@AK_Tracy Sounds like a lot to go thru but at the end of the surgeries you should feel like a new woman.

Wow where did the day go...I was up at 5 and just now had a chance to read this chatter. so much going on.
I don't have time to comment. Just wanted to say they started to dig/jet for our new power line...since Nov 13..pretty sorry system. We are having 5 friends for dinner so I have been making sauce and putting together lasagna, salad and dipping oil for a appetizer baguette.

Hi there, Tracy. I only check the Daily Ooos now and then, so this is the first I heard you are having surgeries. It's marvelous that they are capable of helping your lipedema. I hope all goes easily and well and that it makes a big difference. Sending big hugs!! (I guess I'd better check in more often to keep up to date, lol.)
