nana- I was super-scared when I opened this thread :D
Happy Halloween weekend!

Congrats on the news of a boy. Not that it mattered to you one way or another... as long as you get that baby! LOL

I am so happy that you are listening to me and getting that pedicure! Go relax and get pampered, you totally deserve it!

As for me, I am trying to recover from yesterday. Yes, more steam cleaning, these cats are killing me! And then trying to clean the rest of the house without setting it on fire. Oh, yeah, that didn't work. I put the oven on self-clean and started a fire in there. Oops.
I was so beat up by 3 pm I tried to take anp- didn't sleep but I laid down a bit. but I still feel physically ill/pain. We are going on vacation on Tues for a week and I have to get the house clean for the pet sitters. And get the family packed cuz y'all know that they aren't helping
I also have tp get the dog to the rabies clinic this morning, i hope that there isn't much of a line. One year I waited for an hour in the pouring rain, another year I was in and out in 15 mins.

Hope everyone has a great day!

quickie personals

Katrina- I am so sorry that you have to sell your horse, but it sounds like it is for the best all around. I hear ya on the feeling poor too.
Have fun with the family this weekend!

Laurie- eek! I am not scared of snakes for the most part, but I would NOT want to swim anywhere near one.

Clara- the novel can wait? Looks like you did it anyway LOL JK!!
That is so cool that you are goign to work on tracing your heritage. Thank you so very much for your prayers for them.

*interrupting myself*
My brother calls me yesterday- turns out that he looked at the calender, and if the baby is born on her due date and the state takes 7-10 business to clear them to leave the state. they will be home in NJ around Dec 10, or 11th. He declares, "There is no way we can have any type of party on the 12."
NO DUH!!!!! What have I been trying to tell them all along!!!!!!!!!!!??????????

People need to think sensibly! :pound:

*ahem*

Someone PLEASE hide this soapbox from me!!!

Dawn- i am so happy that you are back. the Ooo's have a way of suckign you in, don't they? LOL

Sally- Oh you are doing Market as well this year! Dang, it is the one year that my MIL isn't going,. She is having neck surgery on Nov 2nd and she is sooooo bummed that she is not goign to be there. When you go to Market- look for the Quilt Woman booth- she has a bunch of her stuff hanging there. She did some work for Fons and Porter and another quilt magazine. Also if you see anything by Yolanda Fondura, that is her old partner and she does a lot of work with her fabric lines.
I have to go out to TX next year!

Oh bummer, I just realized that you went yesterday....

Good luck at your show today!!!

Meg- Bass pro sounds like a neat store.
I can't remember what you said about cameras..... are you listing cameras to sell? Caitlyn wasn't a DSLR for Christmas and I am looking for an older model Canon that my IL's can get her.

Trudy-hey there:) you are making me feel guilty- i had grand plans on doing calendars for C-mas... and I haven't done a thing....

Nana- your Ex IL's wanted to TAKE the baby??????? Gah!! I would have freaked too!!!!

ME- technology has come so far! When I had my u/s it was all blurry and blobby. When I was in the hospital with Preterm labor w/ Cait, they had to do an u/s to check her organ dev't (i was 33 weeks) and at first we were worried that we would see"stuff' we didn't want to see (we wanted the sex to be a surprise) . I coudln't tell that it was even a a baby! hahahah!
Congrats again!!!!

Laurie I am so sorry about your aunt.

Better get my butt going...... (but I don't want toooooo)

Have a fabulous day!

Linda -

Chris - Here you go my friend...
soapbox.gif
....I just could never take your soapbox :) I love it when you do it!!! Say it loud and proud!

Football this morning...last game! Off to go get ready! Have a fab day ladies!

Morning all - what plans do you have for the weekend? We are trying to decide how to spend our day. Most of the theme parks have halloween weekend themes, not sure I want to get all involved in that- not into ghouls and scary so we shall see.

I'll try to get back for personals later today

Good morning ladies! So sorry that I've been missing in action. Life is kicking my butt at the moment. Work is crazy...lots of changes and requiring lots of additional time. Mom has completed 4 chemo treatments and almost 4 complete weeks of radiation. So she's halfway there. She is having trouble eating but she has a great attitude and is tough...so she's pushing through. We are completely finished with soccer...had the year end soccer party on Thursday night. But our first basketball meeting is today...so not much rest on that front.

