Hey from Down Under

(or more specifically from 2 and a bit hours south of Sydney, NSW if you are one of the cool handful of people that digiscrap and live down here too and have more an idea of the vast geography)

I'm Justine if you don't know me (and I'm still Justine, if you do know me). I've been a digiscrapping as bellbird since my daughter was a baby and she's in Uni now. I've also got a son in high school and DH (that i sometimes refer to as my 3rd child) and I often scrap my birds as well (we have 3 of them that are basically free-range indoors - the oldest we've had for around 22 years so he's been in a lot of digi-layouts but they're all still effectively toddlers).
Anyhow I'm popping back in after several years and enjoying the Christmas challenges and the community here is lovely and welcoming so I thought I should say :wavinghello: properly as there's many of you that are new to me and i didn't want to be rude - plus Ona said i should in another thread so there's that ;). Nice to meet you all and also nice to see some familiar faces/avatars!

Hey Justine!! :waving1

Second-- OMG, you are hysterical, love the bit about your avatar and looking ten years younger. I think I need to give that a try!

Hello Justine! It's nice to meet you. I'm a bird person too - can't wait to see your bird layouts. What type do you have? We have an African Grey and some budgies. Over years we've also had cockatoos, cockatiels, a Severe Macaw.

Justine :coffeescreen: :coffeescreen: thanks! :lol23::lol23: My daughter lives at Bowral, well actually just near the Fitzroy Falls entrance but she works in Bowral. :) Beautiful country down south there, if and when we come back to the mainland that is where I want to end up, on the south coast somewhere! :beatingheart:

And welcome to Oscraps my friend! :cowwaving:

ok well i will definitely be stalking your gallery (in a nice way - if i was younger, we'd entertain the idea of an African Grey, they are so smart) but a Macaw we just couldn't have inside like the others (they're all cockatiels and are slowly devouring our house despite our best attempts at giving them forgaing and enrichment activities, if the humans have it or it's part of the furniture or physically part of the house, they have to taste it or have it (like a toddler).

LOL - nah I'm sure her bark is worse than her bite (although wombats are notoriously underestimated for their ability in a fight, if Robert Irwin (the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin's son) is afraid of wombats then i guess that says something)

Bowral is beautiful, I'm 'down the mountain' south of W'gong in the Illawarra but had family that lived in Mittagong and Bowral for several years when i was little so i've been to several 'tulip times'!

I have a tough back-side so yeah, in a fight I just turn around and show them that!!! :lol23: :lol23: :lol23: I learnt all that from a video I posted in a thread that Chris posted to celebrate 'me', Wombat Day!!!! https://oscraps.com/community/threads/today-october-22nd-is-international-wombat-day.40708/

yep, I remember you are an Illawarra gal!! :) as we chatted about once, I used to hang out down the Gong and surrounding areas in my teens and also lived at Port Kembla for a while, which is where said daughter was born. :) @melscrap Melissa is an another Aussie living up in Sydney. :)

Welcome back to Oscraps, Justine!! :banana6: Happy to see that you are already following orders from our Ona...you have wonderful survival instincts :claphands2::giggle4: I am looking forward to seeing your birdies!!! I love birds...total bird brain over here...we don't own any though, sadly...I just watch the ones at our feeders and have to be happy with that. We have two cats who like to kill birds when they have the chance, so probably better that I don't have any inside :hiding2:

Hey Justine! Wonderful to see you at Oscraps. :welcome3:
We still have to schedule a meet up one of these days - you'd have to be the closest digiscrapper to me geographically! (if it's the height of summer though the only requirement i have is air-conditioning and if you're out nth west like i think then you probably understand that requirement)
