The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
helllooooo!!! How are ya doing today?

Me-- I am hanging in there, trying my best to keep myself busy and stress-free. Is it working?
:hahano:

One good note is that I messaged the orthopedist about not sleeping in the boot and he said that was fine. Whew. He suggested wrapping it if it was bothering me. I was wrapping it initially but stopped. Tried it again last night and ripped it off around 2 am.

Yesterday was another same-old, same-old. I basically puttered around from one small activity to another. I glued the two sides of the faery house together and the next step is to build the book cover around it. I spent a little while sitting on the front steps scraping the bark off of my hiking stick. After seeing those beautiful ones in the bird store, I want to sand mine down and maybe throw some stain on it. Maybe just clearcoat depending on how the grain looks once I sand it. It was unfortunately too chilly to sit in the shade and I didn't have it in me to find a chair. Yeah, I could have asked Gary to do it for me but he isn't feeling well at all either.

I will ask him to do that for me today since it is going to be even nicer this afternoon. I have to get some sunshine and fresh air. My other "big" plans today- wash and blow-dry my hair. Woo hoo. :rolleyes1:
Scott and Sam are flying back home today and he is coming over for coffee tomorrow morning. That is something very good to look fwd to.

Have a wonderful day!!

Good Morning.
Quick in and out today. I need to put in some serious time in Bible study this morning. I have neglected our Psalms study with our women's group at church this month! For shame!

No plans at all today. I straightened up the house before Ilene came over today, so today is going to be a pj day, I believe. At some point I need to catch up on my forgotten ATCs, too! Still no word about the car!

Have a wonderful day!

too chilly to sit in the shade
Same here, even though it finally hit 70 in the afternoon.....the shade and breeze were chilly!
I could have asked Gary to do it for me but he isn't feeling well at all either.
Poor guy! Prayers he feels better soon!
he is coming over for coffee tomorrow morning. That is something very good to look fwd to.
I love visiting with my sons!

I just had the funniest conversation with Gary. He told Scott that he'd be able to pick them up from the airport when they land at 9.30 pm. He's been insisting for weeks that he could do it. His dad offered to pick them up too and it seems that he *wants* to. Gary can rarely leave the house for more than and hour or so and the airport is and hour and a half, no traffic, from us. His reasoning is that he wants to be able to help his kids. I turned my own issues with accepting help from my mom and said that *we* are *their* kids and they want to help us. His response: Shaddup. :tongueout1:
Bwuahahaha!!
@BoatLady I hope you enjoyed your "slow" day yesterday. Did it turn out to be slow or did you end up working outside for much of the day? I am so excited for hummingbird season, just a few more weeks until I can put out the feeders. April 15-30 is the migration arrival window so I want to be ready for them.
What kinds of hummingbird species do you see? I've only seen ruby-throated but maybe having the camera-feeder will give me a chance to see different species. If NJ gets other species. I'll need to research that.
We went up into the Alleghenies on Saturday for a Maple Festival. It was fun, but not something I need again. Incredibly long lines at the places selling maple donuts everywhere. We went to a couple "sugar camps" and saw them collecting sap and making syrup.
Come to NJ next season and I'll hook you up with a personal tour :giggle4:
If the Maple Festival was anything like the Apple Festivals we have here, I can imagine the long lines and too many people.
Congrats on finishing the 6 March Challenges. :highfive: I did three so far and almost never finish all 6.
My go-to for immune boosting (ignore me if I mentioned this to you already) -- garlic pills. And TY for the reminder, Tom has a cold and I want to pop a couple of them with my morning meds.
I am sending you a vat of chicken soup to help as well, so feel better and good thoughts to you and your mom. Fingers crossed the sale goes perfectly!

@taxed4ever Another rainy day and no hike for you? That's such a bummer.
I hope that you and the family had a wonderful dinner and not too many tears as you said goodbye to your niece. It sounds like the menu was delicious and I know there was much love at the table too. :hug3:
I hope that you find something cute to wear for the retirement dinner. Will your Gary wear his red uniform?

