Conversations:
To send a private message to someone, you use the Conversation tool (or Convo for short).

This is how Admin and Cheery O’s will contact you to either send you coupons you have won or simply ask a question about something. In the same manner, if you need to contact a Cheery O about anything then simply start a new conversation.

Starting a Conversation:
To start a convo, click the small Envelope icon that appears next to your name at the top of the forum

TuKkBgridkEmc_QYmxqbtCGNCHXRSIrORDPlqarz0PpskY91EgY_LRYb_L35mm2XY1WppYu2mdpEswBZIW-OVmtWo0Api-8yNbNVznhcfGYoDz8xQrtir098IF8IEfCDF81n1Zk

and select the Start a New Conversation link. The following box will then appear:

Enter the username of the person you want to chat with, enter a title for the chat, type your message and click the Start Conversation button to send it off.

Receiving a Conversation:
When a conversation arrives in your Inbox, the Envelope icon will have a small number next to it. Click on the Envelope once more and you can either click on the message title or click the Show All link to view all of your messages.

Conversation Notification:
You can also elect to have an email sent to you when someone has sent you a conversation. Notifications/alerts can be turned off or on at any time. See the next section to find where you can change these settings to suit you.

Alerts:
An alert simply notifies you when you have been tagged in a forum or gallery post or for a number of other reasons.

You can select just what alerts and notifications you want to receive and edit them at any time.

1 Click on your name at the top of the screen and select Preferences from the drop down menu.

2 In the Preferences area, you can decide just what alerts you would like to receive:

Scroll through and check or uncheck what options you want.

4 Then click the Save button.

Remember, you can change this at any time so if you feel you are getting too many alerts/notifications and/or emails, then simply pop back in here and uncheck some options.

Hi! I'm being overwhelmed with emails alerting me to gallery activity. I've unchecked all the alert boxes in "Preferences" and saved my changes and the emails are still rolling in. What am I doing wrong?

Have a look under your Account Details tab (Email Options area) as well, there are email preferences there as well so you may need to untick those. I will pop that into the notes above as well. Let me know if that works okay for you. :)

Everything's unchecked and the email deluge has stopped! Now I can go back in and figure out the alerts I want to enable. Thanks so much for the quick reply!

Ooops! Update on my previous message...alas, the problem isn't fixed at all. Yesterday I threw a couple of the alerts into the spam folder, and when I checked that folder this morning (after I wrote the first note to you) that's where all the alerts were routed. Tons of alerts. So they're still coming despite unchecking every box in both my account email and the preferences section. Wonder if anybody else is having this problem, or if it's something to do with my laptop and software.

I have looked at your account and you shouldn't be receiving any emails at all. Please forward me one of the emails you are still receiving to the contact us email.

I'm lost... Pretty much loving the changes to the site, but I know my mail box is virtually full and thought I should delete a few things so prizes can appear... But I can't find anything that remotely looks like the old mail box.. no place that shows how many messages I have and even worse, I can't see how to delete a message I am done with... Limit used to be 100, and I had so many message saved, for one reason or another... used to be easy to delete.. just go down the list and check the messages you wanted to delete, then hit delete at the bottom.. there was a selection spot for in box or out box...

Liz, click on the mailbox icon next to your name at the top of the screen then select Show All Conversations........... all your messages should be there from the old forum. As things start to settle down we will explore what options are available but for the time being there isn't any total numbers showing for how many messages you have. We will need to look at the options of deleting a message as well, and if there are any mailbox limits so will definitely get back to you once we have it sorted out. :)

Thanks Ona... so I guess I don't need to worry about space in my mailbox and things not being delivered because it is full, particularly if there is no option to delete when done with it... The format is shockingly different.. I had found the messages, but it did nto feel right.

You can delete conversations quite easily. It's actually under LEAVE conversations.

If you open up your conversation mail box (as Ona has mentioned above in post#14) you will see a list of your conversations and you will see small square check boxes towards the right hand side of the list. Check one and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see an option to select all. Then choose action - and then choose leave conversations - then choose go. You will then have 2 options from which to choose. If you choose accept future messages these conversations will no longer be visible in your mailbox, but the recipient can still reply. If you choose ignore future messages you will not be notified of any future messages and the conversation will remain deleted.

You don't have to select all and you can just manually check individual boxes if you don't want to delete (leave) all messages. I hope this helps. :)

@RobynLJ Thank you Robyn!! xx I was wondering about that Leave Conversation option, thanks so much for taking the time to help out, your assistance is always welcomed! xx :)

@easyeyes4you Hope that helps Liz, I will write up a short guide and pop it in this forum when I get a chance, just so it is available for other people that need to do this. :)

You can also choose LEAVE conversation as soon as you open and read it - so it never actually goes into your list. It's among the options of the open message - top right where the options are in a horizontal bar that says, EDIT, STAR, MARK UNREAD, LEAVE.