I'll be back in for personals in a bit. Need to check out the gallery!

Nana Linda -- WOO!! CONGRATS!!! LOVE the page!!! Haha I had conversations like that with me mom :)

Chris -- the cameras are a little too old, lol, they're all vintage. I suggest getting the Rebel XT, it's like the second version of the Rebel DSLR line, and it's a great camera. Mine's lasted five years without any problems. Don't get a kit package -- buy the body and then get a zoom lens or 50mm 1.8. You over pay for the kit lens if you go that route. Opps, just googled it -- you can't get it anymore -- looks like the next one is the Rebel XS.
I'm sorry about all the cleaning insanity & packing :( I hope today is much better!

Kat -- Have fun at football!!!

Laurie -- Disney shouldnt be bad -- never been to Disney World, but Disneyland during that time isn't too done up -- it's mostly the New Orleans area that they ghoul up.

Linda -- Wow, your mom is a trooper!! Is it trouble keeping food down or trouble swallowing? I've heard those drinkable yogurts can be good for that. Not the probiotic ones, but the regular drinking ones.

So, yesterday was hard -- I think I'm beginning to see that the store I'm at only really gets action from their CT, and their CT gets everything for free... I'm hoping that's just a fluke, that I'm just not logging in to the cart when paid orders are being made. I'm being paranoid.
At least today there's two home appraisal reports waiting for me to fill out, hopefully it doesn't take me forever since it's been awhile since I did one. I've already forgotten the new changes from the last time I worked there.
I'm going to try and kick myself out of this mood and go get ready for Jeff to get home.

Good morning ladies!! So today I have to get the kids ready for Halloween. Addie is going to be a princess wearing her flower girl dress. We had to get it cleaned and will pick it up today then need to get her a crown and a wand. Then Ethan...I love this boy...wants to be Edward Scissorhands. We have to go and get his costume ready today. I am so excited. Derek let me sleep until 11. We got into a giant fight last night about all the annoying stuff and his negativity lately and him not communicating. He does that "I was helping you" but didn't ask how I needed help thing so it wasn't helpful. We have this fight every single time we are packing or getting something together. Ask me what I need or how I need help. Don't sit in front of the TV or just do stuff. But I am thankful that he wastrying I just don't understand why asking what I needed was so hard. I was busting my butt and had a system going and needed help. Anyway, I am talking nonsense now. Anyway my annoyance with him is gone, he understands why I was so annoyed and why it seemed nitpicky to him but was just so straight nail grating to me. At least I hope so. We just needed to have a blow up and get it all out there so that we could move on. Now we can move on and be happy married couple until the next time we get frustrated and a few months or so. It works for us. :)

So that is all that is going on here I think. So I think I will head off for some personals and then off to the gallery for a minute to work on my obscene goal I set for myself. :)

LindaW - Yay for a baby boy!! Boys are the bestest!! I love my girl but Ethan is sure the sweeter of the two she's cuter to dress up though. Of course I love them both. So, I sure hope to hear that you come back with a gorgeous do and some pretty toes. I was very disappointed getting my toes done here in Fayetteville. They didn't massage my legs or nothing and charged more than in Washington. :( I hope you get the full spa treatment because you deserve it!!

Chris - was the fire a big one or a little one? If it wasn't huge...that happens sometimes. My oven catches little fires on occasion when cleaning too. No biggie. Although I still stand by my theory that Fridays are for wine and not cleaning. Clean on Thursday next time. But as long as the fire sticks to where the food is at it shouldn't be a big deal. That sucks about the kitty messes. I don't know that I would still have kitties living in my house. You are amazing that they are still alive. My husband would have thrown them out. Also as far as Cait and the camera I buy all of my camera stuff througgh an ebay store called Cameta camera and they have some great deals. They sell a lot of refurbished cameras. Here is a link: http://stores.ebay.com/Cameta-Camera I have gotten some amazing deals through them. And I am with Kat isn't that soapbox permanently attached to your feet? Plus it makes you taller. :)

Kat - Hey lady!! Big hugs!!!!!! Haven't seen you in awhile. Enjoy the last football game. I hope it is lots of fun.

