whoa. SO glad Chris has power! now we gotta pray for the millions of others still in the dark. what a bummer this is. i keep thinking of those people in Queens whose whole neighborhood burned down.
it's snowing here. just that kind that's halfway between rain and snow. snain?:smow::rain: i'm probably going to stay close to home again today. no reason to venture out in The Mess. i've been doing laundry and vacuuming and dusting and running The Robots. i have to get the energy up to dust my library. lots of my junque laying around that has to be moved....somewhere. that's the problem. i keep moving things from place to place, but not ever being able to FIND a permanent place for it.
is the sun shining anywhere east of Iowa today??

We really really lucked out, very little damage to my immediate neighborhood. Lots and lots of trees and wires down. People can't get in or out of town and most of town is still w/o power.
My FIL's business is in Carlstadt and is under 5 ft of water. He and my BIL are there now trying to rescue computers and servers- but everything is just a mess. They were flooded when the Moonachie Levee broke. The Shore- just heartbreaking-- to see the Seaside Pier, just gone....And all of the subways in Lower Manhatten, flooded and no idea when they will be up an running.
I am soooo grateful that we came out ok, but my poor state....
Thanks you so much for good thoughts! I haven't been anywhere elsae yet at the O, but I know I saw Leah (mommyish) and Renne both checked int hat they were ok on FB.
How about Suzy? Has anyone heard from her or Nancy??

Great day in Sweden. Weather is boring, but eveyone is feeling well - including me. Don't happen often LOL Almost you start expecting someone to have an accident or get sick
My sis' operation went well last week, she's e-mailing me now from the hospital. She still have problem talking and there is to be some radiation, but the drs are very optimistic.
Good day all! We are still without power and now the lines to get gas to power the generators are so long - my son stood in line for over 2 hrs. During the time he was in line people tried to cut and the police were called - gas worth more than gold. May revert to siphoning gas from car lol I feel like I am in that new tv show revolution
Chris so glad your power is back on but so sorry about your FIL and his company - that flood was one of the many devastations in NJ and the tri state area. Hoping for the best.

Eva, glad your sister did well and that things seem optimistic. i can't imagine how difficult this is. i have a good friend being treated for cancer, and she's exhausted and on an emotional roller coaster.
Nancy, this has to be tough. gas lines. ICK! it brings back memories of the 1970s. i hope things get turned around fast for all of you. i'm pretty sure that that TV show is pretty accurate as to what can happen when someone or something turns off the power. good luck. i'm listening to WOR in NYC, and it sounds like some of the trains are coming back on slowly.

It's a cold Halloween here -13C. We are supposed to get 4cm of snow pellets tonight which I am guessing is hail, lol. Chloe is home sick with a nasty head cold, poor thing blowing her little nose non stop.

So glad that my O friends are doing well. (Although without power Nancy, I'm sure that it doesn't feel that well.) So sorry Chris about the challenges facing your father-in-law and brother-in-law.

boo- just got home from work- the change over is killing me- I worked 8am to 9pm today and got paid for my regular salaried 8-6 day- grrrrr- I left the computer at work and will head back on Friday- sadly tomorrow I have to be up early to take my car in to get fixed- grr I just wanted a day home- oh well.
