Hello all. I am a new member at Oscraps by virtue of being a new subscriber to 52 Inspirations. I started scrapbooking 'way back in 2002 or so, but only made a hand-ful of paper layouts before I switched to digital. I think I was doing digital even before there was much of a concept of "digi-scrapping". The first digital layout that I ever posted online is in the gallery at Scrapbook-Bytes. I'm not sure where the original of that layout is, so I uploaded the small image to my Flickr photostream so I can share it.
I would have had an image here of this first uploaded scrapbook page.
When I first started scrapping with paper, I decided to use 8.5x11 because of the relatively high cost of using 12x12 books. So, my first digital pages are also formatted for 8.5x11. Once I decided that I was going to primarily keep my pages in electronic format and print small version at 8x8 or 6x6, I moved to the square format. I still create at 3600x3600 pixels so as to allow for the possibility of printing at a full 12x12 size, but so far I've been happy with printing only a subset of the pages I create and printing them in the smaller sizes. With the ready availability of turning these into a book, I'm seriously thinking of using one of those services to print up my pages.
So -- I'm not new to digiscrapping, but I just now discovered Oscraps. Heck, let's be honest, I just now discovered a TON of new shops and communities that I had no idea existed. I found Oscraps through a Google search for "P52" and "Project 52", saw the 52 Inspirations stuff, and immediately subscribed and joined the site.
I'm just finishing up a month-long challenge to blog "A-to-Z" with my own personal addition to this challenge of making a "brag-book" page for each letter. Here's one of the brag book pages:
... and here was an image from one of my brag book pages
And if you want to see all the pages and the blog posts with the explanations and credits, feel free to come visit my blog. I'll have to give you folks the link after I get up to the 15 minimum number of posts.
I've been working on a set of LOAD (Layout A Day) pages using some of the Every{DAY} Life kits which Cinzia has been developing. I definitely won't have a page for every day, but for those days where we *do* have pictures, I'm going to try and get a page finished. The 52 Inspirations looked like a lovely complement to my LOAD project. I don't know that I'll go back to the earlier weeks right now -- maybe when I take my vacation later this year -- but I do plan to plunge right in with the current challenge.
(Of course, the "challenge" I face right now is to get the requisite 15 posts made so that I can upload my challenge layout ...)
So -- Hi everyone! I'm Elsi. I live in Texas, travel for my job, and carry lots of scrapbooking supplies with me on my PC's hard drive. I'm looking forward to getting to know you folks here at Oscraps.
