good Morning and happy Wednesday!
I am so happy that we are going to have sunshine today. The next few days- sunny and upper 60*s. Still colder than I like, but way way way better than what we have been having recently. I am not sure if is more a Lyme flare or just getting old, but my joints are not happy with me. Hopefully the change in weather will take care of that.

I am off to meet my BFF for coffee and face to face catching up this afternoon. We only live about 50 min's away from each other but her schedule is insane, so we don't get to see each other as often as we like. other than that, its going to be "clean up the crap' that is all over my house and try to figure out some more finance stuff. i think we might try to re-fi the house, since interest rates are still so low.

WWW:
I wish i had a million dollars :D
Honestly, I wish I had enough so that at the end of the month I had enough left over to be able to breathe. I am pretty low maintenance- just let me pay my bills, and have some to put aside for my kids' college.
I want the sun to shine!!

Morning Chris & all! I am sitting here under my light- enjoying my cuppa. Need to get moving though. Stayed up too late last night. I want the day to go smoothly and to be able to concentrate at work instead of having my thoughts go flying. This reentry to my usual schedule week has been tough. Lots to get done and seem to get further behind. I'm not waving the flag yet. Just keeping putting one foot in front of the other.

Personals......

Laurie- how are you and YMG today? Pulling the pieces back together a bit? I'm glad that he took the day to just "be." You're right, men don't do that very often. Love your tip, if only I could follow it more often....

Frani- i hear ya on the 'rain/pour" deal, that is how my life rolls as well.....:eek:hwell:
Hope that the car and computer are behaving for you today.

Maureen- good tip! The other thing I do that I adapted from FLYlady is to clean up 5 things at a time. Before I hop onto the computer or whatever, I put 5 things away. If I can do that a few times a day, it really does help keep some of the mess under control.

Phyllis- that is too funny about YMG!

Sally- Scott keeps freaking me out saying things like, "In another year or so, I'll be able to drive to the bus stop" ahhhh! Not ready for a teen and a car! OTOH- not being a taxi service has its benefits, eh?? :D

Jane- yoga-- I wish I had the money to sign up for a class, doing at home is just so different, not to mention way to easy to blow off..... Hope you had a great day.

Terry- hey there!! How are you feeling? Throat and foot?

Oh trudy!! That stinks! hugs~~~

maureen- thanks for the sweet and supportive words. yes, i am very very blessed with wonderful family, but I HATE having to rely on anyone for help.... but I guess that is what family does. Its just so hard to have the fixed income and the food and utilities skyrocket. I looked to see if we would get a COLA this year- perhaps 3%... which comes to about $80/month. Ahhhhh! That doesn't cover even a small part of the gap between income and outgo.
:faint:
Anyway- like I said yesterday, worrying about it at 6 am won't solve anything- it is what it is... we'll figure it out.;)

Amber- sounds exhausting!!! By the time you recover from October, it will be December and Christmas

Clara- yay for dad coming to see you- that is so nice. How cold that you made your own fabric softener. Let me know how it works, I love to try that kind of stuff. I use Borax and white vinegar for a lot of my cleaning.

Shar! That is too funny!!! Men!! :pound:

Linda S!!! So so so good to see you! Yay for "normal!"

xoxo to everyone!!!

always chatty at the O!!
Good morning ladies!! Lots going on today. I have a leaders meeting for my small group at church bright and early. All of the leaders are leaving and so I have volunteered to co-lead the group. I'm excited about it...the only issue is that you have to do a 3 month class with the church...which seems a little excessive, but you do what you gotta. After that I have to get Addie ready for school and then off to day 1 of the Nuc Med conference. Yesterday was an open house. I think the open house is really cool because they give tours of the department and explain what the heck nuclear medicine is. It was kinda fun because one of the techs was giving someone a tour and explained it the same way I do...as a backwards x-ray, from the inside out. Then when Addie gets home from school I have to run her over to a friend's house so I can get back to the conference. I really want to get my CEs because I hate doing them by reading and then taking a test from the society magazines. They are super easy...I just hate doing it. So in one weekend I can get 11 of my 24. After we get home more cleaning before my dad comes tomorrow. I did a bunch of work last night and got a closet totally set up without any boxes in it. Now I just need to go through all the office type boxes...plus some additional cleaning.

