The Final Straw

Wow, Laura, I am in such shock!!! I can not believe what a mess this is!! What a shame that things have to be this way. Just another example of how politcal everything has to be. I feel very bad for those who have honestly entered their layouts to never even have a chance to win by the rules and standards that were given to everyone. How shameful for the digi world!!!
 
My, oh, my - If I had layouts in the contest Laura, I would pull them immediately as you have yours!
A terrible incident and we must protect ourselves and our digital community to make certain it doesn't happen again!
And we should salute those who brought this cheating 'bug' to the attention of others.
 
I have always always entered the SCA, just for fun, but when I saw the initial rules for this I thought noway, its unfortunate, but I saw this as a larger version of the gallery standouts, a popularity contest! But to add insult to injury there now is a flaw within the voting system allowing friends to vote more than one time a day! :tsk:

It was lucky that someone was honest enough to bring up the flaw and possibly stop further abuse of this somewhat disastrous voting system which, IMO was perfectly fine in previous years! It is also admirable for yourself Laura, and, many others who have complete morals and principles to completely withdraw yourself from a 'competition' with no morals, my hat goes off to you, I would have done exactly the same thing :clap2:

Honestly, without going off in a tangent, I personally think that this will be the nail in DST coffin, which is a shame, it was a good site, but in recent years, to much politics for my liking.
 
I'm flabbergasted at the nerve of some cheaters to blacken the spirit of digiscrapping in general. How sick can you get?

I didn't understand the rules anyway .Vote for your favourite layout in a certain category and come back the next day and vote again??
Cannot people make up their mind?

well just spent the last half hour reading through that thread and boy! what complete and utter failure that contest has been!! if isn't shut down then I think DST will LOSE a LOT of followers!! ironic when the contest was supposed to draw in new traffic!!!

I was voting for the layouts that where linked in the topic somewhere here.

I'm cruising that topic at DST, good thing she put down the discovery!
And so good everybody (oke, lots of people) are going to take their layouts out.

What a failure that contest!!
 
Like Ona, I've just spent 30+ minutes reading through the whole saga ... yikes!!! I'd never heard of SCA until this year (I must be living in a bubble!) and I ventured over to DST to check it out the other day. My 1st impressions were "wow, this is a BIG contest!!!!" ... but ... I have to say I'm not really a fan of the kinda of competition with "free-for-all" voting (I don't watch Pop Idol or Britain's Got Talent either for the same kinda reasons ... well that & they fact that Amanda Holden cries all the time!!!).

If I were ever to comtemplate entering a contest, I'd want the judging panel to be made up of industry related professionals and who could critique the entries with non-biased eyes ... KWIM?

Obviously I don't the half of what's gone on over at DST, but what I can say is that it makes me really appreciate the great sense of family we have here at the "O".

The SCA are closed now.
Lee wrote an apology letter and they say will open the contest later... still voting but with improved rules.
 
Thanks for the update Oriana! maybe it was your comments about the Admin boys not knowing what happens when a lot of ladies get pissed off!!! :)

I think you are spot on Ona and Oriana.
I rarely go over there any more and was so surprised by all the chanmges. But it makes me appreciate my O-hOme so much more!
