Wow it looks like it is going to be another beautiful day here. Finally! Yesterday hit almost 70! Same predicted for today. Yesterday we took the dogs to a dog park, they were so funny! First time for them and they were quite sure what to do. They just sniffed everywhere and smelled a ton of other dogs' butts.
It was kinda far- about 45 minutes, but it was worth it. We were thinking about walking over at Ringwood Manor, but Gary hasn't slept at all again. I'll try to get some yard work done instead.

Dawn, whew- glad you are feeling better, And very glad I helped you smile!

Sandra- sounds like you have been very productive- can you send some of that my way? :)

Merkee- thanks sweetie!! but scotch? yuck! (every since I got drunk and *sick* off that when I was a kid... :-x
Hope that you took it easy with the HW.
(say it with me, dust is my friend... ;))

Sara- oooh, Michelle O! Good thought! My mom reads this guy in her local paper that does the "sob stories." I emailed him too.
Damn- I am sorry your day went to s***. Hang in there, maybe today will be a better day. Hope so!!

Tali (((((((hugs doll)))))))) Hope that you can kick that mood. I get how hard that is when everyone else around you is cranky and sick. I hope that your guys all feel better today. And yeah, BT, Doing that with Caitlyn and the moods. Wish I had a answer to that except stand firm, as hard as it is. My BFF's dd learned from day one which buttons to push and now at 11, she treats her parents like crap. :(
And how cow (no pun intended) cattle are dying too?? Hate to say it, but if these farmers are getting subsidies from the govt, maybe the govt will finally take notice.
My heart goes out to the farmers.

Clara, That would have upset me too with your dh- and it has happened here as well. i think moms are so in tune to the family as a "unit" and we work hard at keeping it that way. I don't think that dads (in general) have the same instinct, for lack of a better word.
Hope that Addie is happier for you today. Like I saiod to Tali- BT- Doing that. Moods swings on little girls seem to be just as bad as big girls LOL
Your patient sounds like a doll- bet you wish you had lots more like him.

Going off on another tangent.... but I think in general, our society doesn't appreciate the wisdom of our elderly. Sadly, I think that the elderly come to expect being unappreciated. I hope that this cycle breaks. I am sure that your patient went home much happier knowing that you lsitened and cared about what he had to say.

Have fun at Hannah Montana!

Joslyn, sounds like you had a good time at the zoo, hope that you got in a great nap too. Hope that you are feeling great today and have a nice time at the park.

(((((((((((((((hugs again Sara!!!!!!!!!)))))))))))))
If it helps, Gary (before he was diagnosed) was having a really hard time at work. He came home super PO'd. He started yelling about moving to kentucky. Not that there is anything wrong with KY, but when you are born and bred in North Jersey.... KY is kinda out there LOL Obviously we didn't move. We still tease him about that, except he doesn't remember it!
The other day with our health care fiasco, he started saying we were moving to Canada....
And if YMG still wants to move across the country- NJ is a nice place to be ;)

Kelly- I am with you- well, maybe not to go out to the piano bar, but I would have loved to have you and Sara and the Ooo's over to my house for a movie and a few bottles of wine!

Love to my O-Fam!

good morning! I got the umbrella up yesterday, the little table, a chair, and my 2 flower boxes planted... I also put some petunias in my big coffee cup/saucer planter Gabe bought me a while back and set it on the little table. I have up chair to go, but it was a pain so only one got put together yesterday! I'm bummed that its gonna rain tomorrow but at least we get a nice day today...

Later this afternoon we're going to a birthday party next door... Grace and Matthew are only a couple weeks apart in age which is really cool... the kids are excited, although its at 3 p.m. which is right in the middle of Matthew's nap, so we'll see how that goes!

Chris - I send some productive vibes your way!

Sara - sorry about your day yesterday! hope today is better!

Have a great day everyone!

