The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Iiiiittsss Hump Day! The snow predicted for today was only a coating and some snow showers are passing through. The next round is coming through overnight. Didn't I say I was done with snow? Even nuisance snow? All of it?? I know I did. :sad1:

In case anyone was wondering, I found my new moisturizer bottle in the recycling can outside. Ooops.

My hair is blond again and I like the way she did the bangs. I'm going to feel bald next time I wash my hair. I always end up using way too much shampoo that first time as well. Even though she only took off <1", it makes such a difference. The next time I'm at work, I'll have to put a little extra makeup on so I can get a "headshot" done. They are redoing the Staff page on the website so they want a headshot-type photo from each of us. I am so vain that was the push I needed to make the appt. Granted, the last time I got it cut/colored was before Cait's wedding which is 5 months tomorrow. (!!!)

I scrapped two(ish) pages yesterday. I finished the AJ page I was struggling with the day before and then I did one for the new Foxeysquirrel papers that are in the shop. The computer didn't seem as laggy as it was but darned if I could figure any of it out.
Just plugging along and hoping for the best. :praying2:

I am cleaning for my weapons-friend this afternoon and other than that, I have a free day.
Wishing all lof you a wonderful day too!

@faerywings oh my...I'm glad you found the elusive groceries. I was talking to a friend last night she said her doctor told her as we age our brain gets smaller and the skull fills with a body fluid....well I said that is a good excuse for when I cannot remember something- it was in the other part of my brain that shrunk!!!
The fluid around my shrinking brain is a mix of coffee and wine so that might also be an issue!!!:rotfl:
Oh! You can't drink alcohol while on Tindamax so the fluid is also decreasing. I have to step up my coffee intake for now. :coffeedrinker:
Sorry that the crows are getting to your loquats. What are they, like a kumquat?
Snow has started and is coming down heavy. Pick your number, will it be 3" or 11"? The weather guys are all over the map on this one. But everything I was supposed to do was canceled so I'm going to work on scrapbook pages. You folks talking about taxes are not motivating me in that direction.
Inquiring minds want to know how much you ended up getting.
I have the perfect excuse to not work on taxes! I went through everything again. E-filed Federal without any problem. I can't file State taxes, NJ's files aren't available yet. I searched the Turbo Tax website and it seems that they don't have the sttes filing info included in the software yet. It is supposed to be available after Feb 12th. I had to sign up to get an alert when I can go back and update the software. Maybe VA is the same. No point in starting your taxes just yet if you can't finish them, right? :devil2:
Trying to warm up the kitchen and have the electric fireplace running behind me, but my fingers are cold and I have to wrap them around my nice warm cup of coffee. It won't be nice and warm for long! I am still trying to book our flights and of course the website is down this morning. I looked most of the day for good flights and sale prices and it seems that we will have to fly to Toronto and then get a car rental and drive to Mitchell, which isn't too far away. We were going to get a rental anyway. Sure hope the site gets up and running soon! SIL Linda and I are headed over to the In-Laws for an afternoon of taking apart a wedding dress LOL. It is SIL Sharon's (my Gary's youngest sister) wedding dress and it has a lot of bling on it!! I will keep some of it for my mixed media projects and probably SIL Linda will want some too.
I hope that you stayed warm throughout the day. It's been cold and damp and my hands/feet are getting hit hard. Caitlyn got me alpaca fingerless gloves from The Greater Good site for Xmas and I love them. They don't help my fingertips but they are dang cozy.
Any luck getting flights booked?
What an awesome idea to take apart the wedding dress for some MM projects. Have fun!

@bcgal00 I bet Remi was thrilled to have a puppy playdate. Her knee is still holding up well? *fingers crossed*
heck yeah to winning a $25 GC! Now you can get a dozen eggs :p Are eggs as expensive in CA as they are here? The big meme/joke right now is getting a dozen eggs instead of a box of chocolate for Valentine's Day Hahaha!!
My PS version is also ancient (PS5) and was never able to get Bridge to work correctly with it. I can't remember 100%, but I think it didn't support the file types I use or it would hang or something else weird. You know I go through this cycle every few years w/ ACDSee and my love/hate relationship with it.
In the off-season I scrap and crochet. I love crocheting blankets and I enter them into the Missouri State Fair. I've entered the last 3 years and have one 1st place, two 2nd place, and two 3rd place. It's really fun going to the fair to see you fared. (LOL see what I did there!)
Oh wow! That is amazing! I taught myself crochet years ago but I am not very good. Love the puns :)
I showed the faery house and the other project to Mark and told him I thought it would be a fun project for us to do together. He agreed, but I guess we will probably wait to purchase the kit(s) until after we get this stupid car taken care of! Have to take it back to the shop tomorrow night after church.
That will be fun for the two of you!
I don't even know what to say about the car at this point. Props to your mechanic who doesn't seem to want to give up on it.

