After all of that banana bread talk yesterday, can you see why I am going to have a hard time losing a couple of pounds before June? hahaha. :D:D:D
I am going to have to step up my exercise game (what exercise??) if I am going to keep eating and cooking. Last night I cooked such a good dinner- homemade Italian bread in the crockpot (yes, in the crockpot!) and capellini with creamy broccoli pesto. I could have gone back for seconds and thirds but I didn't. I knew I wanted banana bread for dessert

Most of my day was spent working on the invites for Caitlyn. I had a "draft" version done already with plans on getting them printed as 4x6 photos (much cheaper than invites, esp with coupon codes) at Walgreens. She nixed that idea -- no one in her generation would do that, apparently not even using email. We created the invite at Paperlesspost.com and sent most of them out by text. She wanted to include some bats so I used Palvinka's Happy Haunting Overlays and blended them in. My friend from across the street (her DD is the one that is the same age as Cait and grew up together like sisters) called to tell me how proud she is and loved the MSW after her name. Guess who made sure that was included? *wink* She and her DD were trying to see if there was some cheap flight from FL so she could come. My goodness, I wish she could, I miss that girl <3

So between cooking and party planning, I was busy most of the day, I had on my list a bunch of cards that I need to make before May 1. I didn't get to them but they are back on the list for today. I was supposed to clean for my friend but her DD is in quarantine. I was thinking it should be ok if I cleaned but then realized with *everything* coming up in the next few weeks, it is smarter to be safe than sorry. Anyone have a spare Hazmat suit I can borrow until the 4th of July?
th

have a fabulous day!!

@tanteva thanks for asking about the banana bread yesterday. As you can tell it is is something I could talk about forever. (Faery needs to get a life LOL)

@bcgal00 That video was soooooo cute, I LOVE the way Remi pounces on her toy. She is so darn pretty!!

@taxed4ever OH WOW!! Your cards are just amazing, I love all of them but the faeries are just -- wow. The paint and splatters-- just so pretty.
yes, the house apparently smelled like banana bread- when Scott came home from work, the first thing he did was ask if it was what he smelled, and then grabbed a muffin and ate it in like three bites.

Speaking of Scott- he had his first "strange" work incident and ended up in the background of a news clip on TV LOL!
Several injured after recycling truck careens down steep street in NJ Several people were injured after a recycling truck careened down a steep street in New Jersey, and witnesses say it's a miracle no one was killed.
He is at 1:50 in the clip -- last year one of his first weeks on the job, he had to help a young girl who broke her leg in a softball game. This time he is working with local police/fire when a garbage truck almost flipped. Gary had seen the news headline and wondered if Scott was at the park when it happened, when get got home, he told us all about it. Sounds very scary!

@Cherylndesigns That is too bad about your stomach not liking bananas. Is it the same if they are cooked?
I saw on FB IIRC a meme that it should be illegal to work more hours in the day than you slept the night before. Not that I "work" but it sounds like a decent deal to me. Hope that your sleep gets better
Ahhhhhh!!! I would be flipping out watching my kids fly a plane! How did he do, had a blast? Good pictures?? Tell us now that I know he is safe on the ground!

Hugs to you all

Morning ladies... The sun shining but it is so cold out again!! Only plus 3 celsius brrrrr!!! It would have been a very chilly hike today if I were going  . Oh well it will be nice to get my hair done instead! I actually got a layout finished yesterday, but forgot to post the darn thing LOL. Guess I will have to get that done right away this morning. Heather txt me yesterday and asked if we still had her music stand, from way back when she played the flute and piano. (she was a very talented flutist!). I knew exactly where it was in the crawl space. She wants me to send it out so that Mason can set it up with his drum set. So that was my project to get done yesterday. I also got a T-shirt done for both boys so will send those out to them today.

@faerywings - Love your invitation for Cait's Graduation! Great job! It is beautiful! The use of all the different fonts really makes it attractive! Watched the video clip with Scott in it! Wow what a fright that must have been for those garbage workers!! It really is a miracle that no one was killed! How cool to see your son in the news though! Sounds like your list is helping you stay focused on the things! You certainly will be one busy lady in the days ahead! It will be such a happy time, for you all to have the grad ceremony for Caitlyn!! Thanks for your nice comments on my cards!

@Cherylndesigns - Thats too bad that bananas bother your tummy, its not the fruit for me, its the grains!! I would be in agony all day long if I had the grains :(! How exciting to see Braden on his first solo flight! Our son always wanted to learn to fly, but instead got hooked on Sailing, he is a great skipper!! Too funny that you are like the paparazzi !! I can't wait to see the photos!

@tanteva - Hope you get enough banana soon to try the bread recipe, I think you will love it!

Ok time for my second cup and then need to empty the dishwasher and get this parcel ready to ship today. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good morning ladies. Since the weather has started to warm up a lot, we have been spending a lot of time out on the porch drinking coffee and watching/photographing the sparrows (house and white headed variety and one american goldfinch). Darrell put up a birdhouse that his father had built, it sat in our garage for 25 years, and now it is attached to our fence. Within an hour a sparrow claimed it and has been in and out of it. It'll be fun if we get to see babies. Our BBQ finally was delivered and next week will get put together. Next wkend, D can have a BBQ steak finally. I'll take the dogs to the dog park later. I won't be letting them off-leash at the end of the street in the grasslands b/c a few days ago a cougar was spotted roaming the area.

