Getting older stinks. I fondly remember the days when I would wake up physically feeling fine. I would be cranky and groggy to be sure- but at least I was able to walk like a human. I never was at the last figure here, but I am pretty sure I was in the next to last spot., These days, I start out my mornings in the second image and slowly work my way to the fourth one.

th

So I have to ask, where are you in the mornings?

It doesn't take hours and hours, but at least one hour. I like to wake up slowly and ease into my day. Our joke about me has always been "I'm up, but not at 'em". (Just because I'm up, doesn't mean I'm ready for the day)

I know what you mean-- don't talk to me until I have had coffee.

I can jump right up and get going if I want. My preference is to set up and look at my iPad for a bit but physically i can jump right up.

By the time I get my coffee on and walk around getting dressed, etc, I'm good to go. And I am wayyyy over the hill. :) Last month, though, I awoke one morning with a painful right leg, couldn't put pressure on it, so hobbled around holding onto walls, furniture, etc. My doctor is quite a distance and I live alone in a three-story walk-up. My son and family live nearby but were on vacation in FL. So, I hobbled for about a week. Checked my symptoms online and found that magnesium could cause the problems I was experiencing. I ordered magnesium immediately and in three days on the supplement, I could walk again, without pain. I've only done the stairs twice in over three weeks, and haven't driven yet, but will do so later this week. Thank God for stores that do home delivery! I would advise anyone having joint or muscle problems to get their magnesium level checked.

I wake up pretty good these days. I used to be a night owl and it would take me hours and hours to get up and around in the mornings. Now I'm passing out at 10 pm and bouncy at 5 am lol

I have always gotten up by 7 for work but now that I'm retired I still wake up around 6 or 7. The pup won't let me sleep much later than that. I am half functioning for the first half hour or so as I drink coffee, go online, let the dogs out and take my pills. Then I am pretty much ready for the day.

I don't think I was ever able to do that, even as a kid. I can remember many times I pulled clothes on over my PJs when I was in elementary school because I was going to miss the bus otherwise.

If you didn't have the dogs would you be able to sleep later?
Stupid question, how can you imagine life without doggies?

yes!! I swear by magnesium too. It doesn;t help my pain levels all that much, but it helps me from cramping up all night long

I get cramps in my legs at night, and take magnesium everyday to help prevent them. I can always tell when I've missed taking it - cramps without fail. I keep it on the bedside table now so that I don't forget to take it.

I always get up at 6 (week) or 7 a.m. (weekend) and I´m ready for the day. By the time I get to school (8 a.m.) I already have put my house in order, planed lunch, feed my furbabies and got to gym, LoL