Laurie - Have fun playing today. I hope you guys have a great time whatever you decide to do today.

LindaS - I am so glad your mom is keeping such a great attitude through all of this. That is so important. Big hugs for you and prayers for you both. Enjoy the upcoming basketball season.

Meg - Big breaths and smile. Everything is going to come together. I hope that paperwork comes together easily for you and is like riding a bike. :) Hugs!!

Okay...I am off to get some kids costumes together!!

Hi Ladies,

We were up and about early this morning for soccer practice. Boy, it was cold out there. All the little kids had on sweats underneath their uniforms. Thankfully, next week is their last week. Brrr ... it's been fun for Christian, and also good for him learning to play on a team and follow directions from the coach. ;-)

This afternoon I am just home catching up on laundry and doing chores around the house. It's amazing that we go through this routine every weekend, and then it looks like such a disaster by Friday night!

Yesterday I volunteered at the school Halloween party and parade. The kids had so much fun. I don't know how these PreK teachers do it all day with 20 kids. I was zonked after 2 hours with them.

Personals:

Clara - can't wait to see photos of Edward Scissorhands. Now that sounds cool!

Meg - hope today is a better day!

Hiya Lin! I'm back at the O - haven't chatted with you in a while.

Laurie - hope you all are enjoying FL.

Hey Kat - who won the game?

Chris - where are you all going on vacation?

Linda - love the subject line and graphic. :) Congrats on the boy!!

Hiya - quick fly by - will pop back in later....

We lost, but the boys totally played their hearts out and did the best they have ever done so we couldn't be prouder of them!!!!

I'm back. The kids are all ready for trick'o'treatin. Apparently the county wants the kids to go tonight. we'll see how that goes. they are not totally ready but the hair is done, ethan needs makeup cuz my big plan of covering him with flour didn't work. :( My husband always worries about silliness about costumes so he will be covering ethan with belts so that he has buckles all over him. I just made addie a little wand. Derek made scissor rings for ethan so that he can just slip than on. then we covered the blades with glue from a glue gun so that he couldn't cut anyone so that he was safe. I hope that works. I think he'll look pretty good. We'll see. Yay!! I love dressing my kids up for Halloween.

Am I weird for thinking my husband is crazy for insisting that we get him $15/pair tactical socks for work?!?!?!?! He's used this certain type/brand of socks since the academy... I think over-the-calf socks from WalMart would be just fine...

Anyways, I've got a virus - I couldn't concentrate at work... when I came home, I crashed. I'm feeling a little bit better, so I'm going back in to finish my reports tomorrow. Right now I'm putting the finishing touches on the DH's site that goes live Monday. I *really* hope he's a success, lol, because both of our projects being failures would be hard to handle right now.

Tonight I also made this:
http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/savory-snacktime-chex-mix/381a8460-0cd6-4c3f-b077-f93e436c6ae6

We didn't have pretzels or peanuts -- so I used more cheerios and chex! It came out great, and hit my need for something savory. The DH ate all of my rice cakes on his way to work last night, so I was all out of emergency savory snacks. Not as good of choice as the rice cakes, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH...

You ladies would be SOOOOOOOOOOO PROUD OF ME!!!

Got my hair done...which is one of my FAV things to do!! My hairdresser was laughing at me....she said "You really enjoy getting your hair done, don't you???" I hugged her and told her YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! I swear, I would almost pay her an extra $20 just to massage my head for 30 minutes while washing!!!! I asked about a pedicure...they were booked up :icon_frown: So when I was done....I went shopping.....bought me a few clothes....WOW....I never do much of that.....and then....I went to another place and walked in to see if they had anytime for a pedicure...A lady had just cancelled....so I got the pedicure too!! WOOOOT!!! Pretty, hair, new clothes and pretty feet!!! what more could a girl ask for????

I am now ready for my goblins tonight

Oh.....here is some more Halloween spooking for ya:

I am going to make coffee....I will be back in a little bit to leave ya some love!!!

Sorry I didn't get back yesterday....I was busy LOVIN ME!!!! :hurt:

Good morning and happy Halloween. I said to Caitlyn yesterday that I was so sad- this is my first year of not t or t-ing since Scott was born. And before that I was always teaching PreK and had to dress up and party for the little ones.
Cait is over at a friend's house and is t or t-ing there. Scott and his GF are going around together, and I am going to be all alone (with my bucket of candy!)