Today will be unpacking, groceries and a bit of scrapping.

@faerywings Love the invite!

I need to hop in the shower and get on with my day.

Hello my lovelies,

Another late start - it's finally warm and the wind died way down yesterday. Braden didn't get to solo yesterday but we still had a great time. Took us 45 minutes to get to the airfield, and the owner of the plane wasn't there and he wants to go up with B at least one time before he solos. I can't blame him - he IS the owner. However, we were disappointed after going all the way over there. The airport was so small and they let Ava and me take a golf cart out to the very edge of the runway and we took lots of pictures of B taking off and landing - over and over. LOL It was fun to hear his voice coming over the tower, too. One of the times he was coming in for a landing, 2 other small planes asked if they could go ahead so that gave him extra practice.

I guess he'll solo in a week or so - that works out for Adrienne and Roger, who are both out of town. They'll get to watch him. His gf went us and she got to go up with B and the instructor. I think she was kind of sick when they got done, but she hung in there. She was real quiet on the ride home. I got priority seating because I'm The Cici - J/K - I have terrible motion sickness so I always ride in the front seat. The roads around here are twisty and turny and we were in B's big truck with the big tires so it was a rough road. I was a little sick last night - which is typical after riding that far in a rough vehicle. I totally forgot to take my Mecklazine later in the evening - that's the cardinal rule - one last dose and I started feeling sick and realized I forgot. I took my Nikon and haven't gotten the pictures off yet.

Oh I didn't mean to go on and on. LOL Chris @faerywings LOVE the invitation!! That black bg with the white lettering is awesome!!

Been working today & I'm so tired. But happy in a silly way: stopped at a grocery store on our way from work. We usually don't shop there. And can you believe it?!! They had proper British cookies/bisquits. McVities HobNobs AND Walkers Shortbread. I mean: how can this make me so happy???! LOL

I'm gonna make me a cup of tea now, have me some shortbread + HobNobs & watch an episode of Stranger Things before I go to bed. Tomorrow it's a day of decluttering. (And eating more cookies.)

Here I am late in the afternoon... had some errands to run this morning. I was thinking about getting my hair cut but went into sticker shock - the price has almost double in the last 2 months!!! Thinking that maybe I will just let it grow for awhile. I can trim my own bangs. LOL

Went to the Senior Citizen Center and pick up a few books to read then over to the Book/DVD store and came home with a Kay Hooper book I didn't have plus 6 DVDs. "Forever Young" is a DVD I had been looking for (have it on VSH tape but wanted the DVD). I like the DVDs as most have closed captioning so I don't have to have the sound way up. Stopped at Target but they didn't have a wood shelf unit that would fit into the TV console space for my books. Finally home with the sky filled with dark clouds and heard some thunder rumbling in the distance. Think it will all blow over with little or no rain here.

Chris, watched the truck incident but couldn't pick out where Scott was in it. So glad he wasn't too near it when it careened into the park!!

Cheryl, sorry he didn't get to solo while you all were there - but sounds like he got some extra practice in touch'n'go. So sorry that you got motion sickness from the ride back home.

Eva, had to LOL over your excitement over the cookies!!! Enjoy them!!! I just had a couple of shortbread cookies to tide me over until it is late enough for supper. I had a donut right before I ran my errands and got home too late to have lunch. Going to fix a bacon and cheese sandwich for supper with some fresh grapes... and may indulge with a handful of chips.

Bea, sounds like you will be getting most of the unpacking done soon. Know you will be glad when it is finished. WOW... don't blame you for keeping the dogs on a leash with a cougar around somewhere. We have a few bears, coyotes, and bobcats that come down into the housing in the foothills especially when it is dry like it has been. They are looking for water. Had a couple of reports already this month.

Trudy, just as well you stayed home from the hike with the weather like that. Good luck on digging out the music stand.

Hearing a few more thunder rumblings so closing out... just in case.

mM1.jpgmM2.jpg

Trudy, so Mason is a drummer, that's so cool :D! Which bands kids likes these days?

Rae, congratulations for the new house, wish you lots of happiness there! Will be lovely if you have a tenant at the birdhouse, knowing you from this will come stunning photos!

OMG, Cheryl, your family always make the most craziest but coolest things!

Eva, everybody will be happy with such a good storage of sugar, pure dopamine. Oh, I still watching this decluttering expert that you was share with us, the blond lady.

Kay, it's awesome to be able to find your favorite movie on DVD.

Spring here is unusual cold, but beside that it's just lovely. I'm isolated myself in very tiny emotional bubble, trying to not allow any kind of bad news to comes to my ears. And practicing only things that brings me excitement, because according to the modern psychology excitement is what gives you the solid state of happiness, not the abundance and achievements.
It's work for now, and for the good of my mental health I really need this recharging after all the tragedies at our extended family and friends crew and the world in general!
I'm booked the July as a month for get back to some scraping, but will see!
Hugs and kisses, I miss you all!
