Woohoo! Back to sunshine. Maybe, hopefully, we will have a bit less humidity than yesterday. Even in my ponytail, my hair was a wreck! You should have seen it.:scared: <~ accurate representation

I was trying really hard to not have a meltdown yesterday. I was getting myself overwhelmed. There is just so much that needs to get done even as I am slowly chipping away at it all. Food shopping went fine even if I forgot some things. I made the banana bread wrappers for the dads- they just need to get printed. PT was fine too. I have to say that it is astounding to me that simply moving my foot/ankle could be so exhausting for it. I really was feeling an ache by the end of the 45 minutes. I think (with my non-medical degree heh!) that my tendon has been messed up for a long time. It has given me issues for years and years, this is the one that when my Lyme would flare, it would get hard and inflamed. It the tendon that the cyst formed on. And the physical therapist said that he could feel it "flapping around" (his words- yuck) while I was moving it. Maybe the PT will help it more than anything else.
Gotta get it ready to walk on the sand by September.

My parents are coming up today to take me to lunch. Caitlyn is coming with us and my brother too. I think it will be good for my dad. Another one of his long-time fire-fighting buddies passed away. This was the second in a couple of months and I think my dad is pretty much the last of his cohort. My brother said that he isn't taking it too well. Any advice on how I can help him?

It will be very good for me to stay away from the news. It is heartbreaking to see again and again.

Have a fabulous day!!!

Nancy- I don't watch soccer, but I have been seeing a lot of headlines about the US Women's Team and they seem like they are on fire. It has to be exciting to see. The chicken salad sounds really good. The sun came out here around 3 pm and the temps soared. I could see it go up on the temp gauge on my car as I was driving home. Missing keys! That was a huge reason I gave Scott money to put towards a spare key for his car. He is notorious for misplacing his keys.

Trudy- By me, the rivers and streams are so high. I don't understand how people are ignoring the climate issues. You most likely haven't heard in Canada, but Oregon's State GOP fled to Idaho so they wouldn't have to vote on a climate bill so now the Dems have to pull the bill so the GOP will come back into the state. Insanity.
I am so happy that you are having such a fab time painting. I wish I had artistic talent like that. I wish we had underground powerlines too. Every winter storm or tropical storm we end up with trees taking down lines.
Hope you had a good time at the pool!

Felis- what a peaceful time you must be enjoying with nice weather and no allergies. Cait asked if I wanted to take Whisky for a swim in the lake the other day and I didn't have time but soon I will. keep enjoying the day!

Hugs to all of you who stop in!

good morning!

Happy Birthday Chris! You are getting a beautiful day! It will be summer upper 80s! Enjoy being pampered at lunch. Hugs to you dad I am sure it is hard.

My day was wonderful as I got a lot accomplished. Mostly it was spending money on me. In the summer my pants don't have big pockets for carrying my phone and other stuff so I decided to splurge and I got the new apple watch. I don't have to have my phone for the watch to accept calls but the best is that if I fall it calls someone to come help me and since I had my knee replacement this makes me really happy as I walk Luther. Also it is waterproof so I can now include my wellness swimming workouts. No more worrying about the weather either. My DH and I have owed our son for Christmas and birthday since I was unable to go so I got him his watch. He is a happy camper too. The woman at the store was so nice. Then I finally went and got a new pair new tennis shoes, they are lavender and I love them. Came home and made a really tasty hot Italian sausage sandwiches. Today is out to dinner with my girlfriend. Nice not to cook when it is warm outside. LOL.

Felis so glad you had such a nice weekend. Awesome that the allergies are under control. I don't think weeds will be under control. How nice to just enjoy the summer.

Trudy glad you are still enjoying your laps. While I am not a swimmer but I am learning that working out in the pool is really good! Have fun painting!

Waving to all. Have a great day!

