gas!!!

parking where we live is free!!
in the city centre it is about 2.40 euro per hour, and just outside that region there is a parking zone for permit holders. we live just outside that zone and parking is still free, no permit necessary. But the permit zone is getting bigger and bigger every year, so one of these days we will need to buy a permit.

I took this picture 2 weeks ago: was a bit shocked about the prizes for parking in London! (we took the train!)

Depends on what part of the country you live in here....the big cities you have to pay to park everywhere....here in our small town, it's just in the downtown business area, and it's about $1.25/hour
 
the only places you have to pay to park here is (some) parking garages (though most are free cept for downtown) and downtown...and thats only at certain times like during the day...at night or after i think its 5pm parking is free and weekends its free

You were here 2 weeks ago????!!! You should have said - we could make you an honourary member of the London Branch of Oscraps, right Sue?
 
Absolutely! It's an open deal ... anybody who visit's London can get honourary membership to the London Branch of Oscraps ... and hey ... if you let us know in advance, we may even be able to meet you & bestow "full" membership status :wink:

I didn't but we had a friend who bout a Cinque-Cento that was awesome and I rode in that a few times. He took really good care of it and it was sooo pretty. I also loved the mini-coopers back there, pre-new ones. Everyone thinks the new ones are so cute and I think they are huge.

I want to come and visit!!! One of these days (again when I am rich and famous tee-hee) I am going to do and Oscraps wOrld tOur!!!!

it was a quick visit! we were in the UK for 5 days, and took the train to London for a 1 day visit! We didn't plan anything in advance, just a last minute idea (Maya was feeling sorry for herself, "I have no vacation ... bla bla bla ....I have to study so hard.......... I want to shop" ..... insert anything else here....) so we booked the boat, a hotel and went overseas.

Okay, next time we will apply for the membership!

LOL!! Good thing I already have Jeff convinced to work out a few days in the UK on our next trip to South Africa.
 
Another interesting thread at the O! I feel like I learn more here everyday than I do on the news!

Our gas prices...about $3.45 a gallon this morning when I filled up. No mass transit from our small town to where I work. Takes about 15 minutes to get there and I park in the garage under our building...so totally free.
 
Our petrol is around $2.16 per LITRE right now, and expected to rise. Convert that to price per gallon and it comes out to around $8.64 New Zealand Dollars. That would be US$6.36 per gallon.
