Pinning It

So I did a random search for Digital Scrapbooking on Pinterest. The first time I've done it (though I don't know why I haven't before). And guess what site was pinned very close to the top of the results!!! The comment underneath was "I should check this out". I hope we get lots of good talk on Pinterest gals!! Pin some of your awesome layouts and send people to the O!!!!

:)

How'd you manage that? I have put up digital scrapbooking as a search on pinterest and didn't get anything at all. I was frustrated with that!!! couldn't figure out how to randomly search the site!

I pin my new O favs as I have too many in my favs here to easily find them, quicker to scan- quiet a few have been repinned too!

That is such a great idea-- I have a board for scrap stuff but I have next to nothin on it.

Laurie- the Favorites here in the gallery are awkward to go through (IMHO) so Pinterest would be a great way to do it.

PINTEREST is the worst time eater ever Phylis BUT it's got some amazing ideas in it. I use Chrome and I have a little thing from the Chrome store called Timer and I use that to only allow myself specific time frames to play for just that reason. I could spend days on there.

If anyone needs an invitation I'd be happy to invite - just shoot me a GMAIL to suzycupcake

always chatty at the O!!
I check Pinterest on my phone. I think it takes less time that way and I only see one thing at a time instead of 50. Plus I can do it when I'm waiting for stuff.

i love the ideas on Pinterest. There is no conversation necessary like Fb or twitter which I like. I can get lost in all the pretty images there for hours. Its like a never ending magazine!

What a great idea Sara. I mainly just do food...serriously addictive. Add scrapbooking to the mix and I will never move off Pinterest...will need Suzie's timer.

I'm on Pinterest, same name, and have two scrapping boards - mainly because in the early days my original one often didn't show up. ???

I have never understood how to do a search on Pinterest so if anyone can tell me how I'd be a happy...pinner!

The search stinks on Pinterest that's for sure. I saw a digital template when I was just browsing the "Everything" page and ended up doing a search for "digital scrapbooking". I got a handful of results. It does perplex me why you can't see "more" results....but oh well. I spend plenty of time on it anyway!! :) It is a time waster....but it's the best time waster in a long time. I've made so many recipes and crafts from it now! It's fun! Cave to peer pressure people. Pin!!!!

A friend of mine has a pin where she pins everything she's tried. I keep thinking I should do that too. I've used it for a ton of stuff. LOVE IT!!!

Is anyone concerned about having their page taken pinned by stranger?

My son-in-law doesn't want photos of children on Facebook etc. he doesnt mind my posting them to our gallery which I've assured him is "safe" for lack of better word.

What are your thoughts on this? Just curious?

I guess, I would never assure anyone that a public gallery is safe. Granted, we don't have the traffic and views here on Oscraps that they do on Pinterest, but people could still take our layouts from the gallery here too.

I haven't pinned any layouts yet though, so I don't know what kind of views it would get though.

I've pinned layouts from our gallery, I have started using pinterest as a place to hold my favorite sbing layouts, since I love layouts from various galleries. They do get views, and they have been re-pinned. I suppose Jacqueline, if you don't want your layouts pinned, you'd better make a note when you upload, and be aware that nothing is safe...

Jacq- I hadn't thought of that aspect of it. I sometimes feel like I am in a losing tide of trying to keep stuff private.
Is there any such thing as "Private" on the internet any more?

Sadly, I think you're right Chris ... I don't think there is such a thing as privacy on line. I know that I certainly would NOT post anything that was most intimate / personal to me. All the stuff I post (galleries, blog posts, Tweets etc) is done knowing that the whole world can see if, if they so choose.
