The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Ugh- I am feeling cruddy today. Need lots and lots of coffee and pain meds, me thinks... good thing I have both "in house." :D

Had a really busy day yesterday. Went to the food store (ugh) then to the lake with Cait and her friend, It was (finally) hot! Back home at 4, showered, made dinner and then we went to a free concert back at the lake. The band was pretty good- classic rock- and the kids ran around.

Today is up in the attic- garage sale prep. Last year the kids made a couple hundred bucks each which they put towards our Coz trip. This year, they get to keep it for the extra stuff they need for school, that I can't afford.
Scott's class goes on a a trip to Wash DC (I am so totally jealous, never been) but it is almost $600. We'll find a way but its a lot of $$. And we are hoping that he allowed to go - if he loses discipline points like last year, he can't go. I'll kill him if he does that, such a great opportunity.

So I am off for more coffee, I'll bring a big pot back for everyone!

Good morning ladies! Chris, hope that the meds kick in! I agree, the trip to DC sounds wonderful. $600 is a lot of money but what a great opportunity!

I've got some zucchini bread to share. Made it last night! Quick gallery run and I'm off to get dressed for work!

Back for personals!
I just love you all- have to say it :)

Oh yuck Sandra- Will is now sick? You are not getting a break, are you. One good thing, is at least it isn't school year yet. Hope everyone starts feeling better and no more germs!

Linda W- thank you so much! There are some days I can totally get why some animals eat their young! I know I gave my parents a really rough time, and I guess I turned out ok.;) I guess they will too. They are nice to everybody except me and each other. sheesh!
But what a great testimony- I can see how close you are to your kids now, so if you felt this way, and came out ok, I bet I can too. xoxoxo

Sara- Congrats on your SIL! Kayaking- that sounds like a lot of fun!! Hope Ben is better today.

Clara- LOL- seems like the weather has flipped coasts again. We are hot and humid, and you are back to being cool. yay! Sounds like you had a great day with friends too. Aren't they the best?

Linda W- Oh no! Poor little squirrels (sorry, the tree-hugger in me had to send sympathy to the dead family first) but yuck! Sorry that you had to deal with that!
My mom has a mama raccoon and babies in her chimney a few years ago. Animal Control couldn't move them until the babies were older, so she had to deal with them being in her chimney for a few weeks. She is not a tree-hugger/animal nut like me, and she was so freaked out. Granted I would have probably found a way to adopt them, but I also realize that ios not the normal response :D

I guess I shouldn't tell you how I think bats are also really cute. Even when they are in my house....;)

Hi Ona!! I really hope I have time this week to do your spotlight! And sugar gliders... too cute! I really need to come visit you!

Andrea- Oh I am thinking awesome and great thoughts for you- I think you;d be an awesome teacher! That is what I would have had my degree in had I stayed in college in PA. Early Child Ed. In NJ, they only have a certificate for Elem Ed so I am certified (certifiable??) PreK-8. But I don't ever think I could handle 8th graders!!

Funny story-- I heard that Scott's Middle School is looking to hire an ISS (in school suspension) teacher. I tought if I could get that, then Scott's behavior would (miraculously) improve. No way would he want ISS with me in there!!!

Andrea-- you are very strong. And you also have 2, soon to be three reasons to be strong. I can relate in some ways, with Gary's illness and all. When he was completely incapacitated, I had no choice but to be strong for the kids if nothing else. But is sucks at the same time, doesn't it? Ii wish I could have the opportunity to fall apart on occasion.
But like I said- you know we are all here for you. Anytime you need to fall apart, you have all of behind you.
Good luck with the cramping. Ligaments stretching and all that- but I remember the worry as well. Sending you hugs and virtual chamomile tea!

And to everyone who come in- xoxoxo!

WWW:
I wish that all of the junk in my attic gets sold b/c I don't want to have to bring any of it back home!
I want Andrea's hubby to be safe and for Andrea to be at peace!
I wish I had a million $$ to visit with all of you IRL!

I will start with personals...I just never made it back the last couple of days.....