Waving hi to @Cherylndesigns and @AK_Tracy and everyone!!!

One of the little faery houses we made-- this is from 2004 :p
Good morning, to all.
Chris I love your fairy house, so sweet. Thanks for showing...
I'm glad you found the bottle you were missing.
We got about two inches of that dreaded 4-letter word last night. I'm with you and so over it all.....
Take care :beatingheart:

Wow! 5 months already! Cait and Tom's probably thinking the same thing! Did he ever get the job he was going for? Or did I miss that announcement along the way? Or is it even Tom I'm thinking about, lol

Waving hi to @Cherylndesigns and @AK_Tracy and everyone!!!
That's the only reason Mark keeps taking it back to this mechanic. He trusts him and knows he won't give up until he has figured it out.

Morning, gals. Yesterday was not a good day. I was coughing off and on most of the day.... so didn't go to the brown bag lunch with the gals. Not sure what triggered the coughing. Thank goodness no coughing this morning... so far. The good thing was I did get some scrapping done.

@faerywings So glad you found your "missing groceries" and the new bottle of moisturizer in the recycle bin.

@vickyday So sorry that the engine light keeps coming back on... the mechanic is a wonder man that he keeps trying to fix it.

@Cherylndesigns Are you okay??? Miss seeing you posting here in the chat thread.

@taxed4ever So happy that your DH suggested you both go visit the kids... Congrats on his retirement and his wanting to do a bit of traveling.

Need more :coffeedrinker:and get dressed soon. Have a few errands to run - if the cough stays quiet. Then it is time to work on tax paper work. HAGD

Well, the snow came down; we got 8.5". Today we can expect snow showers, sleet, and freezing rain. Delightful, right? But then the forecast for tomorrow is 55° so, heck, I may go biking. Not.

Taxes. Ugh. That's my job in the family. For many years I had to do federal, New York, and New Jersey. Then there was the year we moved and I had to add Virginia to that list. Sheesh. Now at least there's only one state. But there's an issue every year because David worked at a university, which has 403b instead of 401k, being a non-profit. Most states treat 403b like 401k, i.e., not taxable. But NJ taxed it. In Virginia, since we already paid taxes when it was earned, we don't have to pay taxes when it's withdrawn, but it takes a crazy spreadsheet calculation to figure out how much to exclude. We got audited by the state for about 4 years until one kind auditor told me the problem was that Turbo Tax doesn't send the backup forms with the state filing, so I should just file on paper. It's been fine since then. But I did get them irritated at me the year that one option they gave me for proving I was right was sending W2s, so I copied 30 years of David's W2s and sent them; they told me please don't do that again. (Hey, they asked!)

Yesterday I made plane reservations to go out and see the kids in April. The granddaughters have a week off school so we can play with them. I'm thinking of taking them on the train to Vancouver for a couple days. It looks like there's enough to keep them interested, and I love Vancouver.

I was scheduled to take Communion to the assisted living place this afternoon, but the church won't be open so that's not happening. So another empty day on the calendar. I'm going to make this Creamy, Spicy Tomato Beans and Greens for our meatless dinner tonight. Looks good; might make a good Lent supper option for my regular rotation. We'll see.

Glad you are doing better today, Kay! I pray it wasn't a precursor to you getting sick! :praying2:

Good Morning,
Just above freezing here this morning, but at least it is keeping the drizzly rain from turning to ice! So, today is a pj day for me.
I've got my veggie soup cooking in the crock pot for our church dinner tonight. Later on I will make the Mexican cornbread to take and grab the gallon jug of sweet tea to take along for the supper. Then we will have our prayer meeting after we clean up the dinner mess in the fellowship hall. It is a good night of fellowship.

Today I am working on my ATC and will do some misc scrapping. I need to check out the AJ challenge for this month, too. I struggle with those.