I am trying hard to not stress, we are leaving for vaca on Tues and I feel like I still have so much to do. We are going to Disney and I am really nervous... what are we thinking? Gary has been throwing up every day, I have been needing naps/feeling awful the last few days... and now I am OCD-ing over the weather there. Every weather channel has rain forecasted but all on different days. And now it is going to be colder then I expected so I need to throw in some jeans... gah! Vacation is supposed to be fun, not stressful....

Oh well......what can I do besides stress? LOL

Nana Linda- i am so proud of you!!!!!! That is so awesome that you pampered yourself!!

Meg- hope that you feel better today. All of you projects are going to ROCK! I have faith in you!!
As for the socks, I am the same way- I don't get why Gary has to have the more expensive choice, but I guess sometimes he does. If YMG is on his feet all day, the socks might make a difference in how he feels?

Clara- Edward Scissorhands? wow! That is an impressive costume choice! Bet he looked great! Did everyone have fun?

Kat- awwww, sorry that your little man didn't win- but yes, so proud of trying their best. How has he been doing at school? Any more allergy issues?

ME- LOL- I used to teach at a hospital based Day Care center. Most of the parents were nurses at the hospital and we would each say to the other that we didn't know how the other side did it. I could never ever be a nurse and here they were loving it. Then they would look at us, the teachers and all of the kids and shake their heads.
I miss teaching and being with the kids. It just got too hard to do it when my guys were little.

I am probably missing people- so Hi to Laurie and Trudy and everyone else in my magic mirror!

xoxo

Halfway there Linda..... your mom seems like she is one heck of a strong lady! I am thinking of her often. And you too- hang in there and try to not spread yourself too thin (I know- too late for that!)

Good morning ladies! Thanks for all of the encouraging words. They mean so much. In my mind, we all live on the O cul-de-sac and each morning we trade off making baked goodies and coffee and sit around and visit! That's what the Daily O's are for me!

Chris, where are you going on vacation? It sounds wonderful...no matter where you are going! :-) We had talked about a November vacation when the kids were out of school...but Mom being sick has changed that picture. Maybe for spring break...

Kat, glad that the boys had a good time with football. We ended soccer last Sat. and I can't say that I was sorry that we didn't have to be at a game at 8:30 or 9 yesterday. However, when we got to the basketball meeting, found out that all of Shaun's games would be at 8:30 or 9:30. Sydney's schedule is online so I need to take a look to see what's going to drive me crazy this winter. :-)

ME...I'm so glad that you are back!!! Of course, that means that we are going to get to see lots of baby layouts!! Woo Hoo!!

Clara, I can't wait to see the layouts of Edward Scissorhands! We did trick or treating last night. Shaun went as a little old man...he is so funny! Had a cane, huge bow tie, glasses, fake nose and a hat. And each house he would tell a different joke. Started off by stealing his sister's joke at the first house...leaving her high and dry! Sydney went as a soccer player...she said that she wanted to be herself!

Meg, that recipe makes me hungry...which then caused me to think about red velvet pancakes...and now I'm starving. Congrats on your designing gig. I hope that it goes well. I love the idea of Faith Sisters...just haven't found enough time to spread myself any thinner.

Ok...Nana Linda...how did all of your little munchkins look last night? And what a great day of pampering...sounds awesome! Can't wait to see your layouts as well.

Oh, Chris, I just saw...going to Disney! Wow! That's fantastic. I hope that it goes well and turns into a relaxing time... ((hugs)) Just take your time on getting things ready...and don't stress about perfection. It's the memories of the time together that is really the best.

Chris- enjoy- are you staying on property? then gary can hang back if he wants. We are enjoying the warm temperatures here- just nice to be in warmer climate!

I had another post, but lost internet, so I will do personals again tomorrow- we are headed to the beach and dh just got back from his indoor workout- I did outdoor and was able to get some amazing photos of a blue heron- wow- up close and personal!