Chris....I think it's great you and DH have all those years together...and you still adore him....that's how I am over my DH....ahemmm...most of the time...hehehe!! You are a great mom and from listening to you (reading) you have a great relationship with your children....a lot of mom's don't have that and "think" they do....You will reap those benefits a little later down the road!! I hope that letter to the senator helps with your SSI....and if you need me to write one too....don't hesitate to ask!!! sounds like you were BUSYBUSY yesterday...but it sounds like a good day :) but I am sorry you are feeling so bad today..(((HUGS)))...****telepathing good vibes your way***** DC does sound great!! I am sure he will stay in line!!!

LindaS...You parents are great grandparents!! Letting the Grandson use their brand new car!! LUCKY BOY!! I am not that good of a Nana....MMMMMMM zucchini bread....THANKS!!

Sandra....***sigh*** poor dear....I know you are ready for your children to be well and accident free!! (((HUGS))) how is he this morning???

Sara....thank goodness Ben's bug was QUICK...Did you get all your work done?? and the kayaking sounds like it was so fun....I am jealous!!! I have always wanted to ...but never have!! Hope the"good" SIL has a great pregnancy!!

Clara....your dinner and movie at your friends sounds like fun!!! with your personality...and all the fun places you have lived...you must have so many friends!! Lucky you!! and I am sorry about your problems with DH on the belief issues...this must be really hard....it's never been an issue with us...we both have the same beliefs...but I don't always attend church like I should....right now...I am in a place where I can't seem to land in a church where I feel happy!!

Andrea....You are such a stong person!! I love your attitude of being strong for your kids and not falling apart!! I am not so sure I could be that way....and WOOT WOOT for you going back to school....WOW....you like a full plate.....Always here for you sweetie!!! Hope the cramping is nothing serious...I am sure all is welll....let us know!! (((HUGS)))

Ona....congrats to you on the spotlight!!! I know you are just thrilled to peices!!!

Well...I guess I found out how GIRLIE I am...I didn't consider myself to be that much...but I really freaked out yesterday when that squirrel was staring right at me!!! UPDATE: DH went on the roof and there are just the two of them....the dead one is on the ledge right above the flew....the live one must be dying...he crawled under the towel I put in there and is just staying there...I think they ran down and couldn't get back up....since our chimney is clean...we have gas logs....there is no build up on the firebrick so it's slick...Animal control wouldn't come and take care it..."they only deal with domesticated animals"....GEEZ...so I guess we need to wait for the one to expire (exterminator wants ALL of my body parts to take care of it)...then we will get them out...

I know Chris...you are partial to the critters...but they are mean...and have RABBIES!!! not taking chances here and BATS!!???!!!

(((hugs))) to you all!!

good morning... I'm at home again today... at least for part of it... Will's temp this morning is 101.3, and we're waiting to see if the strep culture came back positive overnight... nurses haven't come in yet, so I have to wait for them to call me... if Gabe can manage it, he'll try to come home and let me go in, but his project went live this week and he really needs to be in the office to manage any problems that arise... so I'm probably just going to be off for the day.. at least we'll get a break on daycare... Will's out yesterday and today, Piper's out Thursday and Friday because she's going to my mom's tonight...

Chris - no I'm not getting a break and its a real PITA!

LindaW - he's okay... other than the temp, freezing, and a headache ;) otherwise you'd never know he's sick LOL

hi LindaS!

Linda good morning!!! and eeeeek!!! Squirrels in the flew! eeeek! I'd have been freaking out! Mostly from the smell LOL. I remember the time we had a coon in the house...and a possum--twice. DH had no choice but to...um...exterminate the possum. We couldn't figure out how these animals were getting in the house...then one night in Winter I let an outside cat sleep inside...until she started meowing to go out. I let her out in the middle of the night, then had to get up and feed my baby boy (this was 22 yrs ago, Lord I'm old!)....and there that darned cat was sleeping in my rocking chair! I couldn't figure out how she was back in...I let her back out thinking I must be crazy and didn't really let her out before. A few minutes later I heard a racket and went to investigate and there she was coming up from under the water heater. There was a hole under it. We fixed that the next day LOL...and no more critters..or cats coming in hahaha.

Linda, I hope you get the critters all out and the smell gone, you poor thing, how did you ever stand the smell?! ewwww ((((hugs))))

Chris-I hope you feel better ((((hugs))))! And I have to say, you are even more of an animal lover than me....bats are creepy, and like Linda said they have rabies! We had a rabid bat caught in the area over the weekend...well I say caught, I'm not sure how they 'caught' him but he did test positive. But, the healthy ones do serve their purpose and eat bugs so I guess they aren't all bad LOL. Let's just hope one doesn't find it's way into my house...if they try I'll tell them to go find Chris instead LOL.