HAGD!

Good Morning everyone! It's another very cold morning, but the sun is shining and there is fresh snow on the mountain tops, so pretty! Glad it is up there and not down here! I finally got our flights booked and spent most of the morning on the computer and phone trying to make sure that we were all sitting together. I booked DH and I with our companion flight that he had with his credit card and then booked DD with my More Rewards Points, so they had to be done on separate websites, what a PITA!! After being directed back and forth between West Jet and More Rewards, I finally talked to a nice young man at West Jet and he got it all done for me! Hooray!! Now we hold our breath that the Airline does not go on strike or something stupid like that. My Sister Wendy is coming to have coffee with me this morning, so I am trying to get the house warmed up before she arrives, the kitchen is always so chilly when the temps are so low because of all the big windows I guess. Anyway other than her visit I will work on finishing the gift box that I am working on to put Aunt Betty's birthday card in. It's too thick to put in an envelope :giggle4:. I will take a photo of it and show you all when it is done. I totally forgot to post my layout that I did for a pre-release yesterday, so I need to get that done this morning too.

My hair is blond again and I like the way she did the bangs. I'm going to feel bald next time I wash my hair. I always end up using way too much shampoo that first time as well. How nice to have your hair done and wow!! thats a long time between cuts and colour!! I would be totally grey if I waited that long! Perhaps its time to start thinking about letting my colour go? :hahano:. As long as I can afford to keep colouring it I will, my grey is not a nice grey, its more mousey brownish grey Uggh!! You will have to show us your headshot when they are done. Yes it was fun to just sit and visit and take the wedding dress apart, so much bling on it LOL. We only got the train done and haven't even started on the dress yet, that will take a few more afternoons of picking apart.
We got about two inches of that dreaded 4-letter word last night. I'm with you and so over it all.....
I am with you too, no more white stuff! It can snow on the mountain top, but that's it!!

Yuck! 8.5" of snow!!!! Wow what crappy weather for you today!! Good day to stay inside and keep safe and warm!

Gotta go Heather is calling Have a great day!

Isn't it nice when you can finally find a person who is willing to take the time to actually help out?! They are few and far between these days.....IF you can even get hold of a human!
My Sister Wendy is coming to have coffee with me this morning
I wish my sister lived closer. However, now that I've said that, maybe not! She is pretty opinionated about how she thinks things should be done. I've been known to tell her to shut up when she visits for a week in the summer. Yeah, so maybe once a year is enough! HA! How far does your sister live from you?
Perhaps its time to start thinking about letting my colour go
I was totally tired of messing with it every 4-6 weeks! And the skunk stripe down the middle of my head was certainly not pretty, LOL! Probably wouldn't be as drastic with you. Mine is black and white, not brown and mousey brown!
Sounds like a great night of fellowship with good food too! Enjoy!
Yes, we have (or try to have) this fellowship meal before the mid-week service once a month. It is wonderful!

My sister is about a 10 min drive from me, so we try to get together every week or so. LOL my sister is very opinionated too, but we also have a lot of laughs together! She has a potty mouth though and I have to remind her that its not very lady like, she has had a pretty rough life surrounded by a lot bad language so I guess it is just natural to her, but I love her so much and she is the only one left of my siblings that I do like sadly. :sad2:

Really, for the most part, my sister and I get along marvelously while she is here. We laugh and play games and visit with Ilene. It's only when I begin to do something that she thinks her way is the only way something should be done that gets my goat! I don't have to worry about any bad language from her, so I'm glad about that! If that were the case, I'm afraid I would have to be telling her to shut up more frequently!

Hello my Lovlies,

Sorry I've been quiet. My youngest DD, Stephanie, has been here and I've been a little preoccupied. Kay @BrightEyes thanks for asking about me. Besides that, I had just kind of recovered from my month plus of that awful viral infection that turned into walking pneumonia. Then, Adrienne and I had to get our shingles vax second shot and our "window of opportunity" was about to close. I was hesitant to get it so close to having that awful "whatever I had" and that danged vax completely knocked me off my feet. I had nevef had a reaction like I had to this. Adrienne too - she even had a mild case of the shingles. She was broken out all over her back and chest. We kept saying that it wasn't as bad as the shingles. UGH it was bad and right on the heels of my finally feetind decent from that onslaugh of a virus.

Miss all of you XOXO
