CHEERY O
Oh wow, I am waking up to the news of the airplane/military helicopter crash in DC and am heartbroken. As of right now, no survivors have been found. Just gutting.

I don't feel right being silly so I am going to simply post my good thoughts to everyone involved
:praying2:

I have a quiet day here, I think I am going to clean my house to get ready for the party on Tuesday.

Big hugs to you all! :grouphugyay:

Yikes, I am running way behind schedule. But I want to do personals and it's not like I have anywhere to go today. So there. :tongueout1:

LOL I thought it might have been some time travel or maybe alien:spinningchair: take over. :clubparty:
Hahah!! I wish!!! :exitroom:

Well, maybe the "ramble" is because it gave me a good idea! I never thought to use those bags to wrap ornaments. Me too have too many!
I am glad I "helped." I also use them instead of newspapers to protect my table for art projects.

I am :rotfl: as I woke up thinking today was Thursday... but was confused as the Wednesday pills were still in the weekly pill box. I use the date on the computer along with my calendar to help keep me on track. Counting in my head... Monday - Commissary; Tuesday - car wash at Dealership... that makes today Wednesday...(not Thursday)!!! :floorlaugh:
I'm contagious. :floorlaugh:
Yay for the Vit E cream.
I am always on the lookout for something to help the dark circles in my eyes. Other than my forehead creases (way past wrinkles) I don't have too many lines. But the skin around my entire eye is 25 shades darker than the rest of my face.
Any recommendations, O-zies?
No hike for me, its too cold and too far away. I did however get in a 5K walk with SIL Linda yesterday and it was really nice to connect with her again! We went out for lunch after our walk and had a great time chatting and catching up. Just as we were about to leave, FIL and MIL showed up at the restaurant and sat in the booth right beside us LOL. They were shocked when they looked over and saw the two of us :giggle4:
Can't say I blame you for not going on the hike. LMBO that your ILs showed up at the restaurant!
Scott dropped off a bag of some pirate stuff yesterday and I printed a few things for kids' party websites. It will be fun to decorate and cook and then talk like pirates while we solve the murder.
Thx for the Zen thoughts for Caitlyn. It was a little less chaotic until the end of the day when they had an emergency staff meeting for how to legally respond if ICE shows up on campus. ICE is allowed into public spaces but not allowed into the dorms unless they have a warrant signed by a judge. Not what she expected to need to know when she took the job. :(
I love your set up! I rarely use my Wacom anymore. It's not a touch pad and I can never remember when I put the pen so unless I am doing a lot of brushwork, It just takes up space
Well, temps are more normal but the drop from 39*F down to 7*F is a bit drastic and man oh man it feels SO cold now.

I'm ready. Well, as ready as I can be with ignoring it! :giggle4: Hubs and I have a quick getaway for fun planned first so that's where my mind is right now.
That's a big drop! Have you adjusted to the cold temps yet?
ooooh, the getaway sounds like a wonderful plan! ♥

@deej Feel free to call me out when I mess up a day/date.

Any of the CheeryOs/Moderators please go ahead and edit my posts too. I trust you all to not change it so it seems like I like ketchup on my spaghetti. Really. I do! :hahano:

Good luck to both you an your DH for the interviews!
I slept like a rock last night!
Praying things are OK now with Cait at work!
Is she still in school and this job is an internship?
May the good sleep continue!
She graduated from Ramapo with her MSW in 2022 and she got a job where she interned there. She is an Academic Advisor and last week was the beginning of the semester. The first two weeks of the semester are always insane with the students needing help with changes/dropping/adding courses. The funding upheaval just added more insanity. She has an awesome and supporting team and that is half the battle right there. She is very lucky ♥

Been looking into places to take the family this weekend for my supplied meal. I'd much rather pay the money than to spend all of the time I usually do in prep and cooking and then to have a bunch of leftovers....not to mention missing the time spent with the kids while they are in and I'm overlooking all the food! Sounds like a win/win to me!
100% win-win!!
:wehaveawinner:
That is so true. At my young cousin's funeral in South Carolina years ago everyone sent plants and things that could be replanted, like hydrangea bushes. The church delivered them to the house later on so they could be planted or used at home... Such a nice gesture.
And, my friend who is Jewish once told me not to send cut flowers to a Jewish funeral for the same reason you stated.
Since both the above events and learning I haven't ever sent cut flowers, in fact I rarely give them anymore because it's true, they are dead and will get dead-er. (I like the way you put that.)
That is such a smart idea about the live plants. I want a green burial (not sure what kind or what will be available in NJ when I go) but I would hope that my family would do something similar.
I know I don't have the most traditional viewpoints but it's interesting that your Jewish friend states the same. I wonder if I picked it up from a Jewish friend from childhood. I was raised Catholic but "celebrated/visited" different churches and ceremonies with non-Catholic friends.