Did I tell you all that Gary and I got invited to Jen and Jake's wedding in July? I wasn't sure if we would but I am super excited! My BFF is going to be at a wedding at the same venue the week before us and she asked me yesterday what I was going to wear and sent me links to Lulus.com.

@AK_Tracy When I would eat corned beef I always wished there was a better way to plan for the right ratio of potatoes and cabbage and meat. The meat always shrinks so much that what starts out as a nice mix, ends up with lotsa cabbage leftover.
Thank you for the awesome freezable veggie list!
I freeze ginger root too but it always gets lost in the messy freezer. :D
Celery makes so much sense to keep it for soups. Why did I never think of that? Do you freeze carrots too?
I hope you rested yesterday and DO NOT OVERDO IT TODAY!

@BrightEyes Oh wow, I can't believe that your neighbor slept through that chaos, just the flashing lights alone would have woken me up.
I am letting out a huge sigh of relief with you that you found all of your files.
Hope the winds are calmer today.

Oh yikes, I just read your second post! That wind/dust storm sounds crazy!
What a relief to hear that your nephew's surgery went well.
How is your SIL doing, is he still in ICU? Healing thoughts are sent to everyone.

@vickyday Well, that's an awesome bonus- that you can play games instead of doing meal prep when Ilene stays for dinner :)
Win-win-win!
Hope you slept well again!

xoxo

Good Morning!

Do you freeze carrots too?
I hope you rested yesterday and DO NOT OVERDO IT TODAY!
I don't freeze carrots just because they dont last that long in the house. I have done it and they're fine. Not something you want to eat like a fresh carrot but they freeze good.

Overdo???? Me??? Huh? Dont know what you mean or who you talking to. :floorlaugh:

Today is Wednesday. My first one back at church since surgery. Hubs is worried I am overdoing it. I have asked for help. Its an easier dinner then some of them. I have told them I cant lift the pans into the oven and I will be sitting now and then. So I have taken all precautions and will do my best. But knowing me, I will push harder then Should just so others dont have to do as much.

I made some side by side, from September and this week. Look how they changed......

1742397718461.jpeg
They only did knees down. but you can see on the side view much the backside now doesn't curve way out. My ankles are a tad swollen but that will reduce the more I heal. I ant wait for them to tackle the hips n thighs in May.

Okay, off and running. Need to slowly get compression on and hope it stays up today. @vickyday Enjoy your pj day and relax. Sounds like a great day for that freezer meal. Sit back, relax, scrap, read, just chill.
Have a great day!

Woke up again too early... 4:30AM! Ugh!!! Seems like every other day is an early wake-up. Didn't get quite as cold as predicted... 31*F instead of 25*. They just added a snow alert to start in about an hour from now. I will believe it when it happens. More wind again today but should not be as bad as yesterday.

Haven't heard from DD#2 about how her hubby is doing. I guess no news is good news... ? ? ? ? Turns out my nephew didn't have heart surgery... think it was a stent placement. He was feeling well enough to post to me on FB. :beatingheart:

@faerywings I hope that Gary will listen and let his Dad go to the airport to pickup the kids... Glad you are listening and going to let others help both of you right now. At least you got some planning done while staying home. Was LOL as I could picture you on the scooter racing up and down the trails - and everyone scrambling to get out of your way!!! :motorcycle:

@AK_Tracy Yes, I can see in the side view that the calves are not as swollen. I think your hubby is right... you may be doing a tad more than you should. I can't imagine standing/cooking for that long.

Need more :coffee1: and should get dressed soon. Yep... back to heavier slacks and may add a sweater over my LS teeshirt. BBL

I think your hubby is right... you may be doing a tad more than you should. I can't imagine standing/cooking for that long.
Shhhhh dont tell him!!!! I am going to sit when I can. I dont want any complications so I will listen to my body and sit.

