Happy Veteran's Day- I am so excited that Clara can "reveal" her special project today! I am so glad to have this opportunity to thank all of the military for everything they do.
Not getting political at all here, but I had been talking to my parents about the difference in attitude towards the wars going on today vs the country's attitude in WWII. I really think so many people now forget that there are so many of our country's soldiers out there still every day, working so hard to keep our country safe, and to make better lives for people in Iraq/Afghanistan.

I am blessed to be part of this wonderful O-Family where we do honor and remember and thank all of them.

on another very thankful note- I am so thankful for my crazywackyhuggablelovable O-Fam. Between the posts on Facebook, the obnoxious postings in the Posting Challnege thread and all of the typical wackiness of the Daily Ooo's, I was LMBO all day long.

Dawn- could you imagine if I made that?? Skunky-tomato air freshener? Buhahahah! Lets see, I could use some V-8 as a base.....there has to be some road kill near me...think I can use a squirrel as a substitute?

Oh man, that is just so wrong. PETA is going to be comin' after me know!

Andrea- yay for good days and morning snuggles!!! Double Yay for getting to talk to Vince!!!! That is an awesome gift for both of you. high fives to Atha, sounds like she is following in her momma's footsteps.
Congrats on the Sears list- you so deserve it!

Clara-- you are such a huge hearted person and I love you for that! Same exact thoughts here on patriotism vs politics.

leslie- good to know your name, thanks! My fingers are crossed for you too. Good results!!! My dh throws up constantly from the Lyme, it is awful- hope your dh feels better soon. If you have any ginger tea, that helps calm nausea. Some drug stores have ginger gum and Gary chews that a lot.
If not, peppermint tea is a good choice too (for some people, makes me feel worse)

Got to get Scott to the bus... Be back!

The little tins- I can do that.......it wuld be the same as the soy tarts, but in a tin!
I am working on F-W today- I know I need to place an order soon, but no rush, yet.... but if you have general ideas, that would be great to get me started in the right directions.

Clara-- you too, I haven't forgotten you either.... bad faery!

Today is going to have to be a supply closet clean out day more than a inthe kitchen day. Can you guess which one I like better?

Gooooood morning! Check this out: Yesterday I splurged and bought the Starbucks Christmas blend coffee to brew at home.. so expensive compared to Folgers, but- hey, Clara you'll understand this- I MISS MY PACIFIC NW COFFEE!!!! They drink it different there than folks down her in North Cakalackie. Anyway, I brought it home to mix with my big plastic tub of Folgers.... and discovered that I have been drinking DECAF for the past two weeks!!! WHOA! Well, now that it's mixed with the good stuff, at least I've got half caf now. I can't believe I didn't notice.

Anyway, yesterday got even better after I posted! I think I mentioned that the girls and I are going to a Strong Bonds retreat this weekend? It's offered through the Army for spouses of deployed soldiers. They put us up in a hotel for two nights, and we go to classes while the kids are cared for free of charge. I've never been on one of these, but I've been on marriage enrichment weekends with Vince and I assume this will be similar. Anyway, I found out last night that we are going to Great Wolf Lodge!! Not sure if any of you have heard of that place, but it's a family resort with a year round indoor water park, and all sorts of fun attractions for the kids. It's like $200/night usually, so I didn't think we'd ever go. Atha has been begging me to take her since she saw the ads on tv. Anyway, I'm just so blessed.

Chris- you sound chipper today! Good! I'm glad! I am loving my cake batter spray! I've been layering it with the Victoria's secret pear spray and a drop of the ginger oil you sent- I smell like some delicious holiday bread. Hahaha! You do candles, right? I'm going to have to place a Christmas candle order.

Loving my real coffee this morning!!!

