helllloooooOOOO O-Zies!
Good morning from a sunny but freezing morning in NJ! It could be worse-- I could be in Caitlyn's shoes. She is at a Conference in Buffalo, NY. She sent me some pics from Niagara Falls yesterday and it/she looked *cold.*

It was another long day sitting on my butt which is no longer a pancake butt. I think I have gained a ton of weight since all I do is sit and eat, eat and sit. The silver lining, AKA head in the sand, is that I can't step on a scale just yet.

I stared out my window, looking for the woodpecker again, but there was no sign of it. However, Gary and I watched a group of turkeys walk from across the street, through my front yard, and then into the woods behind us. We counted 9 of them and our uneducated guess was that there were 7 females and 2 males. Our guesses were based on the iridescent colors of the male feathers and the size and drabness of the females. After I post this, I'm going to pop over to Cornell Lab and see if we had it right.

My plans for today are the same as yesterday. I am going to make up an outline for Lauren who is leading the HS Field trip on Friday, as well as work on the following two trips that I'll be leading. Next Thurs is field trip training for the spring season and I'll be instructing the section on Stream Study. Gotta review my info on the macroinvertabrates. So exciting!! I hope the stream has a decent amount of water, I was so sad when it dried up last summer. We didn't get all that much snow this winter again (It's not a good thing, Faery!)

I also want to carve out some time to work on a challenge or two here. I only did three March challenges, -- also all 4 AJ ones-- but I should do some now before I get busier outside (soon!!!!)

HAGD!

Yeah, wow some friend indeed! I do believe because I know and understand what you mean. While I'll listen to anyone for considerable time(s), I'm always afraid of being dubbed a complainer and/or "bothering" others. I get you for sure...
And, honestly - I've been in your shoes, it's not a fun place.
You try to take care of yourself, as best you can, ok? And that includes letting off steam here. :heartpumppink:
The funniest thing about my friend is that she was one of my best friends, who I thought was "safe" to vent to. I appreciate you sharing your similar feelings. I'm always here to listen if you need to vent, and no judgment on my part. :D

@vickyday There were plenty of times yesterday, same as every day, that I don't think "I got this" but I am glad to have your confidence in me. :hug3:
Your mechanic is awesome to only charge you for parts! Good mechanics are not always easy to find. The one we went to for years retired and now we aren't sure where to go.
Were you able to find any cushions for the deck chairs?

I looked over the April challenges and love them. I found last month's to be hard for me -- not really my preferred style/topics. But I already have ideas about most of April's. I really enjoy doing the challenges, they make sure I don't just do the same pages over and over.
That makes it more fun than when you feel like you are fighting with the challenge. I like them to be challenging in a thoughtful way but when they frustrate me, I give up. I refuse to think too much. :giggle4:
Just a few hours after I wrote that, and had started working on changing my attitude, I got a notification that the train service will be restored this week on the route we have tickets for!!! I'm so happy. I do tend to get a picture in my mind of how things "should" be and I have to really talk myself into believing anything different will be just fine. But it seems that this time I don't have to.
That is fantastic!! It is such a great feeling when things fall (back) into place ♥
Good news... Son-in-law#3 was dismissed from the hospital yesterday afternoon. DD#3 is busy setting up appointments with a couple of specialists and primary care. She plans on coming down when DD#1 is here... probably on Friday so we can be together during the time of Max's funeral. Leslie has shared the plans for the service. I am so proud of her as she is honoring Max, their love and marriage, and their years together.
Your heart must be so full of emotion. What a jumble... lots more hugs coming your way~~~~

Quick in and out. not that I have much planned, just tired. Had a "freezing hot" night last night. I was shivering then sweating all night. Didn't feel photoflash felt more like when you have a fever and your hot and yet freezing and yet I am perfectly fine. Not sick wasn't a fever but that is the best way to describe it. Didn't sleep well or much because of it.
Think your body is telling you to perhaps not overdo it for a bit? :thinking2:
*runs away as fast as I can*

(Hey, Kettle, you missed! :haloslip: )

Hope that you slept well last night. Rest up today since I know you will be busy cooking tonight.