Well, it's finally the weekend! I'm holding down the couch having some coffee with homemade bailey's irish cream! Yummy! I've got today to try and get some things done around the house then tomorrow it's off to our state convention with about 45 kids! Anyone want to come along to help keep them all moving in the right direction? :) School is really starting to wind down. I've givien the assignment for a semester project in my horticulture class so they are all hard at work. My biotech class will be finishing up some labs and research and will be putting the finishing touches on their semester projects in early May. Their last day is May 12th so time is really slipping by. Under classmen are signing up for classes for next year and we're making plans for our annual awards banquet and summer leadership camps and fundraisers. No - it never really slows down any I guess?
I'm excited for my trip to DC but there's so much to do between now and then that it's hard to get too excited.
I hope everyone has a marvelous weekend! Now I need to go catch up on the O's.

Chris - you ARE indeed one of the strongest women I know. I really look up to you for what your family is going through and how you deal with the struggles every day. Keep plugging along!

Sandra - you snuck in while I was writing. Sounds like you are really getting busy in your yard. I'm ready to get out there but not anxious to start mowing!

Hi girls. The three of us that went to the piano bar still had fun. I would have loved to take you all with me. =) I'm in a better state of mind this morning, didn't mean to complain, but I was a bit disappointed.

I was all excited because Ben woke up without a fever, but I think he's spiking again. Hopefully the second dose of antibiotics helps. He actually has an ear infection and a throat infection, probably strep. Hope the little bugger gets better soon, though he's in pretty good spirits.

Chris - I would actually be quite a bit closer to you if we did end up moving. He's got someone maybe possibly interviewing him for a job at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. That's awfully far from my friends and family...though I'm way ahead of things here. I hope that you are feeling a bit better today. Did the sunshine help?

Sandra - Sounds like a nice springy day you had yesterday. :) It's raining here today too, but I think we'll be getting some housework done. (Once I get off the computer!)

Linda - First of all...yum....Irish Cream and coffee. Secondly...45 high schools to DC? *shudder*. You are a brave woman. Thirdly, our last day is May 19th. It's amazing how fast things fly by the last month or so of school isn't it?

Kelly - I would have loved to take you with me darling. We did have fun, but it would have been a bit more fun with a few more people.

One funny story from last night. They called a couple of girls up on stage for their birthdays and what not. Then they said they needed me up on stage. I looked at the two people that I was with...neither of whom are terribly outgoing...and I knew that they didn't do it. I was trying to think of who might have turned my name in. When I got up there, I turned around and two of my students from the college class I teach were waving at me. :) I started laughing. They had us do the hokey pokey...with of course the ending part being "put your chest in" (except they didn't use the word "chest"...) The student came up later and apologized, but I just laughed and gave her a hug and said it was fun!

Hi to all of the others who stop in later! Hope everyone has a good day!

It's another beautiful day here....loving this weather! Our playscape is being delivered this coming Tuesday....I'm so excited! Want to take advantage of this weather for Nico, although Tuesday is supposed to be rainy of course.....anyway.....I battled the grocery store this morning.......it wasn't really too bad, but I still hate the grocery store. Id take a personal grocery shopper over a cleaning person anytime. (as If I could have either....lol)
Tomorrow is my friends baby shower (the one I made the pretzels for) and last night her son was sick puking...he wont be at the shower but im soooo freaky about germs...uugghhhh so its just on my mind and bothering me......

Anyway, I have cookies to bake but I'l be back later! Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!!!

HI Chris, Sara, Sandra and LindaP and all who stop in thru the day!!!!!!!:D

Oh heavens no! 45 kids to state convention, only 58 miles up the road. Only taking one kid to DC. Whew!

I just got word that a colleague of mine, another agriculture teacher from a South Dakota high school passed away this morning. His name was Rich. Please remember his family and his students who will now go to the state convention and compete without their greatest "cheerleader and coach". This really puts a damper on my usual pre-convention excitement.

Happy Weekend Lovely-Os!

