The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Ahhhh! Spa day was so incredible! I hate to leave that place. Its just so nice to sit back, relax and be pampered. And I think I had the best facial ever. My skin feels sooo smooth and soft. It still looks like crap, but it feels great!!!

And today- its all back to the grind ;) I am working from home. I have some Faery-Wings orders and as long as I am doing that, I should start planning ahead for the December show I am doing.

Laurie- Have a great time off of work! Did the weather hold out for you ok? That "slug" feeling is me today. Rainy and pitch dark at 6 am. blech!

Katrina- my name is Chris, but I answer to Faery as well LOL I am way up in North Jersey, right on the NJ/NY border.
Awesome on working out the extractions. IMHO- it looks like it would be harder to do than it is.

Meg- yup, that is the kind of hunter that is OK by me LOL Hope everything works out with your IL's. Like you said, maybe it is a blessing in disguise for FIL. Safe trip!!

Nana- if I ever win those millions and I get to take the O-Plans around the world, we'll make sure we get some spa time in too!
If it makes you feel any better, I am in the "Blah/Unappreciated Mode" too. I don't get it how the rest of the family can just sit on their butts and watch me struggle to get everything done. Even when I leave a list (left a list of 4 things for Gary to do- scoop litter, clean up his papers on the kitchen island, make an appt for an oil change on my car and call the heating people)-- only one thing got done. In 8 hours! But I bet there was something good on the computer to check out... grrr......

I thought someone hid the soapbox from me!!!!!

Nana- good luck with the baby-news!!

(I could start a rant on the plans that people are doing for my brother and SIL 's baby... without involving me or my mother- the baby's *GRANDMOTHER* -- but I won't get into that today :D)

Sally- let me know when those things are posted. As you can see, I need some uplifting inspiration.
Have fun at Quilt Market! MIL isn't going this year. She has neck surgery scheduled on Nov 2 and it was just too much for her to get it all together. But she had a lot of quilts and other projects that will be on display. You should friend her on FB- i think you two would get along great!

Maybe next year, she and I can come out together.....

F-W orders-- I would say you can order them up to mid-December. but if you have anything in particular inmind, let me know now. I can make it up and put it aside If you change your mind, I can always use it for other baskets and/or gifts that I do at the last minute.

Trudy- hope that you are feeling better. If you and DH came down, I could make you some tea and chicken soup. When you were feeling better, then we could go to the spa!

Clara- what a rough time at the airport. And poor Ethan.... it must have been so hard on all of you. At least you are home with YMG and your puppy. That must help a bit.

Laurie- wow- you did get a lot done! Hope you have a fab trip!

xoxox to all of you!

Morning. Even though we put the kids to bed early they still took forever to get up. Even my dd! She ended up making the boys' lunches cause they didn't get up till 5 min before the bus showed. Grrrr.

So I had a fabulous idea for gifts for the grandparents this year. Nothing new to you all I'm sure. Last year we went to our first family reunion on dh's father's side. It was in a gorgeous area of WV. so I made up a hand made scrap book for grandpa for Christmas of him and the kids throughout the years. He loved it. For this year I will make up identical scrapbooks for the 2 sides of grandparents and maybe our favorite aunt! I plan to make this an annual deal. Sort of a story of the year past so they can be part of it. We live far away from everyone so they really aren't part of the kids' lives. It is sad.

Clara: sorry to hear things went so bad at the airport. I hate airports, but I love flying! Must get it from my dad (aeronautical engineer).

So thought I'd ask on here a question about scrapping. I see all these beautiful pages. But I can't figure out how to put together a page without it looking messy, or just not enough. How do you know jut the right place to put flowers and beads and what not to actually make it look somewhat symmetrical. I will use a photo as an example if that is ok. Borrowing from: Lulutoo an absolutely beautiful page. She put it all together so well. When I attempt this it just looks messy. But when everyone else does it it looks like everything was made to go right where it is!

Sally -- Thanks :) It's great to hear that!! Whenever people hear that we CHOSE to live with my in-laws, they think we're beyond weird, especially as somewhat newlyweds. But hey, that's how it was done for thousands of years, up until recently!

Clara -- Aw, airports really suck! I'm glad you guys made it through it all!! Hooray for mama bear getting her cubs TGI Fridays :)

Trudy -- I wish I could sleep in!!! But there's massive amounts of laundry to be done...

Chris -- LOL!!! I'm sure your face doesn't look like crap!!! I'm looking forward to my arbone facemask/facewash that my cousin in law gave me before my wedding -- my skin feels awful after the trip!

Katrina -- Try experimenting with moving around layers. I actually don't cluster a lot of elements in my LOs, I'm a pretty plain girl. But, one way to learn how others do it & see their process is to use templates with lots of clustering and papers. I've never used templates except for copy cat challenges and my latest zoo page, so I don't really know where to point you for templates that would match that style.
Honestly, I've always flown by the seat of my pants and experimented.

OK -- So I left Portland feeling yucky both because we were leaving & because something is up with my stupid body. The DH ended up driving THE WHOLE WAY HOME. He wouldn't let me take over. So, I either listened to the Paperclipping Digi Podcast or we talked about his business launching on the first.
This time we did make a few stops for pictures, Petra - I got photos (prob blurry) of the dragon & cow, and discovered there's a flower on the north side of the shasta river bridge on the east side of I-5, a mile or two north of the dragon. Mt Shasta was COVERED in snow from the storms, which looked AMAZING, especially since it was blahhh on the ride up.
We stopped at a Bass Pro Shop, because... confession... I absolutely love their low rise boot cut jeans. They're only $25, their petite cut fits me perfectly without needing to hem, they're an AMAZING quality -- they retain their stretch and size -- hardly wear out. I used to buy old navy jeans religiously, but they'd get all funky after four months or so. I've had my last few pairs of Bass Pro jeans for over a year now, the only problem is the color has faded. We also needed to get a peace offering gift for our baby furry girl Riley, she absolutely loves her turkey toy we got her a year ago. So, we got her a duck this time! They used to have a frog and lady bug, but it looks like they don't make those anymore.
Oh, and of course, I got some fudge at their fudge shop!!!

So, we finished the drive home -- got the scoop from my in laws -- and went to bed!

Today is Laundry Laundry Laundry. Plus, working to get some extra $$$ for the in laws, they have at least a hundred old cameras from Jeff's grandpa's estate. Jeff's going to try and list at least ten on ebay today.

Good Morning Sweet "O" Ladies!!! I am late in here again today, but not because I was sleeping in  Its because I really wanted to get some housework done and :washing: before I sat down at the computer with some :tea:

Meg - Here is a link for a tutorial on clustering http://thedailydigi.com/how-to-guide-for-clustering-elements/ It's funny because we are just doing a CT challenge on clustering so I had to do some practicing too.

Chris - Sounds like your facial was devine!! I have never had one, but maybe if I'm good Santa will put a gift cert. for one in my stocking this Christmas. I will have to check out your store for gifties and should browse through Sally's store too. Somedays my DH only does one chore on his list too...It's so frustrating :frusty: Why can't they handle doing more than one thing in a day???? Yet at work they probably are multi-tasking all the time.

Meg - the worst part of getting back home is all the :washing: It must have been hard to leave everyone behind you!! I used to pout for days when we left family after vacation. Hope the cameras bring in some cash for you're in-laws! What kind of business is your hubby going to start on the 1st??

Laurie - Hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Nana Linda, Clara,Krista, Sally, where are you today??

Trudy -- It's somewhat hard to describe, but here I go -- It's a paid classifieds site for selling boats & parts on the pacific coast. Basically, sellers pay like $14/mo to list their boat. We in turn have everything set up for search engine optimization, so that their listing will show up in search engines. There's three other sites that do paid classifieds for boats, but they don't offer search engine optimization. Buyers would have to go directly to those sites in order to find the listing. Plus, those other sites are super expensive -- like $85/six weeks. & they don't offer as many images per listing.
There's a lot more to it, and we've been trying to get this done since July. The hold up has been getting my DH to go downtown to get his FBN & tax id/business license so we could set up the business bank account & paypal.

OMGosh! Lookie at all the new O-faces :). I can't believe I've not posted in almost a yr here?!

Well, I'm back...........with a vengeance so I hope y'all won't get sick of seeing me around again :). I have missed everyone so much!

I can't wait to get to meet the new additions to the O-fam!

(((((hugs))))) to all!

Hi ladies, I haven't posted here in months and months, but I've been missing scrapping and my O fam. I see some familiar faces and some new ones too - looking forward to getting to know you ladies.

I actually scrapped a page last night for the CopyCat challenge, and let me tell you, it felt so so good. :)

Promise to stop back in again more regularly.

-Mary Ellen

hey everyone- believe it or not- still havn't started on the trip- hope to be on the road by 6:30pm- and drive till midnight or so. then a really long day in the car on thursday! But it will be in the 80's all week- hurray! Better finish up while waiting for dh to get here!

Well, I have hung up my little ole designing hat. I started a new job this month :). I decided I'd rather have fun scrapping in my free time ;). What better place to scrap than the O? hehe
Hi Mary Ellen, Chris, Elisa, and everyone I have yet to 'meet' :).

I think today should be made a holiday!!! ME and Dawn both in the same day?? Wow!! To what do we owe the honor to get them both in the same day. I can't wait to hear new bunny adventures and all about ME's little upcoming bundle of joy. Yay!! Yay!! Happy Dance!!

So today I slept, slept and slept some more. I looked at the clock and it was 8:30 and then it was a quarter to 2:00. What the heck?? Not cool. So I got up and got going for the day. What was worse was that the kids hadn't eaten or anything. I don't understand why Ethan didn't get them something to eat so I have to work on teaching Ethan how to make some easy stuff for breakfast and lunch because there is no reason for that. If he wakes up at 7 and I don't wake up until 8:30 he needs to be able to feed himself some cereal. I was not impressed with that. Or a PB&J. I mean seriously. But I got lots of sleep. I just hate it when I am such a mess.

I had hoped my house would be nice and neat when I came home but it was messy and nice. The things I left nice were not and then things I left a mess were nice. He was home by himself for a week...so Chris...I feel your pain. LOL!!! The airport yesterday was long but it wasn't horrible. It would have been worse if Derek had been with me. When things like that happen Derek gets really mad and it gets me all worked up because there is nothing to do about it and I need to move on to what's next and what are we going to do about it. I don't think we have time to sit and be angry. I mean if there is no answer and delta is screwing us over, yes I will have a panic attack in the middle of the airport, but getting ,ad just gets us mad. I can't change the weather, ya know? So, how do you keep kids entertained for 6 hours? You walk around the airport, eat, play at the play place, eat and walk some more. Avoid stores and walk some more, right?? So we got through the day but it was exhausting. So today was a very laid back day. Tomorrow will be back to the regularly scheduled programming. Okay, I have to get the kids off to bed before I have to catch up on some TV shows. So some quick personals...

Chris - I am so glad you got a spa day and I wish you got more than one a year. I can't believe you and your mom are getting left out of the planning for the prep for your brother's upcoming baby. That is very lame. Sounds like it isn't your brother but the outlying family and friends. People can be so thoughtless. Just remember whatever they do will be all well and good but whatever you do will be from the heart and will end up meaning more to him than anything else. Oh...and husbands are such a pain aren't they when it comes to doing what we ask them to...but the things we don't really need them to do...oh dear, that is just so important and why can't we be thankful that they reorganized the the laundry lint collection? I'm soooooo with you on male logic.

Katrina - isn't digiscrap great for scrap gifts? I love it. As far as clustering...lulu has been scrapping a long time so she is a gorgeous scrapper. I agree with that. Don't compare yourself to her...or to anybody, ever. That being said clustering is an art form, one that I am not an artist of. I love to layer but not cluster. When I find it necessary to cluster I do a couple of things, first of all I will use a template. Crystal Livesay here at Oscraps is a great cluster template creator. There are many other great template creators out there but she's who we have here. I am a template addict and I am all about using a template if it helps me accomplish what ever I am trying to accomplish. My other suggestion is if you see a scrapper who has a style that you like and can't replicate send them a PM and ask them how they do it. And last suggestion is to scraplift. If you go through the gallery and see something you like save it as a favorite and then when you get a chance scraplift it. Just make sure to credit it later in the credits. You just started scrapping. You won't learn everything in a couple of months. All of us have been scrapping for weeks to months to years and still continue to learn things as we go. So it is a continual learning process that you just keep at.

Meg - yay for not having to drive, yuck for feel like poo. I hope you feel better soon. Bass Pro is always fun. We had Cabela's by our house and always played there. It is one of Addie's favorite places. Sounds like a cool business plan for you and your hubby. I have a new business plan I'm thinking about. I want to open a coffee shack here in Fayetteville. I'm not sure if it is to make money or to get a decent cup of coffee. Either way I think it could be a interesting business venture if we could make coffee quick and in a place that would be really busy. We'll see. It depends on a couple of things if I would do it or not. We'll see.

Trudy - You are much better at discipline than I am. I have none. I would have sat at the computer first and got nothing done. Oooops.

Dawn - I love seeing you here. You know this though!! I'm going to miss your designing hat. :(

ME - Whoohoo!! So how's that baby bump going? And C?? How's ME-land??

Laurie - Are you going through NC??? Good luck on your trip.
