Happy, happy April!
Good news, I am in a much better mood today than I was yesterday at this time. Whew and yay! Absolutely no reason why my mood shifted but I will take it.
What did I do yesterday?
I picked my jaw off the floor after my brother casually slipped into our conversation that my nephew has a GF! Her name is Amanda and they have been "going out" -- in whatever form kids these days do- for a month. Jeez!! He is going to be 14 in May so it shouldn't be a shock. OTOH, the fact that he is gonna be 14 in May-- also a shock! :D

I did a little scrapping, a little nature research -- ephemerals and vernal pools-- I much prefer being outside exploring than trying to learn the info online but it is what it is.
I stared at my bird feeder for way too long. The red-bellied woodpecker showed up again in the camera and I *really* wanted to see them in person. Scott and I shared some videos and photos of birds throughout the day too. We crack ourselves up over how we did a 180* on birds.

Today is more of the same. As long as I don't do anything stupid (who me?? Never!), I should be back at work two weeks from today!

Hoping everyone has a wonderful day!

Sorry I'm not up to doing personals right now... I know you all understand why. Thanks for all the caring and love you have sent to my family and me. :grouphugyay:
We understand, and I know I can speak for everyone that you take all of the time you need to care for yourself and your family. We will continue to send love, thoughts, prayers, and whatever else you need. :grouphugyay:

I had a restful weekend. Weather was nice and we got out for a bike ride yesterday. The peach orchards are in bloom and just acres of pink right below the mountains. Gorgeous. Plus all the flowering cherries and such (and invasive Bradford pears, boo hiss) are in bloom everywhere. I took a nice picture of an artist painting in the orchard; I hope I can use it for one of the challenges in April. It felt good to get a good 20 mile ride in.
That sounds phenomenal! The ride must have been amazing, and I bet you felt so much better, body and mind ♥
That stinks about the train-to-bus ride switch. *fingers crossed that the train route comes back on the schedule*
Eeep. How was the Coscto run?

It was a wonderful ride! Not long, but long enough!
That sounds so nice :)
It is cloudy out and we are supposed to have thunderstorms.
Did you get the same storm system that we did? They rolled through about 8 pm and lasted 2 hours. Non-stop (literally one after the other) thunder and lightning. I heard the sump pump running in the basement.
:woohoo: about the engine light!

Chris, it's not complaining, it's expressing yourself and life at the moment.... So keep on, better here then yelling at others, like your Dad...:cool::beatingheart: @faerywings
Thank you so much! Would you believe that I am always concerned that I am complaining too much because a friend told me I complained too much when we were in high school. (Some friend, eh? LOL)

Well today is DH's last day at work and I have no more lunches to make :yesss: :bouncing::dancingbfly::dancing6:. No more waking up to the alarm going off at 5:30am :alarmclock:
time to celebrate!!!! Congrats on no more lunches!!!! Linda's birthday sounds awesome!

I wonder what FIL will say or not say when he goes for his drivers medical this month?
I wouldn't take that bet, nope! My dad is only driving around town at this point and has been talking more often about giving up driving. It has to be such a hard thing to contemplate.
I hate, all caps size 100 font bold letter HATE family secrets when it comes to medical. I am sorry your brother will do this pattern with you but I feel the pain. I've had too much medical secrets in my life and it make me angry! Let your brother call me, I. will help him spin up about medical secrets :giggle4:
((((((((hugs)))))))))) I can't imagine how angry that makes you. One good thing is that my brother and I are on the same page. The bad part is that when he gets mad at my parents, he yells at *me* so I am like-- Dude!! I KNOW! hehe.
Its okay to vent. Look at the volcanos, they blow then they just sit peacefully afterwards. Sometimes ya gotta steam and let it out so you dont explode.
Oh, that is an awesome metaphor! *tucks it into my back pocket for future reference*
Today is Monday so will be cleaning house today. Since tomorrow is the 1st I will do the First Monday of Month cleaning. Under fridge, under couch, etc. That way I will be free tomorrow to look at challenges and AJ and see what I can create.
Ummmm-- I sure as heck hope you paced yourself! Feet up as soon as you got tired??

ITA--@MariJ beautiufl siggie!!!

@scrapinmom I don't get it, they think they are protecting us or something, but the health secrets always bite everyone inthe butt.
How is your back feeling, any better?