Gotta tell you what happened tonight. DH decided we needed fried hamburgers for supper. He can't cook without burning a little so it got a little smokey LOL. He opened the sliding glass door a little. Normally, this is not a problem, but the outside cat has torn a hole in the screen at the bottom and we haven't fixed it yet, 2 big ole yucky RED wasps got in so I closed the door soon as I could after the wasps were killed. We sat down on the couch to eat and watch a movie, the kids were in their rooms. After the movie, I got Davy out for a while, after shutting DH's bedroom door so Davy wouldn't bother Sassy who naps in there. Now, this is roughly 3 hrs past the time I closed the sliding door. I let Davy run around a while then got him back in my room so I could scrap a while. I had been sitting here at the puter maybe 10 minutes when it hit me. I hadn't seen Sassy since before supper. It's rainy out, she's never been outside past the porch, she is declawed, and if Jacy saw her she would be her favorite chew toy, LOL. I ran to DH's bedroom and looked, and called, pleaded and begged LOL. I looked in every hiding place I could think of in the whole house. Then DS went outside to look, she was under the back porch thank goodness, soaking wet. I don't know how we missed her loud Siamese-like meowing with the windows open but maybe she was so scared she kept quiet, it was dark out already. So when she gets back in she acts like it is MY fault she was out there LOL. Now she is all nice and dry and curled up on my bed napping. Poor baby .

LindaP-I am so sorry about your colleague, my prayers are with his family and students.

Kelly-Ugh, grocery shopping, I don't like it either! I have to go tomorrow...if I ever go to bed!

Sara-sounds like you had a good time at the piano bar!

Sandra-isn't it wonderful that the weather is getting better?!

Chris- I am LOL at the dogs sniffing dogs butts :). tooooo funny!

well yawwwwnnnn I gotta get in bed! hugs to all!!!

Hi everyone!

ugh- last day of our spring break. Tomorrow- the real world and the icky old alarm clock are back.
Oh well-- at least the weather is slowly improving and we are down to 2 months left of school. Our last day is June 23. It will be here before I know it LOL

Sandra- your yard sounds beautiful! I am still in the process of cleaning up debris. Hope you had fun at the b-day party!

LindaP- good luck at the State Convention- you know I'd be there in a heartbeat if I could :) I am very sorry to hear about your colleague. The poor kids- my heart goes out to them as well as his family.
Thank you for saying I am strong- that means a lot. I am like the little engine that could.... ;)

Sara! LOL at the Piano bar story-- you are a good sport!

Kelly- have fun at the shower. Don't worry too much about the germs, just wash your hand-- a lot!

Dawn, poor kitty!!!! And Siamese? I am surprised she hasn't yelled down the house! LOL
Oh, just re-read- she *thinks* she is Siamese. Oh boy- girl cats have such attitude. My calico-Scarlet O Hara.... oh, yeah, she is a complainer/yeller too LOL Lives up to her namesake hahahaah!
I am glad that she is safe and sound.
Which remonds me of another dream I had last night... that 2 of my cats got out of the house and there were bears outside.... I have weird dreams buhahahah!

To everyone else, hi!!!!!

Hey ladies!! I am going to try and be real quick here...lol...no really, I'm going to try. It has been an awesome and sad weekend. Yesterday was great spending time with Ethan. We went to the birthday party. I don't get to volunteer at the school and it is fun seeing him interact with his friends. Then we went and saw Hannah Montana, which was so cute and I was definately not disappointed about seeing that movie. Then I went up to the hospital. Friday afternoon I left half way through the day when I found out a friend of mine's mother was in the ICU. She;s been battling stage 4 gallbladder cancer and she started having strokes. I saw her a month ago and she was doing awesome, but not now. From the time I saw her Friday until the time I saw her yesterday she went from being able to talk somewhat and able to move around to not able to speak and barely able to move her head. So yesterday I found out that they are bringing her home for Hospice care. My friend is just a few months older than me and watching her mother die. It absolutely breaks my heart. She already lost her dad several years ago. It is horrible. I know too many people with cancer right now. I HATE CANCER!!! HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!!!!!!! The other lady I was telling you guys about with the platelet count of one is doing much better. She got some transfusions and is better. If you can give blood guys...please do. Especially if you have an O blood type. Also support the American Cancer Society. I'm not trying to soliciate her but if any of you are looking for a place to donate money...click on my relay for life link in my signature. There has to be a cure for cancer.

