My friend

He's been with us for 13 years. But now it is coming to an end.
The last six months he has gotten got really old. He experienced issues with his balance, had problems standing up and got tired real quick.
But he still was so happy, especially when we went for a walk all together or when he got spoiled with goodies and treats.

Last week he spontaniously got a small fracture in his leg. He couldn't get up, couldn't walk and it hurt a lot. Teh vet gave him painkillers, and he is doing okay right now, but he can't be on painkilliers all of the time. The vet told us it would only be a matter of time before it would happen again.
This means we will have to say goodbye soon.

We will miss our friend, our Joep!

I'm so sorry to hear this. He looks a real sweetie and has been with you for a long time. It's sad when we have to lt them go, but it's kindest in the end.

To say goodbye will be the hard decision to take, stay strong! I deeply hope that there is something bigger than the the life, someplace: haven, summerland, or whatever it's called, where we will be together with our babies again! ray:

I am so sorry to hear this Jeannette he looks adorable those eyes melt your heart ...it is always sad to lose a friend I lost mine some years ago he will always be with me I have a small photo of my dog by my side in my craft room to remind me of him it still hurts not have him around I am sure you will feel the same when the time comes as my old Brandy who was a J.R. tucked his little head under my arm and fell asleep peacefully at the vets....I am thinking of you and sending lots of hugs.x

Hugs. It just made my heart lurch, reading this. Each pet I have lost has devastated me. It's so hard to let them go. Focus on the time you have left and make the most of it. Then when the time comes, know that he won't be suffering anymore.

It's been a rough week. We had our Joep put to sleep this Tuesday. I would never have imagened I'd miss him so much.
Our house is so quiet, no dog running towards me when I get home, or begging for a treat when I eat. We all miss him a lot. It will take some time!
