I tripped and fell flat in my driveway yesterday afternoon.

I had decided to do some weeding yesterday. It was hot and sweat was getting on my glasses so I took them off and laid them down. I went in the house and realized I had forgotten my glasses. When I went outside to get them, I was so focused on seeing where they were that I tripped and fell flat with both my hands and the side of my face hitting. My right hand took the majority of the fall. I scraped both hands and my right hand is in a wrist/hand brace. It’s bruised but not hurting as bad as yesterday. I felt pretty stu laying there in my driveway for sure!

Thank you for the encouragement, Cheryl! It could have been much worse. My right hand is pretty sore but I don’t think it’s broken. My knees are bruised but it could have been so much worse. I thank God my right hand isn’t broke as I’m right handed. I’ve been working today with a splint on it.

I have taken quite a few falls over the years, the last one was when we moved into this house. The back garden is on a slope and I went for a walk to look at all the plants on my second day there, I was concentrating on not stepping on a drift of daffodils that had just come up, so lost my balance and fell face first into an azalea bush!!! Those little twiggy stems are sharp so I ended up with some scratches on my face and lower arms. My knee also copped it and was swollen and sore for a few days as well! and yes, first thing I did was look around me to see if the new neighbor next door had seen me!!! Talk about sore and sorry the next couple of days! You can STILL see the damage it did to the plant to this day, there is a clear line runing through the top of it, where it was kinda separated by my face/head!!! hahaaa!!!! I have a giggle everytime I walk past it now!

Oh, Ona! I’m sorry that happened to you! I’m sorry you got scratched up but am glad you can laugh about it now! I’m also that you had no lasting effects such as damage to your eyes. Twigs and branches can do a lot of damage!
