Internet Browser Suggestions....

We have had our internet service through Verizon for about 12 years....when we first signed up, MSN was free with the service and as long as we stayed with Verizon...we would keep receiving for free....well...this has been my main browser for 12 years.....but.....yeah.....here it is now.....MSN has decided to stop their relationship with Verizon all together and as of March 1 we will have to pay to keep MSN....THAT AIN'T HAPPENIN!!!!!!!!!

So..................tell me which browsers you like better.....and why...I need to decide so I can start transfering my stuff over.....uuuhhmmm...HATEFUL MSN doesn't allow exporting.....so all of email, addresses, favorites....all of it has to be done one at a time....I have searched the net and nothing suggested for MSN exporting works. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...tell me where to go....I already have Google Chrome and I am not super crazy about it...but I don't use it much....

Oh yeah....I gotta get a new email addy too...blllllleeeehhh....I can keep my MSN email...but will have to sign into hotmail to access it....don't like that either, because I like having my email right there at a click....

uuuggghhh....sometimes I just hate change!!!

I've been a Firefox fan for many years but as a Hotmail account user working on a Mac, it just wouldn't behave itself. So I switched to Chrome - like 2 days ago, and so far I'm finding Chrome fast & responsive and it hasn't crashed out once (unlike Firefox). The only thing that's really bugging me about Chrome is that I can't seem to link my images - I'm bound to be doing something wrong though.

Can't help regarding MSN as I never us it.

I can't help with MSN either. We have used SeaMonkey ever since Netscape died. It basically is like Firefox but has its own email too. I really like it and DH only uses it, but I have switched to Chrome for most of my browser use. I find it fast, easy and very visual. I am not convinced it is as secure as I'd like and its updating itself without asking is a mixed blessing. I have a gmail account (as well as email in SeaMonkey) and like it pretty well.

Selena - can I help with Chrome and linking images?

Yes please!!

I've been able to copy the image and paste into my post using the mountain icon, which shows up as coding rather than the actual picture before I submit my post. In Firefox one got the full picture of your LO which you could then highlight and copy the url to make it clickable. But I haven't been able to work out how to attach the url coding around the img coding.

Does that make sense?

Yes, I know what you mean. I just highlight the text for the image (something like [IMG..../IMG]) then use the link icon (globe with chain) to fill in the link url which then wraps around the image bit.

See if that works.

I had used Firefox for a really looOOoong time and for some odd reason the Firefox people kept fixing what wasn't broken and well . . . broke it. I'm now on Chrome. =]

always chatty at the O!!
I like both FF and Chrome. I think with Chrome you can have an email set up with it using gmail. That stinks that you have to make a change after all this time.

I've used Chrome for years and never had problem linking images. Mind you I use Windows and PC.
Here's what I do:
Open 2 tabs, one with gallery other with forum

Copy URL layout from gallery by right clicking on layout copy image URL
Return to forum tab

Paste to little mountain thingie

Go back to gallery tab
Copy web address at top

Return to forum
Highlight URL of page ( for some reason it likes highlite from left to right ) in your post

Click on "link" thing and paste link address

It will show image URL enclosed by link address
To confirm just check the preview

Make sense :)

I use safari on my iPad, but no msn.
On my laptop I have Internet Explorer. MSN is for free. Actually I always thought msn was for free. It's with some adds.

I wish they could take some parts of FF and some parts of Chrome. I actually switch back and forth between the two. Like Katherine said FF has a way of breaking things, usually just as they work the bugs out of the last update.
But I also use the FF add ons more than the Chrome ones.
So basically, I use FF th emost (with the IE Tab add on) and Chrome when I am too frustrated with FF.