Good morning ladies. I am popping in to say hi before I get started on some more designs before we head out this afternoon for errands and dog walking. I'm connecting with other jewelry designers on IG and it is fun to chat and see all their gorgeous designs. I get so many good ideas from them.
That is fantastic
A good telus tech came out on the wkend, he was awesome and got everything replaced and working. He gave us his card and said to call anytime we have questions or need him to pop over. I had him pick out a few bracelets to give to his wife. He was thrilled to be going home with a gift for her.
You are just the nicest person! I hope that she spreads the word about you ♥
Monday greetings from NH. Let's face it. Every time I say I'll be here more, another quarter goes by. But, I'm back! Maybe for a little longer this time I finally have a much needed week off. I won't bore you with the work details but it's been a very long fifteen months.
Sorry to hear that work has been a b**** but I hope you have a fab week off and get a lot of scrap time in. How is the weather by you? Decent enough to sit outside?

@BoatLady :waving1 Hiiii!!
Had a follow-up at the doc this morning . I forgot about my blood draw on Friday and saw the reminder after my 2 hour workout, so dehydrated, and it messed with my numbers, which I told the lab tech, and she said "don't worry. " Well, when you're there for sodium level check & you can see it all on the top of your hand. I have been trying to up my sodium, but there it went. I also had them X-ray my right hip.
Famous last words: Don't worry. Ha! :rolleyes1:
I hope that you're feeling better today or at least you get the x-ray results you are hoping for!

:hug4:

Thank you so much! Would you believe that I am always concerned that I am complaining too much because a friend told me I complained too much when we were in high school. (Some friend, eh? LOL)
Yeah, wow some friend indeed! I do believe because I know and understand what you mean. While I'll listen to anyone for considerable time(s), I'm always afraid of being dubbed a complainer and/or "bothering" others. I get you for sure...
And, honestly - I've been in your shoes, it's not a fun place.
You try to take care of yourself, as best you can, ok? And that includes letting off steam here. :heartpumppink:

We had a downpour that lasted a good bit around that same time....not much thunder and lightning, however. Just a hard rain! We needed the rain! The ground soaked it right up.....the sump pump didn't even kick on!

AMEN about the car! Thank You, Lord! Mark went there to pay the bill. He hadn't figured it up yet. He is only going to charge us for the parts. But Mark will pay him more for his time. The guy is a great mechanic and he was worried he wasn't going to be able to figure out the problem....a wire that had water damage in a place where it shouldn't have gotten wet! Weird!

Good Morning,
Getting ready to head to spend the day with Ilene. I want to go to Ollie's and look for new deck chair cushions. The birds and the weather have done ours in! I will check at Big Lots, too, if they are even still open!

Got the laundry done yesterday so Mark is set for the week! I'll check out the new challenges later today and start thinking seriously about the new AJ challenges for the month. Mine will be the 3rd one in rotation.

Have a great day! :hug4::sunnyeyes:

We had our few days of warm weather, but now it's back to 50s and 60s so I closed the windows and turned the heat back on. But it is only the first day of April so of course I need to expect a few more weeks of up and down temps. Forecast is for the 80s by Thursday. The message: whatever it is, don't get used to it!

I looked over the April challenges and love them. I found last month's to be hard for me -- not really my preferred style/topics. But I already have ideas about most of April's. I really enjoy doing the challenges, they make sure I don't just do the same pages over and over.

I should be back at work two weeks from today!
I know this will feel so good for you! Be wise and treat yourself gently, it will come!

That stinks about the train-to-bus ride switch. *fingers crossed that the train route comes back on the schedule*
Just a few hours after I wrote that, and had started working on changing my attitude, I got a notification that the train service will be restored this week on the route we have tickets for!!! I'm so happy. I do tend to get a picture in my mind of how things "should" be and I have to really talk myself into believing anything different will be just fine. But it seems that this time I don't have to.

I want to go to Ollie's and look for new deck chair cushions. The birds and the weather have done ours in!
I thought we were so smart when we moved into this house, and I put our cushions in a Rubbermaid chest on the deck, confident that would keep them clean and ready to use whenever we wanted. It was maybe 2 or 3 weeks later that I opened it up to find that mice had nested in the cushions and ruined them all! I guess that chest wasn't as secure as I thought. Now we keep them in the garage, but we put 2 on a hook by the family room door so when we just want to go out and sit ourselves we can grab them. It's not a look for a decorator magazine but it is convenient.

I bought my mom a new Fire tablet because when I was visiting I found hers had no more space on it, and it was the last day I was there, so all I could do was archive a few things, which didn't solve the problem. So I had a new sent to my house so I can set it all up for her. Now I have to mail it to Florida, and because it has a lithium battery in it I have to be careful about packing it. So there's my project for this morning, assuming I can get myself moving.........

