Hurricane

We in Florida are hunkering down for Hurricane Irma. She's bigger than our whole state. The latest track is bringing it up the west coast towards us (Tampa Bay) and they say it'll be a Cat 2 by the time it gets here. We are securing our house and staying put since we are not in an evacuation zone. Needless to say, I won't be online for a while since there will undoubtedly be power outages afterward. So keep us in your thoughts. Be safe, all my fellow Floridians.

I hope you and all our Florida friends are safe. My daughter & son-in-law are in Polk County, FL and they were hit pretty hard for several hours. They have a lot of damage & no electricity but they are safe. So grateful. I lived in central Florida for almost 50 years and I've learned, having been through many hurricanes, electricity is a wonderful commodity. Hope it returns back to you soon! Take care. Sending prayers your way.

It was hard to pinpoint Irma's path - she kept wobbling. It looked like we would get the eye over us, but then she veered east. We were shuttered up so we felt fairly safe. After all that, we got some tropical wind gusts, then nothing. A few tree limbs fell, but that's all. The biggest thing was loss of power and that came back this morning. I feel bad for all those who got it worse than we did. We were just lucky.

I am glad you didn't have anything too major there!! Here in Alabama, they closed schools yesterday and today, but all we got was a bit of wind and rain...better safe than sorry, I suppose ;)
