Happy 12-12-12!!!!
Cool date, and one that even I can't get wrong.:D

Not much going on in my world other than work and Christmas prep. I was able to get the chair sanded and primed yesterday so I can start painting soon.
Today I am off to Walmart (UGHUGHUGHUGH!!!!!!) and BJ's. this better be my last trip out to the big stores. I am running out of money and patience. Hmmm. Might not have had to much of either to begin with  Sanity..... nope, never had that at all.

I wish it was June!
I want my house to magically clean itself.
I want/hope/pray that I have money left in my checkbook after I pay bills today (Its social security day!! wheeeee!!!:D)

love and hugs and happy and joy to you!!!

Terry- how are things with your niece? Hope that the court date went the way it is best for all. That poor little one too, how horrible. :(
And jeez- what a fright to wake up to the smoke detector! Not a good start to the day. I truly hope that it got better, or at least a bit easier.

Phyllis- oooh wow!! That chair is awesome! But way way way out of my ability! This chair is going to be white with Mickey mouse ears!
FWIW- I hate b-fast too and can't even imagine not being able to grab a granola bar just to get something in my stomach.

Laurie- good morning! Hope the sun is shining by you.

Linda S- IIRC, peanut butter is a good paring with toast because it slows the breakdown of carbs?
P- have you looked at the glycemic index of foods and see if there are any good carbs that you can try?

Gary has it so much easier in some ways being on a pump. He can eat pretty much what he wants (as long as he isn't throwing up, that is LOL) as long as he boluses in enough insulin.

Trudy!! You are so talented!!!! Wish I had a fraction of that ability! Those bed posts are amazing!!!!
Vit D-- I think that you need to take Vit D with something to help it absorb. Or is it Calcium that you need to take with D? Either way, hope that it helps your get energized again!

Nancy- Did you have sun yesterday too? It looked so nice!!(Of course it also showed off my dust collection at home and finger-printed windows and all but that's ok, I'll take the sun any day!)
I cannot draw a stick figure to save my life- I am using stencils tee-hee!

And I guess I need to be off, and get ready for the day.

love and hugs to all!!

xoxoxoxo!!!!

lOve the O!
Wow it is Wednesday O fam!! I just finished my workout! I have been battling the crud everyone else at work seems to have and have an appt tomorrow on my day off. I don't want to get a full blown huge sinus infection. No fever today, still have a voice, not coughing, just a sore right ear. So off to fix a high protein breakfast and see what the day brings. I do have sun today Chris however it is a chilly one. Can't wait to get home and see what is in the mailbox today!

yeah, but all my choices are based on testing, and the glycemic index isn't always a reliable indicator of what a food does to my readings. bread--any kind of grain, whole or processed--is just murder. i never understood why the Food Police in the '70s used to be SO against white bread. until i got to be diabetic and SAW that, if you eat most white things, (bread, sugar, rice, potatoes, etc.,) you might as well pour a sugar bowl down your throat. it's unbelievable. if' you've got a normally-functioning pancreas, not so much (except that the WORK that your pancreas has to do when you eat stuff like that may eventually kill off all the little pancreas cells whose job it is to process that stuff and you could end up like me....) that being said, the only time it's hard for me is at breakfast, since "fast" breakfasts tend to be carb-loaded. there is a low-carb bread that Pepperidge Farms makes, but it tastes a bit like cardboard when toasted, so i don't go there much.

Laurie, hope you feel better! it is SO hard not to pick up every germ going 'round when you work around kids!

today, i have to tackle the inside of my car. it looks a bit like it belongs to a traveling salesman. i tend to carry around a LOT of emergency stuff, especially in Winter, and it all needs to be consolidated. i got a really good bit of advice from a friend in South Dakota. she said that everyone carries around a pillar candle and matches in a new gallon paint can in SD. light AND some heat, if needed. so, i have one of those in there. also water and dehydrated food and a blanket, wind-up flashlight and radio and a ton of other things. i'm READY for the Zombie Apocalypse!! anyway. i have to tackle all that this morning. then it's some cleaning. (i keep saying i'm GOING to clean here, but then i never do....)

everyone have a lovely day. i hope your trips to the Mall are over for the season. that will make things SO much nicer!

Good morning - I had a sharp-shinned hawk in my backyard yesterday! It was so neat! He was sitting on a branch just outside my back door. I had noticed that all was quiet in the backyard and sure enough there he was. I was afraid that when the neighbors cut down the pine tree he would not come back but he did. This made my day. Got a page done. And the sun is out again.

Trudy your bed posts are so darn cute!