Morning ladies! A beautiful sunny morning here. DH has plans to wash the car, cut the grass and clean the downstairs front porch. So he will be busy today, what will I do? Hmmm, not sure, most likely go for a walk and get coupons sent out to the March Challenge winners etc. I think that we are also going to go down to SIL Linda's to put the kaya arm back on the dock down at the lake so we can get out in the kayaks again. I am looking forward to going out for a paddle soon!
I see you are crackin' the housework whip on your Gary already- good job and keep him in line. And out of your hair occasionally. LOL
I am so happy that you are getting ready for kayaking again. Will your Gary go out with you, too? Might need to get a third kayak :D
@faerywings the weather here is up and down. One day sixty the next thirty. Mother Nature is all over the place. She needs to get back on her meds. LOL Today was sunny but windy. Tomorrow I'm taking my granddaughter to take her drivers test. Not sure where the baby went. I hope today has been a better day for you. Thinking of you and your family. Especially your dad.
Same here, the weather is  But I am seeing some signs of spring and new growth so I should focus on that instead of the whiplash temps. My house stays colder than outside, so I am always freezing and layered up no matter what the temps are.
EEEEP!!! Good luck to you and your granddaughter! That's a big milestone.
Thank you for the good thoughts for the family ♥

Then they came to fix the A/C turned out to be an inexpensive repair $350 instead of the $3000 I was worried about...Yes happy O-lady here.
I am breathing a huge sigh of relief with you!!
I got a very exciting note from AASPN I was chosen for their FB page Fans of Anna Aspens Digital Art with a page I made for our son's 50th bday. I love the artsy pages so I was super happy to get the recognition from them.
Congrats!!
Now I a prepping for the Craft Fair at the club...helping and donating again...Then break time I think.
Ummmmm--- wasn't it going to be "break time" after the Tea? *winks*
You don't stop, not at all. :nod1: Hope you had a wonderful dinner with your DH after your busy day.

Nothing special happening today. Struggled to get my challenge layout linked this morning. That long break seemed to erase everything I thought I'd figured out and I was back in the dark hallway again. Orthopedics called-this morning I I have a consult on April 16. Same surgeon that I've had before, he's amazing. He said he was willing to do both of my knees at once so I could get it over with, I came out of the hospital next with a walker. It wasn't easy, but I was tired of pain. He's awesome-and hopefully the hip is bad enough for surgery, then I'll be totally bionic.
BTW- sorry to hear that it snowed again.
Everything on this site will come back to you again--- eventually. LOL
Good luck with the ortho consult. I feel awful for hoping that your hip is "bad" but if it means you will be pain-free once you're healed, then it is a good thing. *fingers crossed for ya!*

Time for some breakfast and to make my rounds around the LR/DR/Kitchen. I'll do a few laps and then sit back down again. Pfft.
13 days....

Well @faerywings You sound like your bad mood has passed-Welcome Back!!! I have some of the red bellied woodpeckers too- note whoever named them doesn't know anatomy at all. I love to hear them and then see them on my feeder or in the trees. I have lots of birds coming around so it's always fun to watch the feeders. Now to keep the raccoons away. It becomes an obsession as you know. Buffalo --yikes that is a very snowy location she will need an island vacation when she gets back.

Well today is going to be hot in the mid 80's and may set records so I am going to work outside this morning. I need to pot up a few more plants for the club event this weekend.

@BrightEyes looks like things are stabilizing with your family but still sadness which will lighten up with time. Hugs.

Off to Home Depot to pick up some things we need for yard projects.

Morning, all. WOW.... we had a wild and windy day and night. :windy1: It was so bad that it blew my patio swing backward, tipped it over and the swing came loose from the frame. Plus 3 of my patio chairs were tipped up against the patio table. Not sure how high the winds were but they howled all afternoon and were still howling when I fell asleep at 9PM. There was a dust storm most of the afternoon and they were warning people to stay inside and not drive. Temp was down to 27*F this morning with a high of only 49*-50* for the next several days. Brrrr... it is like we stepped back into winter!!! I need to get moving soon. Have to get some groceries before DD#1 and her hubby get here tomorrow morning. Hoping the winds are calmer for the rest of the week. I will have Son-in-law#1 help me get the swing and frame put back to together.... if the winds are calmer. OR.... may have him help me move the swing seat up into the more protected corner of patio by the outside bedroom door and put the frame over the bottom of the patio chairs frames to hold them down. Forecast for April is more high winds... so...

Thanks for all the love and support for the family. I have passed it on to the rest of the family.