LindaW-I hope today goes better for you! How was Jesse's speech therapy?

Sandra-hope Will gets to feeling better soon. Even if the culture comes back neg it could still be strep. Sometimes they don't get a good swab. I'll send healing thoughts :).

LindaS-yummmmm I love zucchini bread :). thank you!

well, I loooove you all and wish I could stay and chat and play...but my tummy's growling (started feeling better yesterday) and I'm gonna go get some fast food LOL.
I'll check in this evening! ((((hugs))))

Dawn....You have the darnest life stories!! I love reading them!!! LMBO about that cat....I would have thought I was losing my marbles!!! thank goodness for the cat...helped you keep out the "unwanteds".....so far so good on the odor this morning....

Chris...would you have fixed the hole??? or just let them in??? HEHEHE...you have such a big heart!!!

Dawn...they only assessed Jesse yesterday....she doesn't know anything yet....

You guys are so great!! Thanks to you all. Seriously, I've only been coming here and doing the dailies for a couple of months, and I really feel like I've made some friends! (((((HUGS)))))

I've been up for a few hours and filling out forms. I am elligible for the post 9/11 GI Bill for serving for 1 1/2 years in the Army (I should never have been in, I was a single parent. But at least I met my husband, so it's all good). Plus I can get some benefits for being a spouse of a soldier, and then the rest of the tuition will be covered by grants and loans. Hopefully, very light on the loans. LOL. The trick is in getting everything to work together. Also, I have no idea why I allowed Mr. Wonderful to be in charge of filing all of our important family documents. Good Gravy. We can't find anything, and he has to go to HR Block to pay $20 for a duplicate of our 2008 tax documents before I do any more financial aid applications. Whatever, I'm cross-eyed anyway. Need a break. Gonna head over to the gallery and do some commenting (I'm so bad at this, shame on me!!) and hopefully do some scrapping! YAY!

LindaW- you go, be as girly as you wanna be! Nothing wrong with that. Good thing you have a fella around to take care of things like that. I like to think that I wouldn't be worried about the alive babies, but the dead ones???? GAH. Even if I wasn't pregnant, that smell does NOT agree with me. Here's to a nice CALM, RELAXING day for you today. Chamomile tea all around!

Chris-speaking of chamomile, I've always been a big fan of it. But my SIL told me when we were in Pennsylvania that apparently it causes contractions and should be avoided during pregnancy????? Well that's news to me and my three kids. I'm a huge herbals person, and have drunk gallons of the stuff during all of my pregnancies. Now, of course, I'm totally paraniod. *sigh* Oh well.
Also, I hope you are feeling better after your pain meds and caffeine infusion. Maybe the sun will shine brightly and you will just feel much better soon! Here's hoping!
I like bats too. :-) I just think they're cool. I used to love watching them at twilight when I lived in Arizona.
I can't begin to imagine what it would be like living with an incapacitated spouse. Of course, mine THINKS he's incapacitated each time he gets the slightest bug. LOL But actually, that's kind of a nightmare of mine. That he'll come home from overseas with some kind of debilitating illness or injury that changes who he is, or how he functions. I feel like I would have a lot of trouble with that, because the man I love would be changed, and I worry that my feelings of love would turn into pity or obligation. So see, we all are strong in our own ways. I think life does that to you. You have to adapt and develop "mental caluses" to survive. Or maybe thinking of it as developing our glossy pearlescent coatings against irritation is a better way to think of it. :-)

Clara-I'll pray for your Mr. Wonderful to get over himself and just let you be at peace. It's not like you are hurting anybody. I'm on your side, sister!! LOL.

Dawn- that is too funny about the hole you used to have under your water heater! I just get these visuals of all kinds of woodland creatures just hanging out in your house, "Good morning, Ma'am, just passing through." LOL I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time! When I lived in Portland we used to have a possum under the porch who was friends with our household cats. That was weird. Usually the are kind of nasty in my experience. I don't envy your husband having to "exterminate" one. Yuck. I mean, I eat meat and all, but I don't know if I could bring myself to kill an animal. I can barely step on a palmetto bug because they are "too big to kill"

Sandra- here's to a swift recovery for Will. Dont' you hate that, when something just sweeps through your home and takes everyone one by one? Hopefully it will be over soon!!

