Do you have a travel bucket list?

Do you have a travel bucket list? If so, what is on it?

We leave for Amsterdam, Paris and London in a couple of weeks and I'm already thinking about the next vacation destination. Leaning heavily toward a few days in Turks and Caicos for a few days over Christmas break.

What about you? And are their places that you have visited that should be on my bucket list?

My only semi-realistic travel plan would be to go back to Disney. Someday, I hope to get there again. I would also love to go back to an island - any island- (nope, probably not Staten Island, definitely NOT Rikers Island  ).

In a fantasy world- I would love to go to Australia. That would be cool- see the wildlife and hope it doesn't kill me. I would also love to be able to go to Italy to see where my grandfather was born.

You must be so excited that your trip is getting so close, Linda

We’re heading to Portugal at the end of May. I can’t wait! Also hoping to go to Mexico next winter for A couple of weeks. Some day we’d love to go to Croatia.

As for places we visited and absolutely loved - Costa Rica for all the scenery, different activities and variety of wildlife. Another favourite vacation was ferry hopping in the Greek Islands - the scenery, history, weather and food were amazing!

Scotland, Ireland and Cornwall are still on my travel list. This year I will visit friends in Paris and Berlin. Other things are still planned, but nothing concrete has been decided yet.

That's awesome, Linda!! I don't really have a "travel bucket list" anymore - just places I wish I could have visited - like Africa - but I know that's out of the realm because I'd only want to go first class and that's just not in our budget. LOL I'm too "expensive" for my own good. Plus, I hate to fly now.

You know that you have a free bedroom about 90 minutes from Disney! Anytime that you want it. And, when you aren't at Disney, you can relax poolside. Someday we will make that happen Chris.

@*gina* I haven't been to San Diego since the 1990's but I loved it there. I need to add that to my list. And I'd love to visit both Germany and Austria!

@janedee I love both your future travel plans as well as your past travel. Always love Mexico. Costa Rica and Greece are both on my list. I've never thought about traveling to Portugal. I'm anxious to hear more after you have been there.

@marijke I had never heard of either of those places until you said the Canary Islands! That sounds like a great destination. We will be traveling through Belgium by train from Amsterdam to Paris. I wish that we could stop and visit there. Definitely on my bucket list. There is a small cafe near us that is owned by a woman who came here from Belgium. She used to lead an annual tour to Belgium filled with guest from her cafe. The pandemic stopped that but hopefully she will do that again in the next couple of years.

@Cherylndesigns I would love to do a safari in Africa. And our neighbor is from South Africa and she has made me want to go there as well. However, like you, I think that trip is probably out of reach for us. I keep trying to talk Brian into an RV so that we can travel the USA once we are retired...but then we won't have any money for gas. LOL

I'd love to go to places like Brunei and Bhutan and Pulau because they sound so exotic and I know literally nothing about them and have never met anyone who's been there. Does that sound crazy? Oh, and Fiji and Cook's Islands because those are kinda off the map completely... hubby and I have a plan that once we retire we will drive around Europe and visit all the micro-nations like San Marino, Lichtenschtein, Monaco...

But recently, rather than geographical places, I've been dreaming of seeing different nature - a big waterfall, an iceberg, a geiser, a jungle, a volcanic desert, a giant sycamore tree, and Apline lake, a rice terrace... canyons and gorges and cliffs...