Chris - before you go into refinancing your home...call the bank you currently have a loan thru and ask about a modification. Sally was telling about that when we were traipsing around Seattle...and then I got something from my bank talking about it. It is just some paperwork but no closing costs or anything. I need to call on that today actually. They sent me a packet but it didn't have anything that I thought was pertinent to what they were talking about. Enjoy your time with the BFF!!

Laurie - I need to get one of those lights. If I get this loan thing done...I think I may get one also. Good luck getting yourself to a point where you feel caught up. I'm sending you some warp speed thoughts. Hugs!!

Morning by sunshine ladies....hee hee....it's raining here, love it In San Jose, CA. we haven't seen enough of it in the last few years.

The mechanic looked at the car put his little gadget on it to read the car computer...nada. So he suggested not to do anything unless it happens more frequently! Then we would start looking at the starter or the ignition switch....in the meantime I'm going to worry about getting stranded.

So far the computer is working fine. DH asked if I bought another one yet...sheeeeesh I told him no, he didn't say I could....(big purchases we always have to agree on), he replied, well you always do what you want anyway....I told him not on the big things. Okay this conversation happened when I was getting ready for bed. Really he waited until then to ask......sheeeeesh, I'm half asleep by then and don't want to talk anyway. So I'll check with him again and see if he's serious and I can get one....

Chris I so feel for you, I'm sure you are worried to death about the finances, but worrying only ruins your health and doesn't change a thing. Looks like you just need to channel your creativity in dealing with finances.....take a hard look at your skills and see if you can apply to work from home stuff....I'll take a look on the internet and see what type of things people hire consultants for that allows work done at home.

Enjoy your afternoon coffee with your BFF, just relax.

Laura hoping your work day isn't as intense and things get back to a normal routine for you soon.

Morning all.

Sounds like lots of serious life out there. Seeing you all in light and abundance and some prayers.

Laurie, a friend was telling me about her SAD lights and that it's the blue one that gives her the boost. Then I read about the same color light in some health article. What it also said...and I know many of us won't want to hear this...is that computer time mimics that blue light and so seeing it late at night tells our reptilian brain...time to be AwAkE!!!

Today...not much.Minutes and a newsletter to write, then a Costco trip later today, and a Detention Center volunteer meeting tonight. It almost rains when they have that meeting so I'm hoping for another clear night. DH is debating a bike riding trip for today and Thurs or Thurs and Friday. It all depends on his bicycle buddy's work schedule. This time they plan to go to Southern MD down where my late mil lived. She was a sweetheart and really took my side when her son divorced me. Fortunately, she lived long enough to meet Dick and was so happy for me.

Well breakfast and then writing for me. Sooner I do my writing, sooner I'll be able to scrap! ciao ladies.

morning, chicas!!! :)

I'm starting the advent calendar bunch this morning. I have four I need to get out this weekend before I leave for CA next Monday. I am desperately trying NOT to get distracted. I keep looking at all of my fabrics thinking of new projects I could start!! eek!!!! But I'll be good today...I have a hankerin' to do some stampin' anyway, so that will help!!

Chris, ohhhhhhh cold!!! I saw some hats at Claire's yesterday and I actually asked the lady if she was selling any of them in this heat!! (it's only 85...cold front!!) and she said yes!!! I couldnt' believe it...even though they are adorable!! And yeah, it's shocking when our little babies grow up into responsible adults!! Isn't it nuts???? The program we are doing is called the HAMP program for our mortgage renegotiating. I will warn you...it has taken us 18 months so far and it's killing us, but in the end, it will have reduced our interest rate by 6 points!! worth it!! hugs, my friend!!!

Laurie, I'm praying you have a wonderfully joyful day today, babe!!! Love ya!!!!

Clara, hugs on your busy day today, dear!!! Have a great time...I just want to say that I'm going to a NucMed conference..I'm not, but it sounds cool, doesn't it??? :) have fun, my darling!!