Good news... Son-in-law#3 was dismissed from the hospital yesterday afternoon. DD#3 is busy setting up appointments with a couple of specialists and primary care. She plans on coming down when DD#1 is here... probably on Friday so we can be together during the time of Max's funeral. Leslie has shared the plans for the service. I am so proud of her as she is honoring Max, their love and marriage, and their years together.

Good Morning Ladies.
Quick in and out. not that I have much planned, just tired. Had a "freezing hot" night last night. I was shivering then sweating all night. Didn't feel photoflash felt more like when you have a fever and your hot and yet freezing and yet I am perfectly fine. Not sick wasn't a fever but that is the best way to describe it. Didn't sleep well or much because of it.

I did not get everything done yesterday, cleaning house. I did sit for a couple hours in the sun on my deck.
@BrightEyes so glad to see your SIL was released from hospital. Thats such wonderful news.

Off to get the pot of coffee. Have a great day.

Morning ladies! A beautiful sunny morning here. DH has plans to wash the car, cut the grass and clean the downstairs front porch. So he will be busy today, what will I do? Hmmm, not sure, most likely go for a walk and get coupons sent out to the March Challenge winners etc. I think that we are also going to go down to SIL Linda's to put the kaya arm back on the dock down at the lake so we can get out in the kayaks again. I am looking forward to going out for a paddle soon! Yesterday my Gary got home around at 2:30 with all his belongings from work. It was a bittersweet day for him and some of his Co-workers cried when he said good-bye to them. At around 4pm the In-Laws called and told us to pop over to celebrate with a glass of wine. Both of Gary's sisters were there also and then we ordered supper from a local stir fry place. It was a nice way to say Happy Retirement to my DH!! So now we try to settle into the rest of our lives together without driving each other crazy, but there is no one I would rather be on this wild ride with! I am sorry I won't be doing personals this morning, but perhaps a bit later on today. Heather is calling and DH wants some eggs for his breakfast. :waving1

@faerywings the weather here is up and down. One day sixty the next thirty. Mother Nature is all over the place. She needs to get back on her meds. LOL Today was sunny but windy. Tomorrow I'm taking my granddaughter to take her drivers test. Not sure where the baby went. I hope today has been a better day for you. Thinking of you and your family. Especially your dad.

Happy April Fool's Day...no pranks here yet.
Yesterday we did more clean up from the Spring Tea . all the set are washed and put away. Then they came to fix the A/C turned out to be an inexpensive repair $350 instead of the $3000 I was worried about...Yes happy O-lady here. I did some afternoon reading then made dinner.
Released 3 more monarchs.
I got a very exciting note from AASPN I was chosen for their FB page Fans of Anna Aspens Digital Art with a page I made for our son's 50th bday. I love the artsy pages so I was super happy to get the recognition from them.
Today we went to Tampa Airport to get our friends BIL's and SIL as her vehicle is a little" iffy" )we had to rescue them once when they tried to go to the airport)- 50 min. drive.
Now I a prepping for the Craft Fair at the club...helping and donating again...Then break time I think.
Dear Granddaughter called me and then Grandson called wanting to know about places we had gone geocaching--towers no feet on the ground for that kid.
Hubby due back from meeting so it's meal prep time.

so many people I want to comment about but work comes first.

Hooray on the train! I love the train, but I felt guilty after I read your post, because I was thinking "Oh, gross, bus." When the train I took to college was eliminated I had to ride the bus, it was an hour longer because of all the stops. We're back in front of the fireplace and it's snowing. I feel the same way about challenges, they give me a different perspective, but your right, some just I just can't get in my wheelhouse. I'm so glad we have such a variety & different ones each month.
Both of Gary's sisters were there also and then we ordered supper from a local stir fry place.
Such a great way to recognize a major milestone. It will be a big life change, but you'll enjoy it, there'll will be bumps & bruises but it will be wonderful.

Nothing special happening today. Struggled to get my challenge layout linked this morning. That long break seemed to erase everything I thought I'd figured out and I was back in the dark hallway again. Orthopedics called-this morning I I have a consult on April 16. Same surgeon that I've had before, he's amazing. He said he was willing to do both of my knees at once so I could get it over with, I came out of the hospital next with a walker. It wasn't easy, but I was tired of pain. He's awesome-and hopefully the hip is bad enough for surgery, then I'll be totally bionic.

CONGRATS on the recognition by AASPN, Debby! I haven't used her stuff in a while. I need to do that! Love working with her stuff!
