Good morning ladies. You know...Wednesday is my favorite day of the week...but thanks to Addie's school schedule I have started dreading it. Boooo!! Oh well...it is all good. It just means I get the kids home earlier.
So, it is looking more and more like I won't be getting an x-ray job here in Fayetteville. Ugh!! I do have a backup plan but I can't plan on anything until Derek knows what's going on with his Army career. We need to hear about whether they will be offering early retirements or not. I hate waiting...but hopefully next month we will find out. So...the back up plan. As most of you know I am from the Seattle area. Because Starbucks, SEattle's Best, Tully's, etc started there and got everyone all dependent on coffee they also have coffee stands on the corners where there is no big name shop. There are so many of them that the girls started wearing bikinis in many of them as a gimmick to bring in traffic. There may be more bikini baristas than regular ones at this point. But back to my point....all we have here are 3 Starbucks and 3-4 shops and that just doesn't do it. 2 of the Starbucks have drive-thrus and it doesn't make me happy. So, I think if it turns out we are going to be here for a few more years I should open a stand. I just need to figure out how to do it and how to afford it...but most importantly if we are going to be here long enough to make it worth it.
This week i am going to start volunteering again. I had to stop for a little bit because my friend Andrea wasn't able to watch her anymore since her schedule changed. I was all excited because she's moving into my neighborhood but her kids will be going to one of the other schools in our neighborhood.
But another mom from Addie's class has offered to watch her once a week and take her to school so I can spend 4 hours there instead of 2.5 hours. I just want to keep up my skills.
So, Valentine's day was good. WE made our Valentines (I got it in my head that we will make them each year) and I let Ethan pick out what he wanted to make this year so we made little sticks of dynamite with a tag that said "You are the BOMB!" They came out pretty cute. I love Pinterest. I just typed in Valentines and let me son go thru and pick stuff. We used smarties, and wrapped them in red paper. They were a hit. I need to put the pic I took on Pinterest. I thought Addie would not be impressed but she wanted them too. So, I decided several years ago that Valentines Day was going to be about the kids instead of about us...so we don't generally go out to dinner and make something fun. So this year was heart shaped pizzas and pink milk shakes and we watched a movie together. It was fun. Of course Derek came home all ready to run out and get the kids something and I threw a little fit that he didn't think of it ahead of time and so said no since we were doing stuff for them anyway and I had been talking to him about it for days. He's such a brat...but he's my brat so I guess it is alright.
Chris - guess what I'm doing this weekend?? RENT is this weekend. YAY!!! I can't wait. We're gonna go to dinner in Raleigh and make a night of it. A friend of mine was talking to a friend of hers that lived up there about places to go out to eat and every place she came up with were places we have here. LOL!! We'll figure it out I'm sure.
Laurie - You rock with your health motivation. I hate being healthy.
I have been eating well though which makes me happy but exercise and I do not get along very well. LOL!!
Linda - Are you going to Hawaii? I need a vacation so bad. WE are thinking about going to Gulf Shores, AL in May...but who needs a vacation in May. I love February vacations. That is the best time of year to go on a sunny trip.
Phyllis - that stinks when being awake is stressful. A trip to the museum sounds like a great diversion. Maybe it is time to start trying to plan a vacation so you have something to look forward too. Hugs!!
Kristy - that's h ow my husband is too...only he has ADHD and so that is generally why he's like that. Doesn't make it any less annoying but he has something to blame. LOL!!
OKay ladies...have a fantastic rest of your day.
OH!!!! Did you see? The new designer?? Dido Designs has joined us here at the O and I am so excited!!
