Seeking Blending Techniques

I have only one technique in my wheel house for blending, but it doesn't always work for me and what I envision. What are some blending tips and tricks you can share with me (and us) that could help bring my pages to the next level?

I get very good blending results with the blend if function in Photoshop. This works perfectly to blend layers together. You can find it in in the FX layer styles-blending options. Down at the list are two options for current and underlying layers. You have to play with the sliders to get your wanted settings depending on your artwork or page. Works very good on artwork and artjournal pages. Check it out on google there are much free tutorials online!

I use the blending in the layer styles for making my journaling more realistic instead of the words looking like they are floating on the page.