Mother Nature is all over the place. She needs to get back on her meds.
Amen, sistah! We had rain & snow again, but it's supposed to get to almost 60 this afternoon. cold downstairs this morning so the fireplace is going.
Tomorrow I'm taking my granddaughter to take her drivers test. Not sure where the baby went.
I feel the pain. My grandson turns 16 on April 21st. He was waiting till midnight on March 20th so he could schedule it. I don't know where that little boy went either, he's 6' 5" , well last time I saw him anyway.
I got a very exciting note from AASPN I was chosen for their FB page Fans of Anna Aspens Digital Art with a page I made for our son's 50th bday. I love the artsy pages so I was super happy to get the recognition from them.
OMG, that is sooooo cool ! :woohoo: :yourock: congratulations! That's a great honor you totally deserve. She left a comment on one of my layouts last week & I practically peed my pants.
I also want to carve out some time to work on a challenge or two here. I only did three March challenges, -- also all 4 AJ ones-- but I should do some now before I get busier outside (soon!!!!)
Yay , perky faery is back! Challenge sounds like a great way to channel your energy.

After yesterday's snow, I didn't trust the roads this morning at 4:30 so I stayed home, had a cup of coffee, and rode my bike for an hour through Italy. Weather was beautiful there. The bike has been lurking right behind my computer chair being neglected all winter, well longer even, but I got more serious about losing weight before we went to Key West and so have started riding my bike on days I don't go to gym. I get to travel lots of cool places without getting on a plane. Plans for today laundry, update financials, and work on a companion page for the vb page I did for dgd. Robins apparently are regretting returning to Minnesota - We have one that sits on the back of the glider on our deck every morning and flies into the living room window, lands back on the glider, shakes it's head, hops to a slighty different spot and does the same thing over & over again. The other day we had 3 of them at the same time. One at the living room window, one at the deck patio door & one at the downstairs patio door. 20 minutes of thump, shake, hop, rinse repeat. Of course it scares the "excrement" out of them, but they don't seem to learn anything. It was a very Hitchcock moment. Time for Mo' coffee.

Good Morning everyone! It is chilly here this morning, but no rain in site for today's hike. It will be a nice easy one through some very pretty forest and well groomed trails. The perfect hike for my DH to start off with. Hoping he gets the hiking bug and will go to the hikes with me, weather permitting of course :giggle4:. We are both fair weather hikers. We spent most of the day weeding and cutting the grass etc. My Gary even scrubbed the front porch and got it all ready for us sit there and have a glass of wine under the propane heater in the evening. So nice to be outside again!! I got all the coupons sent out to the challenge winners etc. It took longer than it should have, but oh well it got done. I hope everyone got some great goodies with them! I need to pick out a few photos and get some layouts done too. I haven't scrapped very much lately.

I too have put on a few pounds, because of not being active enough, but our weight should come off quickly once we are both back into hiking and being outside a lot more right?!! I bet it was cold at Niagara for Cait!! Brrrr!! All that mist from the falls doesn't help either. Our kids and grands are all getting together at Easter to have fun at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara, on the Canadian side, they went last year and had such a great time, but ya the weather was very chilly!!

Could you send some of that heat this way please!! The weather has been all over the place! It got up to 60 here yesterday, but this morning is chilly at only 39, so I sure hope it warms up more for our hike today! Sounds like everyone is getting the windy weather, I find that is very hard on the nerves if you are trying to be busy outside!

I have been bugging my DH for a Peloton Bike for the last couple of years, but so afraid that it might just sit there and collect dust, but I would love to bike around all those great places and never leave the house LOL.

Oh my gosh you have been having crazy weather too!! Hope your patio set did not get damaged by all that wind! Glad that you will have some help with getting it all put into place again. Sending you lots of love and strength for the funeral service in the coming days!

Ok well I better get my back pack ready to go, it will be heavier today having to pack two water bottles and extra snacks , but I will probably make my DH wear it :giggle4: Hope everyone has better weather today and you find something fun to do! :cowwaving:

Mark gave the guy $400 in labor to round up the charges, which is quite low for the number of hours he put into finding the problem! But Mark is going to take his car in for a new clutch and will give him more at that time, too. We want to keep the guy happy! ;)
No cushions. I've got my SIL keeping an eye out on an auction site he frequents. He found our flat stove top for $100 on the site a couple of years ago. The problem is that I need 5 cushions and they are either sold individually, in sets of 2 or 4, but I've never seen a set of 5!

Can't wait to see pages of you and your DH spending time together.....hiking, kayaking, relaxing on the front porch.......

