We Need a New Crime Show!!

We have finished NCIS, NCIS Hawaii, NCIS Los Angeles, NCIS New Orleans, all the CSI's except the original, which we are on season 4. We love Forensic Files and the sequel. We tried Criminal Minds and it was just too creepy. Is there anything out there that you have seen that is like NCIS/CSI where it's character driven to an extent, and the SOLVING of the crime is the main thing - not the details and gore of the crime - if that makes sense.

We've also tried the new Hawaii 5-0 and Magnum PI and tried all the FBI's but they just don't do it for us. The fave of all time was BONES!!!! I wish I could find another show like BONES!!!

Any suggestions??

It's only had one short season, but you might like Will Trent (ABC). It's got a new season coming late February. Since I like the same shows you do, it might be OK. I used to watch Criminal Minds but turn off the sound and look away during the creepy parts. Finally quit it entirely. I don't know if it's streaming anywhere but I liked The Mentalist if you haven't watched it.

Have you watched the newest NCIS: Sydney? It's... ok. DH doesn't like it all that much but it's fine.
They're not cop shows per se but either Sherlock or Elementary are good. Jack Ryan was very good. I am coming up blank on any other ones off the top of my head.

I have seen the shorts for NCIS: Sydney but I can't stand the lead Aussie actor so I haven't even bothered to watch it! lol!

Mark and I ran across a series called "Broadchurch" which is based in England, I believe! It was really good! The whole series (maybe 5 or 6 shows) was based on solving one crime! Try it!

A few people have told me about The Mentalist. I keep meaning to watch the pilot. Maybe that's what I should do - watch all the pilots of the suggestions here!!

I started watching it and couldn't get past that Harrison Ford Jack Ryan wasn't there!

I have watched all the episodes so far. I'm still on the fence with it. It seems to show the NCIS formula too brightly - quirky coronor, strange social anxiety genius for the computer stuff, and tension between the two leads who are forced to work together. I have not really clicked with any of the characters until the last episode when the coroner was caught in a hostage situation. I got to see a little more of why he acts the way he does - and it's still distracting to me that he looks like Jim Gaffigan. LOL

I LOVED NCIS New Orleans and I really like NCIS Hawaii, so I hope I can settle in with NCIS Sydney.

I have tried to watch Sherlock and Elementary and just they just didn't work for me.

We watched The Blacklist and I ADORE Only Murders in the Building!!! We will check out The Mentalist!

Ahhhhh, the most delicious David Tennant series!! I did watch that. We are Doctor Who fans here!

LOVED Broadchurch.
Full disclosure: I love anything with David Tennant. Put a 5-hour loop of just him making faces and I'd be enthralled. :p

I am hoping that the actors grow on me. They seem like they are trying too hard to fit into the "box" that their other NCIS counterparts are in.
Is there something specific about that actor you don't like?

Oh not really, maybe it's just the parts that Todd Lasancehe has played over the years in the shows down here, he has always seemed to play smart-ass type characters, which with some actors is great, but with him he just rubbed me the wrong way! lol!
