yay for sticking with it Jean, your challenge, your rules! Personally I would find doing the photos harder, I lead a very boring life and like just taking photos as the whim takes me, lol! Sitting here my desk is a TOTAL mess but I can easily reach out and grab something that is catching my eye and glue it down and then later add some paint to it etc etc. I find I am thinking less about what I am doing which in a way is good, perhaps it's that elusive 'use your intuition' part of doing your art instead of pre-planning everything! :giggle4:

However, I really do love your art pieces, as I have said before, they seem very organic to me and in touch with the earth itself, very natural and beautiful. Days 9, 11 and 14 are my stand outs at the moment! But I am sure that would change tomorrow as each one speaks to me differently on any given day it seems! (I really really loved Day 7 a little while ago!! :))

I've probably only done one new mixed media in the last eight days, but here are the photos up to date.

z_days_33-40.jpg

The last one is really nice as the "Easter bunny" showed up early in our yard about 7 pm. We hadn't seen one here in weeks and then poof, just when needed. I started these with the totally absurd Easter rhino (I think it's a rhino) I saw at Walgreens.

Another 8 days of photos and we're over halfway through. The one for "strike a pose" was fun as I did it holding my eclipse themed mixed media while out in the front yard watching the early phase of the eclipse.

Once again, another 8 days of photos. I forgot to post it yesterday so now I've got day 65 waiting too. The prompt is yellow and I enjoyed doing it.

Day 80 has arrived. Hard to believe! Here are eight more days of photos from the prompts. I interpreted the prompts VERY loosely some days. :giggle4:

Today's photo prompt is "I made this." I decided to do a new little mixed media piece for it. I especially wanted to do that as it is my 80th birthday and just seemed appropriate. I have a new tube of cerulean blue acrylic paint that formed the beginning stage. The collage is illustrations from an envelope I received. I used other colors of acrylic and then colored pencils. I've been following the fairy garden thread and it made me think of a title for this piece: "Where Fairies Have Danced." My photos of the piece aren't great so this is an actual scan instead. The original is about 8 x 5 inches, so small.

:bowdown3: :bowdown3: Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jean, what a milestone reaching 80! :heartpumplove: :birthday2: and goodness, what a wonderful collection of photos, they really are all so very interesting and I LOVE your interpretations of the prompts, to me it makes it all the more 'personal and unique'!! The title for your art piece is just perfect! The added pieces of the flower paper really brings this wonderful abstract to life, it makes me feel that the fairies are dancing so quickly, too quick for the human eye to see so they appear as swirls of beautiful light! Such a beautiful art piece! :dancingbfly::heartpumppink:

The countdown is certainly on, only 10 days left for me as I type this! I must say I will be happy to have it done so I can slow down a bit and enjoy the processes of creating a piece in a more leisurely way! :giggle4:

Almost to the end!!! :yesss:
Here are days 89 - 96. The prompt for "weekend fun" came on a Tuesday and mowing the lawn isn't DH's idea of fun, but a lot of people do that on the weekends, so I improvised. There are prompts for the next two days but not the last two. Since #1 was a self portrait and #98 is "me" I'm going to move it to #100 to begin and end on the same theme. Don't know what the other prompts will be yet. I do have some multimedia pages to record from random days during this 100 day challenge, but later for them.

100 Days DONE! :dancing6: Here are the last four days of photos. The little red dog we call Jimmy as I got him for Valentine's Day to give my father who was in a nursing home and failing. He died at the end of January 2003, so never got to see the adorable doggy. I wanted Jimmy to get in the photo with my mixed media piece on the prompt of red.

I'll be back to wrap up the mixed media part. I'm still working on today's. It will be the 21st in my small sketchbook and there are a few others on other papers and some digiscraps I meant to be a part of this (at least one anyway.) Note on the photo prompts, "me" was #98 and there were none for 99 and 100. So I moved 98 to 100, chose red for 98 and yesterday for 99 picked my favorite of the day's photos while we were out birding.

Here are the last seven mixed media pieces in the little sketchbook I set out to fill. The first one was way back when I had an idea but the collage was nice as is and didn't fit the idea. Second is one with the free flowing ink writing that was my idea. Third is what I did the day before the total eclipse in anticipation of it. Fourth is from the photo prompt of yellow. I've already shared the fifth one from my birthday using cerulean blue (post #43). Sixth is focused on red for day 98 which I call "I learned to disappear." Last is day 100 inspired by a marsh we visited while birding.

These are all small, 8 x 5 inches and meant to explore ideas more than to be finished products. Doing one a day got to be too too much, but I've gotten something from it with new ideas and some freedom mixed in.

Congrats Jean, what a fabulous body of work you have completed! Just love the abstracts you have added, especially the free flowing ink and the marshes ones! Maybe it's the green in them, but they both stand out for me. NOW that I have a bit time and still in an arty mood I really do want to do some small abstracts to just play and have fun! But YAY! you did it!! dance4 :goldstars:
