Daily Ooo's: Wednesday October 19

helloooooo!!! I have good news, my computer is aliiiive!!! I spent some time looking around the internets and kept seeing people have the same problem and said to make sure that everything is disconnected from the computer and motherboard. Well, I have no idea how to disconnect anything from the mobo, but I did have a USB card reader with a card in place attached. Took that out, rebooted and viola!!!
Whew!!!!

Then I went down to visit my mom and help her with her digital camera and printer and all that good stuff. I go down every 6 months or so, just to download pics from her card. She gets herself in such a panic and so confused over it, but yesterday, I think we had some good breakthrough! She was able to find the photos, crop them and print. Success!! (Now, the key is will she remember how to do all of that when her cameras card fills up again?). I am not a super-techie girl, but I can get my way around a computer pretty well. Its so hard to explain stuff to someone who thinks a microwave is the most advanced tech ever. LOL She does really well with analogies so that is my best way to explain.

Then we went out, had a nice lunch, got to visit a bit, and then she sent me home with a bag of groceries. She rocks, my mom. The bestest!

Today I have to go grocery shopping in the pouring rain. Bah humbug.... And I think I am going to have both kids home for dinner tonight, so I want to cook something "nice." what to cook???

I hate that my kids are growing up so fast...... wish I could slow it down, just a bit....

I wish I could keep my kids safe always. Anyone have some bubble wrap, and a long leash to tether them to the house? No?? Not a good idea, I guess :fear:
How about I wish I could get out of the supermarket spending less than $100??

Chris, i think i caught your computer problem bug yesterday. i spend HOURS on the phone with my Internet Provider, trying to figure out why i can't get a wireless signal 15 feet from my modem! we never DID figure it out, and they're answer was basically: oh, well! i was dealing with one of those sighimg, arrogant techies who can't believe how SUPIT his customers are. who's stupid?? me or the company who can't deliver service, then shrugs their shoulders?? THEN i did the iTunes update, and that got me into a 90 mintute nightmare. isn't technology supposed to SAVE TIME???? i wasted a whole lot of my day yesterday dealing with the technology. :frusty:

i really HAVE to get moving around here. can you believe i STILL haven't finished my kitchen window polyurethaning yet?? i keep getting sidetracked. i think, deep in my heart, i want My Fairy Godmother to just take care of it. Ain't happening.

Good Morning ladies!! I had a wonderful night all to myself last night, talked to my sister on the phone for almost an hour and caught up on all things family. We have been so busy with MG's family that I have been ignoring my side of the family. With three brothers and three sisters its hard to keep up!! Also got a couple of layouts done that I have been wanting to do so that was also very nice! Off to work for a short day and then I get the house to myself again. Perhaps I will be able to get in a nice walk before I have to get supper made. Our weather is supposed to change on Thursday and most likely we will not see the sun again for a long time. :hurt:

Chris - So glad that you got your computer working again!! So frustrating when things go wrong with them :smash: Your mother sounds like my MIL, I have to go to their house to do her pictures also, some she has never even seen before because they get sent to her and her husband can't be bothered to show them to her. She doesn't even know how to turn the computer on. I really don't think she wants to learn either. She lives in her own little corner of the world and doesn't realize what she is missing out on by not keeping in contact with the rest of the family. Sometimes she drives us :loco: but she is the sweetest lady and we love her dearly! How nice that your mom gives you groceries!! My mother would have done that too!! I miss her!

Phylis - Still working on that window?? If I lived closer I would come and help you with that! Sorry that you had such a frustrating day with the tech guy! Don't you just wish you could tell them a thing or two :rant: If you weren't having problems they wouldn't have a job!!! Glad to hear that you are still having sunny weather!

Hey guys!!! I've been a busy bee since I've been home on Sunday!! I have a fabric launch party going on on my blog (Sally's Angelworks) today!! yipeee!!! So, I was up until 3am posting!! I have to admit that I had rehearsal from 8-11:30pm, so I kinda started late!! And I was editing the cool video my friend and I had made! It's all very fun and wild. I tend to not do things calmly, I guess...all out for me.

Anyway, I'm hoping I can breathe a little bit more today! We'll see. I have several other deadlines I'm trying to make. I'm not sure, but I think I'm enjoying all of it a lot!!

Chris, yay on the computer fix!!! and I just love your mom, too!! Isn't it sooo fun that I've met her IRL??? I am so blessed to have you as a sweet friend!! ♥

Phyllis, ohhhh girl, I have the same trouble with my computer. I asked my tech guy (yep, I sleep with him, too!!) and he said ask another tech friend. I did and he just looked at me blankly...so for now, my laptop is on my craft studio desk plugged into a cat5 cable into the wall!! what????? it's like a desktop. And it won't communicate to the printer either...so no wireless for this baby!! ugh!! I hope you have better luck than me with it!! and no stress about your window...just enjoy, hun!! I know you will!!

Hi All!

Back home, and it must be Computer Day! While I was away, I did load the ACDSee App from the App store and LOVE LOVE it! Now I had my iMac to deal with. Some silly woman got so ticked with the App store app that seemed to bounce a lot when we first got it...well she tried to delete it a couple of months ago. So, I paid the price by having to talk through a reninstall of Snow Leopard with a Mac techie. Got that done, and then had the App store so it was time to install Lion. That has been a lot of my day. Oh yeah, I did get a load of laundry washed and dried while I watched my computer screen!

Chris...I'm so glad you got your baby back without having to spend $$s. I know what I am doing with a computer etc but I had a boss who had no idea how to 1. Get her photos off the cards 2. DO anything with them! Her answer was to buy new cards. She was a real challenge to our IT people because she sure got her computer jammed. Fortunately, she was a sweetheart in the Southern style...manipulate your way with niceness!

Phylis, there just seem to be days that the computers spin their wheels out of spite. (hint..hint....Mac...Mac...)

Trudy, house alone time ...that's the best...esp when balanced with someone we love.

Sally, video editing is one of my To Learn projects! Really the first thing I want to finally do is get some images from some of my short videos.

Well, I've already had my afternoon Espresso so I really should get going on something else done today. I want to catch up on my 365s this week. I was good all year, and then have fallen behind with two trips. cya later!

Good morning!!

I am dragging my butt today. Just can't get motivatd. I have started working on getting things for my daughter's birthday next month. We are making lip gloss and crowns. I need to find inexpensive FLAT lace trip. It is spendy. I found some that is gathered but not flat. Grrr!! So...nix that. I found a shop that had great prices and placed an order. Hopefully it works out well. I even got some flowers for all of them. They will be cute.

Tonight I had curriculum night at Addie's school and we had a tornado warning...so we ended up in the hallway for about 20 minutes. It was hot and loud but it ended soon enough. I was texting Andrea and was really glad she decided not to come. That would have been craziness for her.

So, today I had an appt wth an infectious disease doc. Ugh!! I waited in the waiting room forever, then when I finally got back...sat there for quite awhile. The doc was odd. Asked a lot of not well thought out open ended questions so it was hard to tell him anything. It sounds like he looks for STDs in everyone and I have been breaking out on my chin for awhile so he started asking me a bunch of herpes questions...which was kinda annoying. But whatever the case...he's doing a ton of blood work which will be great to check out my liver and EBV levels. The lab tech was at a meeting so I'll have to go back tomorrow. Not what I had planned, but I'll do what I gotta. There's not much the doc can do for me but my GP sucks and thinks anything I say to her means I need a referral. Annoying.

I wanted to do personals..but now I'm outta time. I'll try for tomorrow. Tomorrow is Volunteering day. Yay!! Later!!