Alrighty....I need help. I need a name for a new venture. Check out my blog(in my signature)....I wanted something with snappy in it but not gonna work out, there's too many combos already used....then I thought Scrapsy Daisy Designs...already exists, LOL...so I sorta 'settled' on Scrappy Daisy but it's too similar, KWIM? Isn't my name 'Dawn Miller' too boring? Like Dawn Miller Scraps or Designs...hmm...I thought of using some kind of combo of Sassy and Davy. Sooo, why don't y'all toss it around in your heads when you have a sec and help me come up with a name....hehehe. I'm drawing a blank and a good friend gave me good advice that I will be using the name a long time so I need to like it LOL. That's what I've been up to all day...woohoo.
 
OKay...I will be back in a bit. I just wanted to stop in and say hi. And say Happy Veteran's Day and tell you all about my wonderful Veteran's Day experience.

I ended up having a patient today right after I got my Vet Dat post up. I had him in the x-ray room and he said something about WWII and so I told him happy Veteran's Day and he ended up being the sweetest man with some wonderful stories and some horrible stories that you could tell he kept stored in that mind of his. He didn't get into anything but was telling me about something else and started crying when mentioning something in passing. It was heartbreaking. People from his era amaze me. I feel like people from my generation got a little bit jipped with all of this technology and instant gratification. We have no passion like they had then, even into the 70's they still had huge amounts of passion that you just don't see any more. It was just a perfect experience for me for Veteran's Day.

Well, now I have to go. I have to get some giftie baskets together. Oscraps designers are amazing. That is all I have to say about that. Amazing!! Okay...off to work. Love you guys!!

How about combining them with your name since Dawn has so many other feelings behind it.

So maybe Snappy Dawn Designs or Scrappy Dawn Designs or Dawn's Daisy Scraps.... IDK.. Just thinking :D

Dawn...I just checked out your blog...all I have to say is that Chris said the world revolved around me and I'm not happy about these new developments at all. I gave you a full explanation on your blog with the whole cause and effect scenario...not cool lady. Just what I need...more people designing awesome stuff.

So I finally made here today....I popped in a couple of times and did not even get time to read any posts before I would have to log off....my house has been a zoo today!!! DH was home, both babies, DD (off work today) SDD (youngest one) other DD and Jesse and a plumber!!!!!!!!!!!

A TOTAL ZOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Dawn........WOW!!!!!!!! this is totally awesome!! I checked your blog and those papers are GORGEOUS!!!!! You have been working your tush off!! I am no good with the name thing...but I like what Chris suggested about Davy (my fav was Double Dutch Designs)

Okay...I am so tired...I just gotta go rest a bit

Dawn... I know what you mean about how fun making papers are - I tried my hand last year and then again this past spring (for a designing contest at another site). Loved doing it, but elements were more difficult. I really like the newspaper text and the textures on some of your papers. I was reading your little blurb about your bunny after the papers - why not call your designs Spoiled Bunny Designs? People would remember the name, lol.

Clara - thanks again for what you did - I know there's a lot of people who appreciate it!

I need to go to bed soon - I was up working until 1:45am yesterday, so I didn't get a lot of sleep. And then I go into work and I have my monthly one-on-one meeting with my boss, and he's just starting to get sick (the most contagious time!), and popping Zicam. I don't need to get sick!!! He always tells us if we feel sick, stay at home. Then as part of the yearly performance review, he said he wanted me to let him know if there's anything he can do better - um, how about take your own advice and stay home so you don't get anyone else sick?!?

I'm moving along on knitting the baby blanket - I'm about 80% done. Since the mommy stabilized and is no longer contracting/dilating (2 months early!), I'm not as panicked to get this done right now. But I hope to get it done by the weekend (I have a knitting group get-together on Friday so that'll be the perfect time to finish).

I sure hope you don't get sick after being around your boss! You are so right about elements, I'm working on making them to go with my papers.

ooooh you got me thinking....Daybreak Designs....hmm...have to go check and see if that's taken LOL. My middle name means battle maiden, I could use that LMBO! y'all are soooo not finding out what it is though hahaha.