Linda S- MMMMMMM zucchini bread! I have a couple of zucchinis that somebody gave me that are too big to slice up and sautee, maybe I should put some zucchini bread of my own in the oven! So what do you think, chocolate chips or no chocolate chips?

Okay, I need to get my stinky self up to the shower, then it's gallery time for me!

Good morning!!

DH was gone last night doing a stupid military duty. He had to sit at a desk all night in the barracks. Very lame. Usually, when he's gone I unintentionally stay up really late watching tv or whatever, but I went to bed at a decent time. So, this morning I am feeling pretty good. I've been trying hard to halt my morning coffee from the coffee shop so getting good sleep helps that. Then I don't think I NEED it.

This morning I had to get Addie ready (usually dh gets her ready because they have to get up 1.5 hours before me). I went to get her and found her sleeping right in front of her door covered with a blanket and no clothes on. I guess she peed in her bed and stripped down and slept on the floor. She has been so good with potty training but has peed in her bed the past two nights. I don't know what's up with that. Since Ethan has been off traveling her potty training has declined a little bit. We don't have to put her in diapers or anything, but it isn't as good as it was. Hopefully, once he's home and school starts everything will work better.

So, tonight is week 2 of Dave Ramsey. I think we will be learning the actual process to get our debt paid off. I'm pretty excited about that. I have already been told kind of how it works, but it will be nice to hear about it. I am so excited to have a plan to have our debt paid off. My goal is to pay off my credit cards, car and student loans in 3 years. I have always had debt. I can't even imagine life without it...not to mention how much extra money we will have each month and how much more we would be able to pay on our house (I don't really count that in my debt). I am totally stoked. Did I tell you guys that I got out of paying for luggage at the airport?? I had just taken all of my cards out of my wallet. All of them. I had zero money in my wallet. I had left just enough money in the car for parking. So, I got to the counter and they wanted $15 for Ethan's bag and I had nothing. So they waived it as a "courtesy." That was awesome. I started calming down about all of it at that point knowing that life is good and people are good and everything will work itself out. I think all of this will work out great because dh is really on board with it. That will make all the difference in the world I think.

Chris - I am sorry you are feeling cruddy today. I hope the caffeine and pain meds help. Have you ever tried acupuncture? I wonder if it would help. Maybe you can trade some of your products for some treatments?? That was random. I do hope you start feeling better though. Good luck at your garage sale. We have to do the big Goodwill run tonight for all of the rest of our stuff. It is time for it all to be out of our garage. Yay!! Oh, and I love bats too. When we lived in Italy they had a ton of bats and we would sit in the town square wherever we were at and just watch them flying around all of the old buildings. I found it peaceful. Weird maybe, but peaceful. I hope Scott is goo this year too. I got to go on a couple of trips for school with my choir and it was so awesome. I loved it. We went to Florida, which was cool, but we also got to go to Quebec which was really really cool. I never would have gone there otherwise. I've been to DC and it is soooo cool. I would love to go again sometime.

LindaS - Thanks for the zucchini bread. Yummmy!! Have a great day at work.

LindaW - I don't think it is girlie to want critters out of your house. I had a mouse in my closet and it freaked me out. My cat killed it and I was not even a little bit sad about that. Especially when I eventually found out that it had come from my closet where I kept all of my craft stuff and I had to clean it all out. As I cleaned I found out how they got in...and it turns out when dh went down into the crawlspace to run some wire he didn't get the floor entry completely sealed, so they crawled in. It was icky!! Mouse poo and pee everywhere.

Sandra - Poor Will. Hopefully this will be the end of it and you'll have no more sickies or injured little one. I am so thankful that you have a flexible job. Hopefully very soon everything will be on track.

Dawn - that story is hilarious. What a strange place for animals to find to crawl in. I hope you ate something yummy for breakfast.

Andrea - That is really awesome that you are going to be taking classes while dh is gone. It will help give you your own purpose, especially while he's gone. You'll get to be Andrea while you are taking classes instead of just Mommy 24/7. Do you know if you can get any coverage from the GI Bill yet? They keep talking about changing it so that spouses and children can use it but I haven't heard if the changes have actually been made yet. I hope you don't have to get too many loans, although the loans aren't too horrible.