Morning everyone! Dark and gloomy outside this morning, the rain has just started to fall and looks like it won't stop until next week. Ugh!! That's ok I have a bit of a sore throat this morning, hope that I am not getting sick!! I can't be sick, I have a retirement party to go to on Friday!! I got so busy getting everything ready for our dinner last night that I forgot to post my layout for the border challenge. I will do that right away. We had a lovely time with Veronica and Nicci!! Lots of laughs, no tears and we shared lots of memories and good times of being together! Dinner was delicious and the wine was flowing LOL. SIL Veronica was the driver last night so she did not partake but still had a really good time as we watched a few You Tube videos of her daughter singing, she has a beautiful voice! She got that from her Dad, my brother loved music and had a great voice also. Here is one of her videos. Anyway I better get this posted as Heather will be calling soon.

Yesterday was another same-old, same-old. I basically puttered around from one small activity to another. Hope that you get your faery house finished today and post some photos for us to see! I can just see you out on your front porch whittling away at your walking stick LOL hopefully you get a chair to sit on today. Your poor Gary, it sure would be nice if he could feel better, it must be so awful to feel sickly all the time!
No plans at all today. I straightened up the house before Ilene came over today, so today is going to be a pj day, I believe. At some point I need to catch up on my forgotten ATCs, too! Still no word about the car!
Enjoy your pj day today! Good luck with your bible studies and catching up with your ATC's. I still can't believe that your car is not fixed yet!!

How fun to be looking forward to the wedding!! I hope you find something great to wear, I will have to check out the Lulus.com but if it is only in the States, then I am sorry but I won't be buying it. Only buying Canadian made now.
They just added a snow alert to start in about an hour from now. I will believe it when it happens. More wind again today but should not be as bad as yesterday.
OMG really?? More snow and more wind too!! Stay nice and dry and warm at home today! Hope that the no news is good news about your SIL!

Ok off to the shower and then I need to find some medicine for this sore throat, wish me luck that it doesn't turn into a bad cold or something worse. :waving1

Meeting with our finance guy yesterday worked; he talked me down off the ledge, at least for a while. But even better, he gave me a really good option for how to handle mom's money so it will work for her. Mom and I have appointments at a couple banks on Friday, once I get down to Florida. Sudafed is working pretty well at tamping down my cold symptoms so I don't scare the people around me. And when I checked in on my flights this morning I was able to move to better seats.
:woohoo:

I took my state tax forms to the post office to mail this morning. It's 72° and sunny! I was out doing errands in a short sleeve shirt. Humidity is very low and we have gusty winds so we're under a fire advisory, so that's something to keep an eye out for. So many of them are started by people tossing their cigarette out the car window. I mean, really? It's been such an issue that the fire department has been asking businesses to replace mulch with rocks in their planting beds along streets. Sometimes I wonder what did these people's mothers teach them?

I am sending you a vat of chicken soup to help as well, so feel better and good thoughts to you and your mom. Fingers crossed the sale goes perfectly!
Appreciate the chicken soup thoughts! Yes, we are all crossing fingers and toes and anything else we can think of. So far all looks good for Monday closing. I'm sure Mom will be emotional, she's been there for 30 years. I'll find a place to take her out to lunch.

I made some side by side, from September and this week. Look how they changed
I can see the improvement. Keep on taking care!

I better go and start thinking about packing for Florida. My utter lack of imagination always makes it hard for me to bring the right clothes to a different climate, so I'm glad it's warm today. I'm inspired to polo shirts and sandals,

That car..........:banghead: I'm sure that is what the mechanic is doing!

Wow! Beautiful voice! Beautiful girl! (I can call her a girl since I'm almost 70, lol) She sounds like she has a southern accent! Is this the girl that lives in Australia?

Yes Nicci is Canadian born and raised but has spent many years in Australia and picked up the accent. Her brother for some reason has no Aussie accent at all.

Hi everyone. Our weather is warm here- getting to 80 today. The house is still cool- (normal) Not much going on. I got an epidural a week ago and I am not impressed with pain relief. Little to none. Probably won't do that again. Still deciding on surgery on L1 (again) in the summer. That is about it.