Frani, ohhhh I'll be in San Jose next week!! Actually, mr gorgeous will be working in San Ramon and I'm going to hop down to San Jose most of the week to play with a quilting friend! I'm hoping for no rain just because mr gorgeous may be able to upgrade to a convertible...too fun!! :) have a wonderful day, girlie!! (and no worrying for you, either!!!)

Maureen, I'm sooo glad you said what you did about the computer light!! My mom refuses to get a SAD light...she says she really isn't that bad, but we'll see when the weather changes in a month or so...*sigh* Enjoy your day, dear!!!!

And to everyone who comes in later, have a GREAT day!!!
love you ALL!!!

Morning Ladies... So dark here in the mornings now, but they say the sun will shine today so hooray!! Enjoyed a very relaxing day off yesterday! Except for the power outage, they say it was a poor bird that made contact with the power lines. That poor bird put out the power for a couple of hours and it affected everyone in the Maple Bay area approx. 3000 of us. Went for my blood work and signed up for ehealth so that I can see my results as soon as they are done. Pretty cool! Off to work until 2 oclock today. My son finally called us today from Italy where he has been deployed with the airforce. He is working 15hr. days and says by the time he has time off he is so exhausted that he doesn't even feel like sight seeing. But he says it is beautiful where he is and if he has to be away for a deployment it couldn't be in a better place.
Was wonderful to hear his voice again!! We miss him very much!

Chris - I wish I would win the lottery!! I would send some moo la to you my friend! Please don't worry, it will all work out. It would be wonderful if Frani could find some on-line work for you to do at home!!!!

Laurie - Hope you get caught up with everything, so frustrating when things get piled up and you feel like you are drowning!

Frani - My car sometimes does the same thing and our mechanic said the same as yours, of course when you want it to happen so that they see the problem it never does. No reason for the non starting :noidea: why it happens. Hope you get to have your new computer, my DH and I are the same, we always discuss the big things!

Maureen - I have noticed if I am on my computer at all before bed, my mind is turning and I can't fall asleep, so no computer for me at least an hour before bedtime. Have a great day writing and scrapping!!

Clara - With the busy day you have planned for today, I hope you get your cleaning done before your dad arrives! Have fun at your conference!

Sally - I really have to take a good look at your advent calendars, just not sure if it would get here in time with the way the mail is. Sounds like another busy day for you again today, but thats the best way to be isn't it!

Have a great Wednesday everyone

Good morning all. Today is going to be busy. Have to go out of town on business---yuck! But--it's only for a half a day. Of course, I'm working all day and then packing up and getting ready to leave for my trip tomorrow.

Chris--when you get that million $$$ send some this way. I think everyone is feeling the crunch this year. Always looking for ways to cut back.

Laurie--I stayed up way too late last night too. I started reading a book and then it was one more chapter, one more chapter and before I knew it it was 1:30AM! I'm feeling it today!

Clara--I hate doing self study too for continuing education. But even more so, I hate traveling to get them. This year I'm doing a mixture of both.

Frani-send some of that rain my way. We are still in a drought. I say go for it! Order that computer!!

Maureen--get that newsletter done so you can play!

Trudy--how cool that you sign up and see your results. Nothing like that here. Have to get them from the doctor.

Well--guess I need to get that rear in gear and get moving. Need to head out of town. Later ladies!

whoa!! how'd it get to be 12:26 p.m.?? i've been scrapping and doing laundry since about 9. i think it's time to de-jammie-fy and accomplish something that i can point to when my DH gets home.

have a happy, ladies. despite the bad stuff, we have to look for that one thing every day that just cracks us up. :pound: i know that sounds like crap when you're in the middle of...well...CRAP...but it's the only way to keep your soul alive. at least that's what i think.:eyebrows:

honestly. even if i DIDN'T like Oscraps so much, i'd hang out here just for the emoticons!!

Yep, it's playtime for me! got the meeting minutes done, got the newsletter done, and whadaya know. I sent everyone the minutes instead of the newsletter! Fortunately ONE woman went to read it right away and noticed the mistake. Sometimes I wonder if I'm sending into a black hole, but mine is not to question why. Mine is to write.

DH went off biking since it's such great weather for it. This little mouse is NOT cooking or doing house work for sure.