Halloween5.gif
Hope you are all ready for your little goblins!! It is not supposed to be very nice today :rain: so not sure how many trick or treaters will actually show up?? I was MIA yesterday, as had a full day of cleaning and shopping with DH. I have been busy working on a birthday layout for my daughter and it seems to be taking me forever to get finished, but will hopefully finish it off today hopefully before I head to work. Yes I have to work today from 11:00 to 4:00 (darn) love my weekends with my MG.

Nana Linda - sounds like your day of pampering was fantastic!! Good for you, and you are right what more could a girl want?? Life is good!! Can't wait to see your Halloween layouts, I am still waiting on pictures of my grandkids in costume, can't wait to see them!!

Laurie - So Happy that you are enjoying the warmer temps on your vacation! Enjoy the beach!

Chris - Oh I hope that you both are feeling much better for your holiday!! Please don't stress so much, it only makes things worse, everything will work out, you will see. Don't sweat the small stuff, there is nothing you can do about the weather so please just try to relax and have fun!!

Linda S - Wouldn't it be great if we could all physically get together and have coffee and goodies and perhaps scrap for a few hours also!!! Wow your mom is halfway through her treatments, what a brave lady she is and it is so great that she has you to care for her too!

Clara - Can't wait to see photos of your kids!! Edward Scissor Hands!!! What a great idea! Hope they had fun getting treats!

Meg - Feel better and I know that you will do a wonderful job on you're hubby's site! And I am sure your site will do fabulous too!! Be patient, good things come to those who wait (as my mother used to say) LOL

Me, Kat and everyone else that I've missed hope your Halloween is SPOOKTACULAR!!

Hi girlies! A quicky from me again...better that than nothing though?!

Chris-I hope your vacay is fun and relaxing! I think there is a chance of rain in FL almost everyday so it's hard to plan a dry trip LOL.

Everyone, Have a great time trick-or-treating if you go! Don't eat too much candy :).
xoxoxo

I'm not saying either way just throwing something in here...it depends what he is wearing them with. DH is not particular, amazingly enough, with his Army boots but with his hiking boots none of his socks cost less than $10. If he was a soldier soldier and not a medical in the hospital soldier I know he would be much more particular about his socks. I'm with you though and buy all my socks at Target.

Oh well......what can I do besides stress? LOL

Ummm...NOT STRESS!!!!!!!

OKay, I would be stressing too. Are you driving or flying? It will be fun, you just have to get there. That is what I have found anyway. You need some of those travel vomit bags. I should send you some. Those take some of the stress out of traveling I think. Then you can travel about and if someone gets sick, they have the vomit bag, you put them in a cab an send them to where you are staying. Hugs. Everything will be okay and you will have a good time. Just relax as best you can. Let me know if you want some of those travel bags and I can send you some to wherever you are staying. Hugs lady!!

LindaS - Shaun sounds hilarious and that is great about Sydney wanting to ber herself...as Ethan learned the other day that would mean she was wearing regalia and not a costume.

Okay so while I am sitting here Addie is sitting on the floor in her princess dress and I had just put her candy up because she was sneaking it at dinner. So she was sitting there smiling at me trying to look cute to convince me I should give her candy without saying anything. My goodness...she is too much and I am worried about how much more of a handful she will be as she get older.

Laurie - Don't you just hate losing your posts? I hope you are having a blast in Florida and staying warm.

Trudy - Sorry you had to work today and missed your weekend day with YMG. I hope you get some awesome little goblins at your door. I hate that so many costumes are so unoriginal these days. I try not to let the kids do the plain old bought costumes, although last year Ethan was an alien from Walmart. Generally that is not the case.

Okay, sorry for all the posts in here but I am trying to get my post count where it is supposed to be by the end of the day. We had a good time with t'o't-ing yesterday and today. Apparently they rescheduled Halloween to yesterday and we didn't plan ahead as to what we were doing and just ran around here last night because it was too late to get very far by the time we had the kids ready and a plan. :( So after looking things up I found out they were t'o't-ing at the mall today so we got them dressed up again and headed up there. Everyone LOVED Ethan's costume. Addie was cute as always. It was just great to have Ethan be the one that was so cute and so much fun to get dressed up this year because it happens so rarely having a little sister. It was great having so many people my age walk by and see him and say as the walk by "look!! It's Edward Scissorhands!! That is so cool!!" Ethan got a kick out of it.

So, that's our day. I hope everyone else has a great Halloween.
