How much daylight do you have right now?

So we were having a conversation in the Daily O's for Monday, 12/5 about the lack of daylight we are getting right now. I was lamenting about my 10 hours and 18 minutes...until Eva stopped by and gave me her numbers.

So tell me, how much daylight are you getting where you are?

Today we get 5 hrs 56 min.

On Dec 21 (the Winter Solstice - shortest day of the year) we get 5 hrs 29 min.

Right now we have 9 hours and 15 minutes of daylight. On Winter Solstice it will be 9 hours even. I love how the days start getting longer so close to Christmas, it's something to look forward to after the holidays are over.

I live in Germany, we have 8 hours between sunrise and sunset, but at the moment it's only dark, very cloudy, damp and cold...just terrible!!!!
No sun- I have the feeling it's not getting light at all....

I am in Toronto, Canada - it gets light around 7 AM and is dark by 4.30 pm. So daylight lasts around 9.5 hours. This is at 50 degrees north....

I also know that the islands of Svarlbard in the northern Atlantic - above 66 Degrees north - have been in the winter night (as in 24 hours of darkness) since Mid November - thanks to a youtuber who regularly vlogs from there.

I have a friend in Alaska and she is in a lot of darkness right now!

Toronto is actually closer to 45 Degrees North. My apologies for the incorrect information.

50 Degrees North in Ontario, is up near Timmins and Hearst (Ontario) along Highway 11, a somewhat remote area. Also my spouse's old stomping grounds. Shania Twain also grew up in Timmins as well.

When I was up there during the Xmas Holidays, from my memory, many years ago, the sunlight barely lasted from 8 AM to 4 PM.

I just looked cuz I want to be official and all that - 9 hours and 52 minutes. It sure doesn't seem like that, but that's what it shows.

Eva @tanteva that is a beautiful picture which makes me wonder at my complaints that the sun sets before 5:00 pm here now (4:57 today and just over 9 hours after sunrise). But I'm sorry, I'm glad not to have snow even if it brightens the view.

Not enough !!
In France today we have had 8h10 of daylight.
I don't like december and winter, cause I leave home at night to go to work, and I also leave my work at night...

Obvs-- not enough!
It doesn't help since I am surrounded by woods, the setting sun gets blocked well before 4.30 pm.

ETA: I scrolled up to see what you all said-- consensus is....... "not enough" LOL

LOL...I don't get as much sun as I would like in the summer. But after reading some of these comments, I'm not going to trade it in!
