You made it! No matter where or when you started your Art Journaling journey in 2024, you're here. I know that I can speak for Sonja, Cheryl, and Susie when I say how appreciative we are that you have been working on these challenges with us. For some, art journaling comes easy, and for others, it might be a little intimidating. At first. It gets easier as you go. ;)
This is the last week of the year and my, what it year it has been. I hope that these many weeks of reflection, insight, and creativity have helped you in as many ways as it did for me. Let's say... it has been illuminating.

My AJ challenge is usually an end-of-the-month wrap-up based on the month's topic. This month, however, I'd like to expand a little and focus on the year. What has been illuminating for you? We talked about Gratitude and A-Ha! moments. Serenity, Courage, and Connections. Which of these helped you see the light in yourself or in others? Maybe it was something physical that happened like watching a meteor shower. Maybe it was something that touched your heart and illuminated you with emotion. Possibly, it was simply turning a light on after the power went out.
My page reflects the difficulties I have accepting that I am "good enough" and that I can be the light in difficult times. Sometimes, my inner voice gets drowned out by the darkness of self-doubt. My page is a reminder to myself that I am the light.

You can choose to do a single page/tag/TN each week, or do a divided template - one part for each week. If you don't have the Divided Template and would like to have it, you can get it here at Dropbox. Thank you to Ona @wombat146 for providing the template choices for us! If you do the template, we would love it if you would post it incrementally. Post one done in the first week, post an image of the two together on the second, and three on the third, and then the finished page on the fourth week.

Again - the template is NEVER a requirement to use, just something fun and different if you want to use it.

Everyone who participates in any of this month's challenges will be entered into a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to Oscraps. You can receive up to four entries into this month's drawing.

Challenge Rules:
You have until 11:59 p.m. CST on December 31 to complete your pages for this challenge.
  1. To qualify for the drawing, you need to use 80% Oscraps products that are currently in the store (non-Oscraps products or retired O designer products can be used whether the designer is selling elsewhere or not).
  2. You need to credit all the products used on your page.
  3. You cannot use a page you create for this challenge for another Oscraps challenge.
  4. Upload your page to the Art Journal Gallery and then add your layout to the challenge thread. (Below you will find instructions on adding your page to this thread.)
Adding a linked layout from the Gallery to a thread:
  • Upload your layout to the gallery first. In your forum post click the Gallery Embed icon (little camera).
  • This will open your gallery, simply click on the layout you require, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button.
  • Your linked layout is now in your post, the image will appear once you have clicked the Post Reply button

Thank you, Chris. I had not considered participating in AJ before, but you, Sonja, Cheryl, and Susie have made it such fun and changed my perspective, and I now look forward to it. I appreciate your thought-provoking ideas as we approach the end of the year. ♥

I'm with Betty Jo, and I was nervous to try the first AJ I did here. But with the encouragement of all you wonderful ladies, and all who commented, I am beyond excited to do them now. I think AJ might be my most anticipated event. I wait and stalk the thread waiting for the next one to post. I've found my self checking the day after week one was posted to see if the next weeks dropped yet :giggle4: Hmmmm...... Maybe this will be my idea. The light you have all brought to AJ for me and shown me that I can do it. :heartpumppink:

This might be my favorite AJ piece yet. This has been a wonderful 8 months of AJ pieces and learning and growing. I couldn't have done it without the four amazing women who inspire each month, @svanderhaegen @faerywings @Cherylndesigns @pachimac Thank you for this amazing year of inspiration! Thank you to all the wonderful women who comment, create and inspire! Looking forward to 2025.

Thank you SO much, Tracy. @AK_Tracy it's been such a wonderful thing to see you grow, from the first time you "tried AJ" to now - it's been a pure pleasure to watch you embrace AJ. I need to "digest" your latest page, it's wonderful. :heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

I have never figured out what AJ is, but I keep posting my versions of it. If you look at those from this year, you'll see birds and the outdoors figure prominently in what moves me, so that's what this one is about.

I tagged you in a thread with some info. I hope it helps!!

What is AJ?

Thank you for the challenge – me trying Art Journaling is way different for me, but giving it a go has been fun. This last one reflects on a major change in my life in the past year, something I never wanted to ever happen, but it did. When I started this, for some unknown reason the song I Am Woman – Helen Reedy came to mind, and I ended up using some of the words it just seemed to fit for me. Everything is a mixture – Silver Lining – Simplette – Secret Woodlands – Flares – Magical Realty – Photos - mine – Fonts – Misty Nights – DJB Annalise – Japan Daisuki

Thanks, Susie! Looked over my AJ pages and they do seem to have changed, and maybe I don't really like them so much now. Never fear, I'll keep at it.
Like what you’ve done - it’s a snapshot of where you were at the time!

I have quite a few pages I liked at one time and feel like re-doing them tho - so I understand.
