Today makes me wish I had a little one to take out trick or treating and to just enjoy all the fun of the evening! I loved Halloween as a kid and really enjoyed it when Jacob was small but he's all grown up and past that stuff, he doesn't even like dressing up *sigh* I've dressed up for one party this year and I'm thinking I might just dress up and go to a party this weekend just because I can, haha! I hope all of you with little ones enjoy the evening if you partake in the festivities and enjoy them while they're little!

Me too, and I wish to celebrate Halloween once, American style!!
I would love to visit some haunted houses!
Halloween is not celebrated here in Holland. We can get big pumpkins for carving, special candy and some decorations, but that is it. No trick or treating here!!

The haunted houses are awesome! I only got to see one this year but I hope I get to go to more next year! We took a couple of Jacob's friends with us and the smallest was scared but by the end he was enjoying it! The people there did a great job of scaring people!

I was excited when the other neighborhood boy's dad came trick or treating with him. It meant I could send my husband out and I could stay and hand out the candy and catch up on Dancing with the Stars!

I hate Halloween. I mean I enjoy it but I hate dressing up. Trick or treating always stresses me out. But my kids were good sports this year and let me pick their costumes...Alice and the Mad Hatter. Good stuff.

We had nice weather here tonight, so we had a TON of cute, cute trick or treaters. So much so that we ran out of candy and had to turn off the light and close the door.

I got to send mine out on their own for the very first time - in our village it's very quiet, so even my 8 yr old was OK just with his siblings. The whole thing though was over in 45 mins, and we only had 2 knocks on the door ourselves.

I have a question about the dressing up in the US......the little bit of Trick or Treating that goes on here in the UK is with the kids dressed up as ghouls, ghosts, witches, zombies etc, never as princesses, Disney characters, etc. Does everyone dress up as something nice? Or do the teenagers do the ghoul thing?

Halloween is pretty big here in my house. Gary had another great set-up and coordinated it with our neighbors. After the last 2 years of having Halloween be a bust (freak blizzard in 2011, and Sandy in 2012) he wasn't sure if he wanted to do anything this year. But he pulled it off. It rained a bit here but we got some people. 2 bags of candy gone. That's about avg for us.

Cait had a small party to go to and dressed up and trick or treated there. She got to dress up 3 times this year.
Scott's friend turned him into a cat at school yesterday but didn't trick or treat at all.
He had friends over last night and one of them had his costume-- an egg with devil horns and tail. He was a "Deviled Egg." Apparently at school, one class spent most of the period cracking egg jokes. When he came to our door, I had to tell him how "eggs-cited" I was to see him. hahah!

Selena-- always a wide variety of costumes here. We had several princesses, the space shuttle, a narwhal, the Hulk, as well as some zombies.

What an awesome idea for a costume! Love the creativity in that!

We NEVER get any trick or treaters at the house I live in Makes me sad! All of the kids around here now go to do the trunk or treats and things like that. We live right across the road from a little country store and they get some trick or treaters but that's all I get to see of them is darting in and out there! I think it's that for the years my boyfriend lived here by himself he just didn't care about Halloween and everybody got used to that. Maybe I need to go all out next year and try to draw them in, LOL!

He and I went to an 80s themed party and we dressed up for that and had a good time! He has to dress up at work every year because they go all out for the Halloween holiday. They work so much for the last two months of the year that they don't get to celebrate Thanksgiving/Christmas there so Halloween is their holiday

I thought about setting up a booth for my photography next year at the town's event they do and take free pics of each of the kids that come through, hand out candy and business cards to the parents. That way I could maybe drum up business there and get to see all the costumes!