Good Morning,
Been awake since hubby left this morning at 6:30. Finally got my sample AJ page "done" for week 3. I left it in psd format so I can keep looking at it and tweaking it!

Nothing else going on today. I want to run to the church this afternoon to check on the mail. I'm looking for the bank statement. I like to confirm all of my numbers before we have our business meeting tonight. I'm pretty sure my numbers are correct, but I'd rather be 100% sure.....not that they would excommunicate me or anything! ;)

I need to figure out why my Bible app stopped sending me the daily verses for my ATCs. I'm about a week behind...or more!

After I check on the church mail I will need to make some printouts for the meeting tonight.

I made stuffed peppers last night with the leftover peppers from my freezer meals (which I am totally enjoying!)!!! Just finished what I couldn't eat last night for my lunch today.

It is cloudy and cool out today. Rain is in the forecast, but none has fallen yet.

Have a great day!

Good Morning
Quick hello as I gotta get more coffee and start my crazy day!

Think your body is telling you to perhaps not overdo it for a bit? :thinking2:
*runs away as fast as I can*

(Hey, Kettle, you missed! :haloslip: )
Oh Pot, I didn't over do it though that is what was annoying!!! I only did half the cleaning and did lots of sitting between. I sat almost all of yesterday and still didn't sleep well. Like you pancake butt is thriving. I've sat and sat and sat and still the sleep isn't great. I think. its from all the sitting.
we had a wild and windy day and night.
Stay safe Kay! We dont want you to get blown away. That's not the best travel mode :giggle4:

Hate to run, but gotta if I want to stay on target. Tonights our finally soup night of the season at church so you know today will be a hot day LOL Have a. great day Ladies!

Gray and chilly, but David is out in the yard doing spring stuff. Yesterday he said he wanted to go to the nursery and get some plants. I reminded him that we're still a month away from being able to put them in the ground and he grunted and grumbled but I think I convinced him to wait until we get back from our Easter trip. The house next door, whose yard has been a mess since we before we moved in, was sold over the winter and the new owner has been working like crazy getting the place looking so much better. He took down several trees, which have prevented the back yard from being anything but a muddy mess. So I have hopes that this summer we will see our row of four houses with yard-working crazy men looking gorgeous.

Mom drove herself to her high school 75th reunion Monday, about a 2 hour drive. I haven't asked her how many are left from 75 years ago! We were nervous about her going but she seems to have survived.

I got a very exciting note from AASPN I was chosen for their FB page Fans of Anna Aspens Digital Art with a page I made for our son's 50th bday. I love the artsy pages so I was super happy to get the recognition from them.

Whew! There's always that uneasiness of "what will this cost me?" and sometimes you get lucky. There are times I envy renters.

hopefully the hip is bad enough for surgery, then I'll be totally bionic.
I remember the minute I woke up from hip replacement I immediately felt, "the pain is gone!" I thought the rehab from hip was way easier than from knee replacements, but you don't get to show off your scars. ;)

The funniest thing about my friend is that she was one of my best friends, who I thought was "safe" to vent to. I appreciate you sharing your similar feelings. I'm always here to listen if you need to vent, and no judgment on my part. :D
Wrote this and then lost it, grrrrr... :beatingheart: :sad1::thankyouspin::heartpumppink: I hope you are getting some good support, but it sure doesn't feel good when important people disappoint. I read SO much those days and luckily it was nice out so I sat outside. Now in NJ? Not-so-much.... :heartpumpred:

Good late evening! It's been a long weather day in mid-Missouri. One tornado touched down and has been rated an F2. Another possible tornado (not rated yet) also touched down early this morning close to where my nieces live. Lots and lots of damage from both storms. I spent my day at work (I'm in an 8-story building on the 6th floor) hoping I didn't have to go all the way down the stairs to our safe spot. Thankfully we were safe.

I'm head of our social committee at work and we had a pancake breakfast for everyone today. We sold out and made some money for our Christmas Luncheon! I was able to take a few minutes and sample our wares and they were delicious.

Hubby is still waiting to hear about the job he applied for. Apparently the guy he has to interview with left and there is currently no one in that position for him to interview with. Consequently he's on hold. Frustrating but state government has never been known to do anything faster than snail's pace.

The pups are doing well. Onyx was groomed the other day and now looks bald compared to the other two. The picture is not the best view of his cut but you can see what I mean.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe if you're in the path of this nasty, nasty weather.
