A new jumping spider
I have named him "Buddy"...he is so tiny and adorable! He is hanging out above my stove and has just sat there watching me while I was making dinner. I decided to see if he would like some water and put a drop on my index finger and put it right below him and he actually put his two little front legs onto my finger and drank some!!!
I have never had a jumping spider do that before...it was so precious! We have placed droplets of water in front of them when they are on a flat surface before and they have enjoyed it, but having him/her actually partially go onto my finger was just the cutest
I know some of you might think I am crazy and y'all are scared of spiders like I used to be. I used to be TERRIFIED of them, but in this big old house we have had quite a few helpful ones over the last 5 years and I have gotten used to them. The jumping spiders are my favorite, of course...they are smart and CUTE!
Here's my "Buddy"...I hope he will stick around for a while...
Not the greatest photo....I have my contacts in and my vision up close isn't the greatest, especially with my contacts in, and it was difficult to see what kind of pic I was actually getting

*Edited to add that I usually name spiders more interesting names like Alfred, Frankfurt, Felix, Bertha...lol This little guy is smaller than the two other jumping spiders that we discovered in the kitchen yesterday, so I gave him more of a baby name...heehee!

Edited again because just now after posting this I went to see if Buddy would drink more water and he did, then I got even more on my finger and he actually hung out on my finger licking it up for about 2 minutes before climbing back onto the cabinet
This is the first time that I have ever willingly had a spider on me
I called my daughters to come take a pic for me...they love jumping spiders, too
