Wedding Shower Help

I am helping with a wedding shower for a co-worker. We are going with a "recipe" theme. The big poster on the wall will be the "Recipe for Love". Everyone will get recipe cards to fill out and bring back to build up the bride's collection. We will have a pot holder filled with little cooking utensils for the gift. I said I could make little centerpieces for the four round tables that had other "recipes" on them. Like "Recipe for the Perfect Kiss" and surround it with chapstick and stuff...or "Recipe for Date Night".

Unfortunately, my brain is really fried right now and I'm not coming up with other ideas, nor what to put on my recipe cards for the two I have thought of....at least not so that it doesn't sound goofy. Anyone have any ideas??

Have you checked Pinterest at all? They always have cool ideas on there. I can't think straight either right now to offer any ideas but Pinterest popped into my head right away.

That is the first place I went. Lol. But doing "recipe" with other things didn't get me very me good results.

there's this one

Recipe For A Happy Marriage Poem

4 cups of Love
2 cups of Loyalty
Dash of Faith
3 cups of Kindness
4 cups of Understanding
1 cup of Friendship
5 spoonfuls of Hope
1 barrel of Laughter
Pinch of Forgiveness (no substitutions)
Dash of Thoughtfulness (not optional)
Take love and loyalty and mix thoroughly with faith.
Blend in kindness and understanding, add friendship and hope.
Sprinkle abundantly with laughter. Garnish with forgiveness and thoughtfulness.
Bake with sunshine.
Serve daily with generous helpings.

Marriage is like a desert - you have to water it for it to bloom.

that's what I always write on cards for newly-weds :)

Ellen, how cute!

Sara-- Recipe for a Movie Night?
1 sofa, several pillows, I cozy blanket etc.
Little popcorn bucket, bag of popcorn, maybe a little bottle of wine, and some theater candy?

Chris that's perfect!!!

Ellen I love that that happy marriage one, but that's the huge poster in the middle of the wall. I need four other kinds of recipes for the centerpieces.

I'm going to do Chris's Recipe for Movie Night...I might call it "Night In", then recipe for a "Night Out", then a recipe for the perfect kiss, then a recipe for.....ummm....holiday? vacation? shopping trip?? I'm drawing a blank!!

Eva - That's an adorable saying!!

darnit, Chris stole my idea. great minds and all that....

eva, i totally read that as dessert not desert and I was like, "huh?" lol but it got me to thinking....

how about

Recipe for the perfect Sunday (that spelling is intentional) and fill it with sundae toppings - because not only could they use them to make sundaes, they could use them on a Sunday (or any other day) *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* lol

Recipe for a Perfect PicnicBasket, Blanket (or linen), Bread, Crackers, Cheese, Wine or Cider, Two Glasses

Love all these ideas!!

Oh man. I wish I had had an extra couple of minutes before now to read this!! I printed the cards.

I did Recipe for:
"Night In"
"Night Out"
"Perfect Kiss"
"Amazing Honeymoon"

I'm keeping the rest of these for later. :-)

oh. um. pictures...yeah...ummm...that would require my brain being on at the end of the day today.

After we got the staff lounge set up, several of us just plopped down until the shower, which was very low key. (Seriously, one male teacher laid himself down on my library check out counter, I was tucked up on top of the counter with my feet up, and my friend just collapsed in my desk chair.) I didn't think to take a single pic!! Bad scrapbooker!!!

We are soooooooooooo ready for the end of the school year!
