Does anyone have or use an Air Fryer?

My birthday is coming up in a month which means that my mom is starting to ask me for gift ideas. I never have any clue, I really don't *need* much. I have been seeing some posts on Facebook about cooking with Air Fryers.

If you have one or knows someone who does, what are your thoughts? Worth it or just one more fad appliance? My kitchen is small, so space is at a premium. I have a baker's rack that could store it when it isn't in use, but will it only collect dust?
I would love to see what you think!

We do have one, but hardly ever use it. I bought it to fry fries, but the kids just don't like fries from the air fryer. I also find that other snack we used to cook in the normal frying pan, don't all do well in the air fryer. And when you by snacks for the air fryer they are so much more expensive. I know you can also fry chicken and other food in it, but I don't eat meat, so I never used it for that and I don't really see the use of cooking potatoes and vegetables in it. My air fryer is only collecting dust.

But I do have a slow cooker, and I love it. There are so many wonderful recipes for a slow cooker and it is so easy to use. My favorite is vegetarian chili. I slice the vegetables in the morning, put them in the slow cooker along with the beans and herbs, stir and then turn the slow cooker on. At the end of the day I have a wonderful meal ready to eat! So easy when we go out for a day, or do not have time to cook in the evening.

I have had an airfryer for several years and am very satisfied with it ... it is used a lot ... we are just more of the two of us. A few years ago my large oven was broken and I decided to buy an airfryer. I bake my spelled bread in it, meat, fish, chicken, Frenchfries, vegetable fries ... actually you can bake everything in it that you can bake in a normal oven ... The baking times are shorter and the temperature should not be so high ...

I have an airfryer and use it for the Friday Fries!
Snacks that work well in the airfryer are mostly Oven snacks, and they are more expensive than regular snacks. the regular snacks are a bit pale when you airfry them.
I also use it for meat that needs oventime.
or prebaked bread.

It is a large appliance! and it does not fit in any of my cupboards, but that is because they are to full of other stuff.

and our fav fries, are the fresh pre-fried fries!

I have an airfryer too! And I use it for the frenchfries and oven snacks and I love that there is not so much fat anymore on the snacks but also in the kitchen! It is much easyer to clean!

We had one, but mostly used it to fry potatoes. We loved it because use no oil or just a spoon, much much better than other way to fry! But when broke (too soon in my opinion) we got Multi Cooker and it takes the same space, but is much more functional!

I don't have one but my sister talks of hers all the time. She loves making chicken wings in it and veggies. I am an Instant Pot gal. I do miss fried food, sometimes, but I know its better for me. :)

I was given one but mainly use it to fry chips or fish , which is not very often. Sadly you cannot get all the Dutch savoury oven snacks over here or it would be used a lot more.
My main reason for not using it more is because the Aga is on all the time so I've always got a hot oven.
There are lots of things you can make in an Airfryer and plenty of free recipies online.

You can bake in an Air Fryer? That is pretty good to know!
My son loves chicken cutlets fried which takes forever to cook and is messy. Do they come out crispy in an Air Fryer? It might be worth getting one just to cook them without splattering oil everywhere.

Is there a brand, style, or size that you recommend?

They look delicious, Marijke! :hungry: I hopped over to Amazon to see what kinds of options and prices there are. I am going to keep on researching because I am definitely interested.

I have one and have used it once. I was happy with it too, not sure why I haven't done anything in it since. I'm going to make a point to use it this week!