I'm going to sign off now, Have a wonderful day!!

Morning O friends, it is a very foggy morning here and apparently we are supposed to be getting some rain by the afternoon. We haven't had any precipitation for over a month! I need to go out for a bit to run a couple of errands, but other than that my day is pretty free. I hope to scrap or spend some time in my craft room. My brother's celebration of life service has been booked for the 5th of July and our kids have already booked their flights home. Heather will not be bringing the boys or Jonah, but will fly out with her brother and his family. Still not really sure just how long everyone will be staying and I might have to fly Heather back, I guess we will need to discuss that. I am happy that they will be here with us, just wish it was for a happier event! My Gary and I plan on speaking at my brother's service so I have to get busy and jot down what I want to say. Gary is a pro when it comes to speaking in front of crowds , me not so much, but I really want to do this for my brother! I need to go dry my hair and then I will come back for personals BBS

I am running behind today.... Uploaded a few of the Color Play LOs into the gallery so Joyful Heart can maybe use them for tonight's newsletter. So many fabulous collections this month!!! :dancing6: :claphands: dance4 Still have a few more of them that I will be working on today and tomorrow! I will be pushing at the gallery limit of 5 LOs a day!!! :tiptoe:

We did some snow off and on (4 different bouts) yesterday but it all melted away within a short while. Roads in town are clear but the major highways got blasted to the west, east and north in the mountains. I need to mail some bills either today or tomorrow. Will be lazy and take them to our neighborhood mailboxes rather than drive to the Post Office.

Need to be back to scrapping the Color Play LOs. Be back later for personals.

I love it when the people who hire the interns hire them on after they graduate! That's how it was with my son working for NSA. He interned in college and they kept him on! He's a computer guru.....coding guru, that is! If you ask him about a problem with the computer he has no idea, LOL!

Maybe by July the burn of grief will have cooled enough for you to be able to speak at your brother's celebration service! :hug4:

The color plays are beautiful but I have no scrapping mojo at the moment! Please send me some of yours, Kay! How's your back doing? I overextended mine today while cleaning, so I'm resting on the heating pad for a while!

Good afternoon,
I've been making a bad habit of getting in here so late! This week has been extra busy with the family coming in tomorrow. Doing last minute cleaning today and did too much, so I'm having to rest on the heating pad! But the house is looking pretty good, LOL! And the only other prep work I have to do is make the pretzel salad tomorrow. I don't know why it is called a salad because it is a desert, for sure! Too much sugar and cream cheese goodness not to be! ;)
OK, I need to get dressed. I've been working in my lounging clothes today, so I need to dress for supper out with DH. He wanted to do lunch, but I asked him if we could do supper instead because I didn't want to interrupt my cleaning mojo, LOL!
Have a good evening!
5 more months to go on my redownloads!

Congratulations on your promotion and I bet we will be saying the same about your hubby soon too!
Good Morning

Nice to have a sparkling clean house for your company, but please do take care of your back!! You must be getting so excited to see everyone!! Yes I am hoping that I will be able to keep it together long enough to say a few words about my brother!

Took me a long time to get back here for personals LOL. I was out running my errands and went and forgot a couple of things, now I have to go out AGAIN!! Why oh Why don't I make a list for every single thing I need to do??

Ran out of steam finally.... Taking a break from scrapping. Yes, the back and hands are talking to me. It turned into a PJ day for me. I need to use the chair massager for awhile before I make supper.

Thank goodness I made the enchilada sauce yesterday. Oh... it turned out so good. I will be having it for supper again tonight... along with guacamole and chips. I was going to take a photo of it last evening but the camera battery was dead!!! I charged it so will try to get a photo this evening.