So, today I am going to church. I love my church but have decided today to try something new. They have a church at this place called Charlie's Safari which is a kids playcenter with mini-golf, laser tak, bounce toys, a giant play structure and an arcade and they have a church service on Sundays before they open. I needed church to be fun and happy today so I thought that would be a good place to check out. We'll see how it goes. I think the whole concept is fabulous. I'm excited to see what they are all about. Well, I will try and come back later. i need to get myself and the kids ready for church. I'll chat again soon.

Hi all you lovely ladies!

This weekend has been a pretty big crapshow :( struggling with family issues and just being stressed out about moving all that kinda stuff! argh just really getting overwhelmed with it all. Hoping that next week settles itself down and I start to get a little less anxious as the weeks go by. I enrolled in another yoga class, I had stopped going just because we couldnt afford it but have noticed a BIG difference in how I feel both physically and mentally! So Im going back to what I know works.

Clara- I feel you on hating cancer! it seems like it is becoming so much more common now. My dad is recovering from lymphoid cancer and it just breaks my heart to hear how draining and damaging it is to both him physically and mentally! not to mention his positivity is dwindling :( stay positive

Have a good evening! back to weekday rounds tomorrow!

Clara and Alicia-- hugs~~~~~~

Cancer is so scary too. I thrilled to hear your one friend is doing better!
But wow, how horrible for your friend and her mom- and Alicia- your dad.

I wish I could give blood, but I don't weigh enough. Gary can't- diabetes. And we heard (Clara do you know anything about this??) that is you have Babesia you can never give blood?
I really hope not, b/c Scott is B- which is rare, and he has/had babesia.

I am O+ - which is Universal Donor, right?
Maybe someday I'll meet the weight requirement.

I remember checking after 9-11, and it was 120lbs?

Chris - I know there are a lot of viruses and diseases that make it so you can't give blood. I don't believe that I am allowed to give blood either but am not sure. I would guess that any of those lyme related diseases would be included in that. but am not sure. Also...O+ is a great blood type to give because you can give it to all positive blood types but O- is the actual universal donor because you can give negative blood types to positive blood types but not vice versa. positive blood types have an extra something in them that makes them non-compatibe with negative blood which is why you have to know what blood type you have after you have had a baby. If you have negative blood and then have a baby with positive blood without a rhogam shot you would not be able to carry a pregnancy of another positive baby. Your body forms an antibody after the first baby. If that makes sense. I just looked it up and although EBV is not on th elist...Yay!! living in Europe is. I didn't realize that and now I am sad that I can never donate blood again even though I was never around a farm. Lame. Here's a website I found with restrictions on blood donations:

good evening... am about to get us all off to bed but wanted to pop in real quick... was a busy day here today... we spent a lot of time cleaning up the playroom and the dining room (the playroom spills over into it)... they're all cleaned and vacuumed... we started work on the family room, but were just too tired to do much... Will and Matthew did pick up some of the toys, but I'll have to work on it tomorrow... I even got the covers for the couch/chair in the family room washed... part of them are dry and the cushions have been re-covered... only one section of the couch left and the chair and those are in the dryer...

tomorrow will be fairly busy too... gotta work on the family room including my desk, the kitchen and hallway... plus the cover on the family room couch needs washing... the kids rooms are still clean, but the master bedroom is still a disaster... I can't wait until its all done... I'm just happy to have some of it done... I've got all week to finish what's left... tomorrow and Tuesday are rainy so no working on the backyard, so that'll have to wait until Thursday and Friday since Wednesday will be a drying out day... lots of time to get everything finished!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