Well, I am off. I will chat with you guys soon. Ciao.!!

Good evening lovely-Os!

I was thinking all day that y'all probably think DH and I are awful about the extermination of the possum! Well, the thing was coming at DH, hissing and growling, baring its teeth...ugh we were worried about rabies.

Nowadays we live with mice, yuck, we live way back off of the road, surrounded by woods in what used to be a field. We have a cat outside and multiple tomcats come around here to look for food...and we have Sassy inside but still have mice. Sassy will stalk them and if she happens to catch one she'll torture it by sitting on it, batting at it, etc. The one time she tried to, ugh, eat one she ended up bleeding from her hiney...apparently the mouse had eaten poison which is basically blood thinner...I didn't have poison but my MIL who lived 400 yards away did. Sassy had to have a vitamin K shot to thicken her blood back up some. My MIL was a clean freak but she had a worse mouse problem than we do now and it's pretty bad. I'm thinking it's because of the bad ice storm we had last Winter...I just can't stand finding droppings in my cabinets and drawers, yuck. I can't stand glue traps, they're mean, I have tried the 'humane' no kill ones and somehow the mice always manage to get out. I hate to say it but we just have to use the old fashioned ones that actually work. I can't set them cause I'm too scared of getting my fingers broken but DH or our son does it.

Anyhow, that's my mouse story LOL.

some personals :)

Clara-perhaps Addie misses Ethan and that's what is going on? Hmm...
Oh and yes, I had a bacon-egg-cheese biscuit for breakfast...I soooo did not need it but it was good. It's awesome about your plan to be debt-free! You can do it!

Andrea-that's sooo cute that your cats were friends with a possum! Mine is semi-friendly with my rabbit LOL.

LindaW-How's my friend today? LOL about you liking my stories...if you only knew! I keep most of them to myself because some of them are so off-the-wall, I've had an interesting life so far, that's for sure :). Keep us up-to-date with Jesse!

Sandra-I hope Will is feeling better. Be sure and get plenty of rest, don't want you getting sick!

LindaS-Hi there!

Well, I'm off to do some scrapping, I've let myself get behind lately :(.

Just a quick drive by........Dawn, just had to tell you! we have a fox terrier and he is the BEST mouse catcher, better than a cat!! he can smell them a mile off and when he finds one he will just sit and stare and whine at us to come and help him, this might mean that we have to move something like a box or whatever. during winter we get mice coming in and hiding under our gas fridge.......Chewie just goes bonkers so poor DH has to tilt the fridge and/or use a thin piece of wire to shove under the fridge to move it around so it frightens the mouse out!! Chewie is just so quick! the mice just don't stand a chance!! lol!! AND after he kills them and we tell him what a good boy he is he will even take it outside for us!! lol! we also use a plastic mouse catcher, its a long rectangle box, one end tilts up slighty, with a 'door' at the end.......you put something in there to entice them, and when the mouse runs in the weight of it tilts the box down which makes the door shut. In the morning DH takes it outside and lets it go and Chewie kills it. First thing in the morning now when Chewie comes in, he goes straight to the mouse catcher and if there is something there he just sits and whines and carry's on!! lol! Wanna borrow him?? :) Sorry Chris :) I don't like mice!!!! yuk!!

LOL, Ona! Chewie sounds like my kind of dog :). That's too cool!

Gotta tell y'all what my Sassy-cat did last night. She's been sleeping in DH's room in a corner at night...DH has bad sleep apnea, untreated :(. When he 'sleeps' (I can't imagine he gets any rest) it's the most awful noises and constant movements, except for when he isn't breathing. Well, last night must have been really bad. He says he was sound asleep...which for him means he was probably either snoring, or sputtering, or muttering some gibberish, or sitting up or who knows what....anyway, he says that Sassy rubbed up against his head and meowed until he woke up to pet her. I wonder if she was just being the diva cat that she is or if she was worried about him...it could be either, I know when I'm sick she takes good care of me :). Of course, he obliged her and petted her until he was out again LOL. She has him trained pretty well bwwwaaahhahahaha.

Oh frick. I had a whole post and closed out accidentally. Oh well.
