helllloooooOOOO O-Zies!
Good morning from a sunny but freezing morning in NJ! It could be worse-- I could be in Caitlyn's shoes. She is at a Conference in Buffalo, NY. She sent me some pics from Niagara Falls yesterday and it/she looked *cold.*
It was another long day sitting on my butt which is no longer a pancake butt. I think I have gained a ton of weight since all I do is sit and eat, eat and sit. The silver lining, AKA head in the sand, is that I can't step on a scale just yet.
I stared out my window, looking for the woodpecker again, but there was no sign of it. However, Gary and I watched a group of turkeys walk from across the street, through my front yard, and then into the woods behind us. We counted 9 of them and our uneducated guess was that there were 7 females and 2 males. Our guesses were based on the iridescent colors of the male feathers and the size and drabness of the females. After I post this, I'm going to pop over to Cornell Lab and see if we had it right.
My plans for today are the same as yesterday. I am going to make up an outline for Lauren who is leading the HS Field trip on Friday, as well as work on the following two trips that I'll be leading. Next Thurs is field trip training for the spring season and I'll be instructing the section on Stream Study. Gotta review my info on the macroinvertabrates. So exciting!! I hope the stream has a decent amount of water, I was so sad when it dried up last summer. We didn't get all that much snow this winter again (It's not a good thing, Faery!)
I also want to carve out some time to work on a challenge or two here. I only did three March challenges, -- also all 4 AJ ones-- but I should do some now before I get busier outside (soon!!!!)
HAGD!

But I am seeing some signs of spring and new growth so I should focus on that instead of the whiplash temps. My house stays colder than outside, so I am always freezing and layered up no matter what the temps are.
Hope you had a wonderful dinner with your DH after your busy day.
It was so bad that it blew my patio swing backward, tipped it over and the swing came loose from the frame. Plus 3 of my patio chairs were tipped up against the patio table. Not sure how high the winds were but they howled all afternoon and were still howling when I fell asleep at 9PM. There was a dust storm most of the afternoon and they were warning people to stay inside and not drive. Temp was down to 27*F this morning with a high of only 49*-50* for the next several days. Brrrr... it is like we stepped back into winter!!! I need to get moving soon. Have to get some groceries before DD#1 and her hubby get here tomorrow morning. Hoping the winds are calmer for the rest of the week. I will have Son-in-law#1 help me get the swing and frame put back to together.... if the winds are calmer. OR.... may have him help me move the swing seat up into the more protected corner of patio by the outside bedroom door and put the frame over the bottom of the patio chairs frames to hold them down. Forecast for April is more high winds... so...
congratulations! That's a great honor you totally deserve. She left a comment on one of my layouts last week & I practically peed my pants.
