O Cozumel, O Cozumel

I so want to go!!!! But the weekend after (23rd) would be better for me. I don't have school either Friday, but the 16th is a staff development day (probably difficult for me to get out of, being new to the district) and the 23rd is just plain no school.
 
Any date works for me, really. Sal just told me that the rates will stand from last year but if and only if there are some hubbies coming, otherwise he'll go crazy, hahahaha.

Karah, it'd be awesome if you could come!
Kat and Nina, remember this is now a yearly tradition so plan for 2010!!
ME, say you HAVE to come because it's vital that you meet us!
Soco, Clara, Dawn, Linda, you have to come too! Soco, don't you miss Mexican food???

Cyn, I swear, things are going to have to turn around at some point in the next year- if I can focus on 2010 or 2011....

Just have some of that yummy food and drinks for me, go visit Marte (our dolphin LOL) and I will be in spirit :)
 
I'll wait to go until next year with you Chris. I wish I could go this year too, but there is just no way we could swing it. Too bad. It would be soooo much fun.
 
Oh Kat...feeling very guilty here. Both of my kids are in a new school and I'm taking them out for Cozumel. If I can find decent flight rates...4 of us traveling is pricey!
 
Chris, I'm sooo impressed you remembered our dolphin's name!! (i bet cora did, too!)

Linda, I think both you and Kat should homeschool...you can go anywhere anytime and call it school!! :)
 
And Brian and our munchkins will be there! Oh I wish everyone could be there! And Sally, I will homeschool while we are there...or maybe I should call it "travel school". :-)

We were wanting to do the weekend of the 15th because that is Fall Break for Alyx and it's also the same weekend as the "Yamboree" (yes, I said Yam! apparently they're big on sweet potatoes lololol). Alyx always goes to stay the weekend with his grandparents so he can go the Yamboree with them. So, since he's out of school and already going to his grandparents for a long weekend, it's really the ideal weekend for us. Otherwise, my hubby would have to stay home with him and I'd be coming alone like last year.

So... anywho, there's the reason for our dates. Kara, I know that won't work for you :( But, what do y'all think? We should probably nail this down before the flight prices go up.
 
I'm totally in!!! We will be there. I was just about to book the tickets for Cozumel when I had a brainstorm about flying into Cancun. There are tickets available to Cancun with our frequent flyer miles and all four of us can fly free! Saves $1000 by doing that. The $1000 is for four of us one way...the other way was going to be paid by frequent flyer miles.

So, I think that we can take a ferry from Cancun to Cozumel. But I've PM'd Cynthia to make sure that I'm not crazy! Anyway...next step is to get Syd a white beach dress and Shaun a nice white polo shirt for beach pics. Because I KNOW I've got some friends that take awesome photos and we might just get a beach pic done! Woo Hoo! I'm so excited!
 
I'm just getting caught up here. =) DH's friend just got back from a trip to Cancun and DH got all wound up about that. When I looked at the resort, it does look fabulous, but I saw that they have one in Cozumel too. So I was trying to remember what resort was yours Cyn...could I convince him to make the trip to Cozumel instead and give me up for at least a day to meet up with the scrapbookers?....might be a hard sell. =) But I will work on it.

Lin, it's totally doable but be prepared to add at least 3-4 more hours to your trip. There's also a plane from cancun to Cozumel, which is about $70 per person and you'd be here in 15 minutes.

We have quite a few hotels that are both here and in Cancun/Riviera Maya, but ours is listed in the previous post.
And you don't want to go to Cancun, you NEED to come to Coz, hahahahah

Sara, please come!!! Please, please, please!!! There are going to be guys there. Cyn's husband, Sally's husband, Vicki's husband, my husband... But then, how pitiful would it be that we have to fly to Cozumel to meet when we're two hours away. LOL
 
Soco, I turn 52 on October 10th so my birthday celebration will be a bit late but this will definitely be my gift! :-)

And because of the flight times, we won't make it to Cancun until about 7 at night so we will have missed the last flights Cyn. So I think that we will probably spend a night in Cancun and then come to Cozumel the next day!

I'm booking today!!!

You know, I joined the forums when there were about 2 weeks until Cozumel last year. It sounds so amazing!!

Yayy!! Lin, if you want to come over that same day, what you can do is hop on a taxi (about $60-80) and they can drive you to Playa where you can catch the ferry.

I do know. In spite of being totally green with envy, I am so *thrilled* that you all are getting together and that I am going to get to live through it again, through all of you.

Yeah....I'll put the bug in his ear. My husband isn't very social though. And especially with people he doesn't know. So it would take some convincing. =) He would much prefer we never talk to another set of people ever on a trip like that.

But we'll see where we can get with it.
