Happy Valentine's Day

clarabear

always chatty at the O!!
So, with today being Valentine's Day I thought I'd start a post to see how people celebrate. My iPhone is apparently anti valentines day. As you can see it doesn't capitalize it or anything.

So I personally hate all things hallmark (another word my phone doesn't seem to like). I won't buy greeting cards that cost more than $1 and hate it when people buy them for me. So my husband and I made a decision long ago to make it a fun silly day to spend with the kids. We usually make red, pink and/or heart shaped food and rent a fun family movie or even go see a movie. No flowers ever...although candy is always allowed. Lol. I'm also very big into making the classroom cards with the kids (although this year I failed and bought them).

So that's us. :) how about you??

We're not doing anything... thanks to DH's work. We got each other stuff that we both wanted, it's a good excuse to treat ourselves from our wish lists ;) I made him some of his favorite foods yesterday just because, totally didn't realize today was Valentine's Day!

We will probbly spend it at the beach and pool. Then, I will either make chicken Parmesan or we will go out to eat. We will see...that's the beauty of vacation!

I am with Clara, just a yucky holiday. When the kids were little I would do a lot more for the day as well as when I was teaching PreK. Youhad no choice but to get all decked out on days like that.

Now, its just another day. My parents are coming up for dinner- they offeref to come visit *and* bring food. I just made pink and black heart shaped sugar cookies. You know me to never be that "normal" so why not black cookies? (Really they are more of a grey marble-y look, actually kinda cool!)

Happy Birthday to Traci!!!

And Linda S- I guess every day in HI is like V-Day!

Happy Valentines to you all :cheer2:

We don't celebrate it a lot either. We did Fondue with the kids, didn't bought presents for eachother. It's not only that day that you have to be sweet to eachother, you have to do it every single day of it! And I rather get a present or flowers as a surprise than on Valentines day :)

Is it a public holiday in the States?

It's just a normal day here in the UK, no holiday, no special sales or anything. After 20 yrs together we don't do anything special, although my DH did give me a very pretty card.

Oh well, it looks like I'm alone by saying I still get a thrill whenever hubby sends chocolates ...

We aren't doing anything too special. I do like flowers, but dh hates spending money on them. I like them because they are pretty and they don't add to the clutter as you can toss them when they die. LOL

I have class and the child has swimming, so nothing too special tonight. We might go to dinner tomorrow or Saturday though.

I'm afraid I am a sucker for flowers, cards and sweets, and hubby knows that and does a great job keeping me happy :)

We will celebrate with a red dinner...salmon, red potatoes, strawberries, red wine, red cookies :)

All three of us have walking pneumonia, so we didn't do much. The hubs did get me a card and I was ridiculously touched to get it since he got it even though he's been home sick too :)