Terry hope all is going well with your niece

Phylis I guess the main thing in just to find somethings you like the taste of and eat those. I am probably weird in that I can eat the same things over and over. I think that drives my sons crazy as they are not so much into eating the same thing.

Have a great day!

good morning! It is cold here!! Nothing like what ya'll are experiencing in the really colc climate but it is cold for South Texas!

Things did not go to well with the niece yesterday. She is really a lost soul and left here and moved in with a friend of hers. She has a big mountain to climb and no one can really help her. It is time for her to help herself. Just ask that you keep her in prayer. I feel like only God can save her now.

My youngest son takes his licensing exam to be a policeman tomorrow morning. Keep him in prayer! Hope he passes, gets a job and gets off my payroll. I'm beginning to wonder why it takes these young people so long to grow up.

It's end of year here for me at work. Lots to do. Meeting the with corporate CPA this afternoon to go over all year end junk. Counting down the days until year end!! Still lots to do and will be traveling next week to meet with all the partners in the group for the annual meeting. The good thing--they are meeting to decide on what kind of bonus I should get. Praying for a good one.

I sure want to spend some time on the computer and get a little scrapping done. Had intended to do a December Daily book---but, well, I never got the first page done. Think I'll just scrap that idea (no pun intended!!) and just have fun scrapping pages. Trying to keep my stress level down!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

always chatty at the O!!
Hello friends!! It's been awhile but I had a few minutes so thought I'd hop in. Life in my world is crazy in general but today is good. I am working in the OR as an x-ray tech and it is not real busy. Everyone is getting ready for Christmas break and really...who wants surgery right before Christmas??

Tonight I am going up to Raleigh to see Dave Matthews...my favorite. I think it may mean I call in sick tomorrow. Hmmmm....we'll see. I do have a ton of sick time so maybe so. It would be nice to sleep in and then get some stuff done getting ready for Christmas. We'll see. I need to make fudge. That's really what I need to do. LOL!!

Okay ladies...enjoy your Wednesday!!

Nancy, i am EXACTLY the same way. i'm just like that with clothes, too. i sometimes buy the same exact thing in three colors...or more! i just hate thinking about stuff like food and clothes.

Terry, i have to say that i'm glad that your neice isn't living at your house. being one step away from troubles like hers always seems to be a good idea. i'll say a prayer for your son's job aspirations. and, you are SOOO right about it taking such a long time for that generation to grow up. i think it has something to do with OUR generation, but i also think that the world is SUCH a frightening, confused and totally messed-up place, particularly with this Global Economy crap that was forced down everyone's throat, that it scares even ME. imagine how a young one feels, looking at that mess! at least your guy is on a career path. my daughter is "off the payroll" here, but her job is such a menial bunch of nothing for someone with her education that i worry a LOT. she seems to be IMMOBILIZED by the horrible job market.

Morning ladies... Wow I slept until after 7am this morning, went to bed around 10:30 so had a GREAT sleep!! Day off today, sadly I did not get any scrapping done yesterday like I had planned to. So many other things to get done. Made a nice pork roast for supper last night too, yummmm!! Today I mail off the last of my parcels and christmas cards. Then I have nothing to do but scrap!!! I hope to get at least a couple of pages done really!!

Chris - uggh Walmart!! Hope its your last trip!!

Laurie - Hoping that you are not getting full blown sick!! My last ear ache was just a build up of wax, got the ears cleaned out at the dr. (so nice) was good to go after that!! Hope that's all it is! No bugs!!!

Nancy - How cool to see that hawk in your tree!! I often see a pair of eagles in the tree just outside my back door. Love them!!

Terry - Sorry that things did not go well with your niece, but sometimes they just have to hit rock bottom before they can climb out of the hole they are in! Sending positive thoughts your way for her to see the light!! Such a stressful thing for your family to go through!!

Clara - you are such a busy mom! Hope that you enjoy your concert! I vote for a sick day, you deserve it!! Fudge sounds like the perfect thing to make! Yummmm!!

Phylis - Sounds like you are ready for the end of the world! So long as you are in your car when it happens!! LOL I live in earthquake country and still don't have an emergency kit set up anywhere. Keep telling myself to do that, but I'm not listening!!! :director: :lalala:

Sally - Thanks for spreading all the gobs of cheer all over us today :becky:

Well gotta get me some breakfast and another cuppa :tea: then its off the post office :mmph: wonder how long the line up will be?? Have a great Hump day everyone!

Trudy, you wouldn't BELIEVE what i have at home, too!! get yourself at least a 72 hour kit together. go to a website in Canada that's like The Ready Store here or Emergency Essentials, and at least buy a few cans of freeze-dried lasagna! it lasts for 25 years on the shelf!