Morning, gals. Was a busy day yesterday... had several LOs to upload and 3 new kits to work with. Only got 2 of them done so will have to take time this morning to get the last one done. Ran over to the bread store then stopped to get a sympathy card for the son of a friend who died last week. Then on to see the Endocrinologist for my yearly check. All was good with the tests and he suggested that I go back to my primary care for follow-ups as I have been stable for the past year and a half. YEA!!! If things flare up, she can always refer me back to him. So one less doctor to have to see! :whoo: Stopped by the library on my way home but only found 2 books that sounded good. The other one I wanted wasn't on the shelf. I did find "Shelter In Place" by Nora Roberts in the Friends of the Library book sale area. Whoo-whoo

:bday, Chris!!! Hope you have a great one. Sorry to hear that PT is exhausting right now but it will improve. Glad you have finally got in and starting your treatments.

Nancy, congrats on getting the new Apple Watch. My DD#1 has one and loves it. Don't blame you for wanting an emergency call if you took a tumble [hope that never happens].

Woke up to higher temps this morning... already into the mid-70's. I was getting spoiled to the low 60's when I got up. Loved being able to have the house open for a couple of hours in the morning. << sigh >> Guess the summer temps are here and it will stay hot even in the mornings.

Morning ladies... another dry day, but hopefully rain is on its way for tomorrow. No hike for me today, it will be another very hard climb and is a very long distance away. Wish they would stick to local ones and not so strenuous ones in the warm summer months! Oh well lots of other things to do today. I need to get a page done and I also need to get to Walmart and pick up a few kites for the kids to fly while they are here. It has been perfect kite flying weather as of late, the winds pick up every afternoon. Another reason why I know there is climate change, we never used to have such windy days!!

Chris - :HapBirth: my faery friend!! I hope your day is amazing and you get to do something fun! Going out for lunch with your Mom and Dad, Cait and your Brother sounds like a lovely way to spend the afternoon! Sorry to hear that your PT was so tiring, it will get better, be a good patient and do your exercises, it will get easier! Stressing out about all the things that you need to get done is not helping out I am sure, but we know that you will get it all done and then wonder why you stressed so much about it LOL. The things that some will do to not have to vote on a bill is craziness!! No wonder the world is falling apart!! Try to enjoy your special day my friend, you deserve it!! Sorry that your Dad is feeling down in the dumps! It is hard to lose friends and it seems to happen frequently as we age. No real good advice to give except to be there if he needs to talk to you about it.

Felis - So nice to hear that you are over allergy season and can enjoy being outdoors! I really need to get to the gallery and check out your latest pages! I will post photos of my re-done paintings soon I just have to wait for them to dry and get a few coats of protection on them. What a nice birthday cake you made for Chris!! It is perfect for her LOL. I hope that you continue to enjoy lovely weather and get to spend some time relaxing in the sunshine, perhaps with a good book to read.

Nancy - The best money spent is on yourself!! LOL I would love to have an iWatch for my swimming time!! I see lots of people in the pool with them. Mostly I would love to be able to listen to music when I do my laps! Do they make wireless waterproof earbuds?? I will have to look into that! Sounds like you had a great day yesterday with new shoes too and today you don't have to cook!! Lucky you!! Enjoy your time with your bestie at supper tonight!

Kay - You have been a scrapping machine lately!! All of your layouts are amazing!! Congrats on having one less Dr. to have to see!! Hope you are able to keep the house cool during your warmer days!

Well I am getting a facetime call from Heather and Hunter and then off to Walmart. Have a great day everyone!

Yesterday was stunningly gorgeous with sun, blue sky, low humidity, a nice breeze and warm. Today it might be getting warmer than I like, but so far OK. Yesterday afternoon I met a friend at a library between the places we live to help her with computer technical stuff with an article she's written and other stuff. That was nice too.

Chris, to go with Felis's birthday cake, here's a gift we wish we could give you
f9a29bec1164884111b26ab0fee7d55c--cricut-air-cricut-design.jpg

Hope you enjoy the day. I also have no tips for your Dad, it just is hard. And PT may be hard but I see it as nearly miraculous in results both DH and I have had. Sounds like you really need this. Also hope you can take a chill pill about the pre-party stress. You'll get done whatever needs it, anything else can take a hike.

