Ok. It's not cloudy at all here. And I have a confession to make. I suck at taking pictures. I took great ones in high school when I was in journalism class. I was a photo editor of my college newspaper. Now that I'm older, I have read countless tutorials and practiced. I still can't figure out what settings to use on my camera!!!! I tried to take pictures of the setting sun Nana. I got NOTHING what you got. I changed the exposure. I tried to change other settings. I got a beautiful sunny blob. * sigh * anyone want to give me a personal lesson on my exact camera? Maybe then it will stick!!

Our neighbor lent us their special glasses for looking at the sun, it was amazing!! sure wouldn't want to do it without the glasses though. How are you able to take pics without looking into the sun??

I had sunglasses on and used the camera. That was enough not to hurt my eyes. Can't say it was the best focus job!! LOL

I didn't knew this was happening today.

The only thing I've watched 2 times was the Sun Eclips. Is this the right word? LOL

Great shots, Nana! I knew it was happening, but I'm a lazy bones & there was no way I was getting out of my bed at 4:45am to watch it!!! Glad you're in a timezone that made these shots possible though!

Fantastic photos! Thanks for sharing. We couldn't see it here in Sweden, the entire country was under a huge mat of clouds :)

Sara.....there was about three minutes where there were NO CLOUDS in front of the sun at all and I took several photos at all different settings...I had the same..big white blobs...even with the ISO on 100....I have no idea how one should get photos of the sun like that...but the clouds took away all the glare ..so I was lucky enough to catch these where you could actually see it...

although...TRUDY...I did not look straight at the sun...I had no special glasses or filter..so I would point my camera right next to the sun and focus (the clouds) and then close my eyes and move the camera and snap. Sounds crazy..but it was the only way I knew to do it.

If it wasn't overcast where you were at...anyone in the world could have seen this at some point in the last 12-14 hours.... But...if you missed it...pray for very long life for the next time it comes :pound:

Thanks girls....I thought it was cool....Whatever is going on out there in space has always fascinated me!!