Felis, wonderful cake! I see you are really getting into the challenge LOs. That inverse one is stunning. Glad you're past the allergy season and can enjoy. Hope it doesn't get too hot.

Nancy, the iWatch for you and DS sound like wonderful ideas both. And I like the sound of lavender tennies. How soon is the Alaska trip? Where to?

Kay, that's great news that you can cross a doctor off your list. Good news is something to treasure. Keeping the house cool must be a chore when it gets too hot in the morning. Wishing you a cool breeze.

Trudy, I saw the paintings, Tequila Sunrise and the turtle and both look beautiful and exciting. I'm so happy that you have had all this creativity able to come out and even get sales from it. Hope you can still do a little when the grands are around. They ought to be able to see grammie at work, but know you put the good paints away. Oh well, they'll get to see these beautiful paintings. Be sure to take them to the gallery. Enjoy the pool and don't worry about the hike. How soon will they be there?

Enjoy summer!

Hope you have a great birthday celebration with your family today, Chris.

Nothing new with me...working, reading, visiting B and scrapping when I can.

Take care, everyone!

Hi again girls!

Chris, such a sad post for a birthday. The world looks like awful and hopeless case at the news, but fact that you care and try to make it better place do matter! I know they say: ''one bad apple spoils the barrel'' (ufff in my language it is for honey and have official option whit 'drop of tar ' and cynical slang version). But in these days we are occupied with too big 'barrel'! So in the end of the day if you know that you're not neglect some injustice which directly is cross your way, it is not worth to torturing! I mean even Batman have Bat-Signal to summoning him in the event his help is needed, no one can circle around and save the world on full working time. I don't want even mentioned again the old wound, how our creator looks uninterested and even sadistic, if God exist at all.
I'm so sorry for your dad's mood too, for him it's hard for sure. I don't have good advises for this, sorry! These times of mourning remind us that we must spend more time with one each other, instead wasted it in stupid errands. Just hope that your family was able to abstain from their own problems and concentrate on you, making you the star of the day! :hugs:
The PT session sounds good and hope that he is kind with you!

Rae  !

Nancy, L O L I can't be more agree with you about your post. Not enough space in my pockets is something that I always repeat! How people expect such a big screen to be put in back pocket without to drop every time when you sit?! One of the singers I'm fan of, was made IG review to one of these phone watch, and she looks very pleasant with it. I mean I know they give it to her for ad, but when she continue to use it after that, this should mean something as well. And the lavender is my favorite color for clothes and shoes! And we had Italian diner too, but with pizza for me ;) .

Jean, these jars are so sweet, nice chose too! It's getting warmer than I like, with sure, even when we still have few drizzling per day. Your friends are lucky to have some so responsive as you! Glad you had fun!

Trudy, LOL L O L, silly me, you are said 'kites', but my brain saw it as a 'kittens', and I was "wait what she doing with kittens in wind?!" LOL. Oh I have to scrap one page with kites, have this lyric in my head from ages, that will fit perfectly with kites, so maybe next month! Bad that hike is not organised as you supposed, and you are right about that! I guess they try to be more varied, but it's not smart for the Summer.

Kay, of, great for the good news from your yearly check! Don't you love this moment when opened one kit for first time and the elements talk to you with tons of possibilities?! My favorite thing in the Summer is that we are able to let our windows open for the night, these smells and sounds almost recompense the day hotness.

You are right, girls, it's so nice finally to be able to stay outside and enjoy my favorite activities! I'm really thrilled, but this makes me kind of irresponsible too :( . So for the end of the week I'll be very busy with my work, as I'm ignored it a little bit and dragged it till the deadline (ufff this is such an ugly word). I also wasn't enough active commenting at the gallery, but hope to to catch up at the weekend! :spit: . :ranger:
